    Calamondin, calamansi tree $52.00

When I am off or when I take off for doctor's appointment on either Mondays or Tuesdays and in the area of Kalihi, I make a stop here to grab eggs, the very special kine eggs we call "Balut" will not for me but for my momma & siblings, they love this stuff! Why Mondays and Tuesdays? due to the size of balut are small, don't want to eat them when they get too big. haha. Besides the Baluts, Asagi Hatchery got seeds and citrus fruit trees too, I also grab a few bag of vegtable seeds for my mom and a bag of fresh Rau Ram ($2.) to eat with the balut. The citrus fruit trees are $52. & up and they are from nursery on the Big Island. I really want a Yuzu lemon tree but they are all sold out. I am on the wait list for a Yuzu tree. ((Excited for a Yuzu, Can't wait!)) Asagi been hatching chicks for farms and back yard since 1935, range of chicken raising & food growing supplies also available, & besides the Balut, fresh eggs from Peterson's farm here too. During Covid times, Asagi is opened Monday-Friday from 9-3, curbside pick up only, cash or credit cards only. There are about 4 parking stalls in front of shop. Be careful when you turn in to Asagi, very small road shared with other businesses . Ok now, who wants BALUT? Let's goooo!! Get your salt & pepper ready, slurp.... slurp ....slurp! **Note., Prices are high for these delicacy, but best to get them by the tray for discount.

Such an awesome family business. We wanted laying hens and just didn't know where to start. We called Asagi hatchery and everything was easy peasy! We told them what we generally were looking for in a hen and they suggested ISA Brown layers ( for our situation). They gave us all the advice we were looking for and set us with all the supplies we needed to get started with raising chicks. We picked up our chicks and starter kit at the same day. Knowledgeable and friendly!

    Yum!

I always get my balut from here!! I love it. They're always super friendly. I like going on Tuesday's because the chick isn't too big! Right now during COVID they have you waiting outside and someone will come out and help you. They're quick and easy! To make things easier you can also call in ahead for your order. Love it! Best part, they have rau ram there too so I don't have to make another stop at Chinatown!

Everyone at ASAGI was so helpful and informative, with what egglaying breed would suit us best! Thank You ASAGI!

I was referred to this place by a friend who has gotten chicks from them before. We are new to this chicken raising thing as the Mama Hen that initially layed 10 eggs now have only 7 surviving chicks and now Mama Hen is nowhere to be found. So I came here to get chicken wire, stakes and Starter Feed for almost $80. The 25 feet of wire cost $30. Each stake cost $10 and I got four of them. And the Starter Feed cost a little over $6 for a 5 lb bag. Maxie was really nice and helpful, along with her mom but I didn't catch her name. They were both nice and gave me great advice. I'll definitely come here again for any chicken needs and advice!

Tweet Tweet....Tweetly-Tweet I have always loved animals my whole life, and chickens was always that typical Filipino Pet\side Business\Food. But my chickens were always just pets. I have been coming to Asagi Hatchery since I was 8 Years old to buy some baby chicks. They actually sell a bunch of chicken feed, medicine and farming supplies here. I have also seen some plants being sold here too. They also sell Balut or chicken fetuses that are still growing. They start selling the eggs at any age. They pretty must start incubating the eggs and you can buy the eggs at the stage you want to eat them at. If they aren't sold in time then they hatch and you can buy the chick. Not sure what happens if the chick isn't sold, but I am pretty sure they always sell out. Every time I call for new chicks, I am put on a waiting list a month away. The ladies who work there are always so nice, sweet, and helpful. I have been there many times to pick up baby chicks to be raised for eggs. I have always had my pullets; they are 100% on sexing chicks for me. I have recently placed another order because they are now selling the Easter egg laying chickens that pay eggs from brown, green, pink and blue. I hope I get the ones that lay pretty colored eggs. I am so excited. I recently picked up a couple baby chicks (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/asagi-hatchery-honolulu?select=QeX5popPMC0UJwgKEkVtew#QeX5popPMC0UJwgKEkVtew) and they grew quick and healthy. They are so cute and fluffy!!!!! I can;t wait to get my new chicks. If you want to get fresh eggs daily, this is the place to buy healthy chicks. They always are hardy chicks and grow big and healthy. I can't wait to be picking up my eggs every morning

Awesome customer service. They were able to put me on a waitlist for the chick breeds I was looking for (silkie and silver laced Wyandotte). They got back to me like they said they would and we scheduled a time for pickup. Now my chicks are almost ready to lay eggs!

Outstanding hatchery and excellent customer service. We are brand-new to backyard chicken keeping and they did a great job answering our questions with patience. We ended up purchasing two beautiful Silkie chicks from them. They also have a full supply store to support local chicken keepers.

Super nice staff. I'm a first time chicken owner and they were extremely helpful setting me up with just the right layer feed. Within a few weeks my hens were producing eggs. They have a good variety of organic and nonorganic feed as well and feed supplies that cam be hard to come by.

Maxine is awesome. She has all the answers for us novice chickeneers! Though at first glance the area looks small, they have everything you need. We are thankful for the patience and knowledge that Maxine has shared. Definitely will frequent Asagi!

    Do they sell serama chickens?

    We do!

Do they sell fresh duck eggs?? If not does anyone know where we can buy duck eggs?

Hi do you have any silkie chickens available?

Not available in the next specialty breed hatch (May 2020), but they have it on their specialty breed list so that means they do sometimes have them available.

It was tidy and set-up nicely. It had one very large arena for lessons and jumping events, and another medium sized arena that was well kept. Judy Woods is the Trainer and Instructor that I spoke with and was able to observe a couple of her lessons, and was very happy to see the diversity of her horsemanship. It was enjoyable to see her students bond and work well with a lesson horse. Most of the horses are privately owed, but Ms. Woods herself has a few fine horses that she teaches lessons on. The stable itself was very clean and well kept. Most owners appeared responsible for making sure their horses were looked after and cared for by private hands. Even so, I would highly recommend this stable to anyone who is looking to board their horse, or to someone who is just looking to work on their horsemanship in any discipline: Western, English or Dressage.

Prior to booking the specific tour I had questions which were answered quickly upon emailing. We arranged to meet at a soot in Waikiki (hey shoppers pick a meetup at A La Moana so you can shop after your tour). We headed down the ramp and wondered how we would find him but it was pretty easy with a license plate that said Lost on a grey Dharma van! First, I had absolutely no idea that the tour would be conducted by an actor from the show! Greg was in several scenes filmed in HI for Lost and greeted us with a smile & promise of visiting many Lost sites. I won't list all the sites as they may be different for your tour, we wanted ours specifically focused on Lost. I am a huge Lost fan, my husband and teenager were ambivalent. Greg had tons of trivia which we were terrible at but it made it so much fun for all of us. I loved that the tour wasn't rushed, I was able to spend as much time at the beach and the temple as I wanted to reflect on how much the show meant to me. They were both emotional moments and I really appreciate being able to absorb the reality of being there. While I loved every site that we saw (penny's boat!) those two were the highlights for me. I binged Lost on hulu last year and was grateful that for every site we stopped at Greg had pictures of the scene on his iPad to remind us of what occurred there. He gave a very detailed explanation and we had discussions where appropriate. Don't forget, he was an actor in the show so he had a lot of personal input which I loved! My teen said that was his favorite part. Greg and this tour company are unique, there was no attempt to upsell or bring their own camera to sell us pictures afterwards. At every site Greg asked if I wanted a picture and even had some special magic shots for certain sites! I can't tell you or it would be a spoiler for your experience. Greg I still want tshirts when you create them! He even has a custom made CD of his favorite Lost music, which was a treat. This tour with Greg was without a doubt the highlight of our trip, he was incredibly knowledgeable about Hawaii and Lost which is exactly what we were looking for. Not a Lost fan? He has lived in Hawaii all his life and the tour would have been just as meaningful without the movie references. I only wish that we planned to come back again as I would book the Jacob lighthouse hike as well. I guess at some point I'll say "we have to go back!". You could certainly make a list of what you want to see and tour Oahu on your own but you don't get to have the same experience as having a native guide you through it. Please don't hesitate to book a tour, make sure to ask for Greg for many fun surprises. Mahalo to Lost Tours Hawaii for the memories!

Incredible. My wife…read moreand I had been eyeing egg prices for months. We fortunately purchased a stack of 60 medium eggs while grocery shopping just prior to the spike in prices for $22. Needless to say, there hadn't been many options that supported that price point - though more and more are slowly reappearing. We decided that if we were going to pay a premium for our set of eggs, they'd have to be good - and we wanted the best. OK Poultry seems to have earned themselves a reputation over several decades for the freshness and quality of their eggs. A little backstory, the restaurant I took my wife out to on our first date also got their TKG eggs from OK Poultry. Then we learned that our friend's father who is also a chef, would come to pick up eggs from here as well. Over the years, we've heard more and more stories about these famous eggs, but we never really had the opportunity to head out to nalos just for eggs - until this past weekend. Coming off a 3+ day water fast, I was eating a lot of eggs as an easily digestible source of protein and boy those TKG cravings hit. So, we made a trip out to OK Poultry and showed up early, well before opening, not knowing what the situation was with the lines. Met a nice fellow who said he'd be getting his eggs there since he was a kid and that all the decor you see was there since the 70s. After picking up two trays, we headed straight for the in-laws house where we cracked one of these beauties over hot rice. Fantastic. Mixed with that umami rice, winnahz. We left some for my wife's parents while also delivering some to my own parents - because what says "I love you" more than the gift of eggs? We'll probably be back in a week or so for more. There's a noticeable difference in taste and we find these eggs particularly enjoyable even if you have to pay just a tiny bit of a premium for what could arguably be the best eggs on the island.
