    a plate of sushi
    Valerie L.

I was craving for sushi on a Sunday and most sushi places were closed (Sushi Don, Heisei and Maru, etc). This restaurant popped up on google and I decided to give it a try despite the bad reviews. Me and two other friends walked in, and immediately realized how quiet and dead the place was. We sat by the sushi bar, and were the only ones in that room. After we placed our order, a lady walked into the sushi bar and started making our rolls. Our server checked on us one time and refilled our water. When the lady brought out our rolls we were a little disappointed in the appearance of the food. It wasn't bad, but just not as good as what you'd get at other sushi places in Lafayette/West Lafayette. It was obvious to us that the cook wasn't experienced and probably was just rolling things together while following a instruction manual..... Overall the experience was below average. The sushi tasted ok. For the same price you can definitely get better sushi rolls at other places. The restaurant was big but seemed very dead. I don't know how they stayed in business....

Sushi boat for four people - it was absolutely delicious!

Friendly service. Good sushi that had fresh ingredients. Standard Hibachi, slightly overcooked chicken but otherwise delicious.

The food had no flavor, prices were high. Service was so-so. Hibachi "chef" didn't do much of a "show". Won't go again.

Upon entering the hostess asked if we had a reservation, we did not as this was last minute find. The hostess advised there was a table available in the bar area or a large 6 top table behind the hostess stand. We selected the 6 top, while not in the main dining area it was still a good table and our server Karis was great. Complimentary Bread is served. The bread was served warm and soft. Ordered the Scallops and asked for them to be prepared in a lemon butter sauce which the kitchen was able to do a lemon beurre blanc sauce. Served with a side and soup or salad or a 2nd side if no soup or salad is selected. Requested some tartar sauce however it had a very overpowering Dill flavor. French Onion soup had the right amount of bread and more broth than cheese and onion. Had the Ribeye Cap special which needed a touch of salt and it was cooked a little more than the medium rare plus ordered. Served with a side of Burgundy Mushrooms heavy on the Burgundy flavor and Shoestring Onion Rings however not really on the true sense of Shoestring Onion ring size of things unless your into fat shoelaces but they did taste good. Overall great service and good food

The servers are basically Purdue students and they were very professional, prompt and welcoming. Definitely some place where you should come with out of town/state date to impress them. All their offerings are 3 course meals. A salad or soup, an entree and a dessert. I tried their salad, Atlantic cod fish with some veggies and fresh fruit as the salad. I verified from the server that they don't use alcohol to cook. They had some interesting desserts, but did not try from concern of non-halal ingredients. Their food taste was overall good but the portions are not enough. I was hungry even after lunch.

It was nice to sit down to a hot, well made full service meal on a campus full of student food choices. I had the Italian special, which was their daily special today. The pasta was well cooked, slightly on the bland side but once I salted it m, it was great. There were a lot of pieces of shrimp and plenty of fresh spinach in the bowl. The serving was a good size and also came with two mini cannoli. The cannoli was the highlight of the meal. Delicious cream, not too sweet loaded with chocolate chips and the perfect size. Service was also good, it's nice to be waited on instead of doing a cafeteria style meal. I'd recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a "better" meal at Purdue.

Right off the bat, the staff was rude both when making the reservation and again when we arrived to be seated. Not the kind of welcome you expect when you're celebrating something special. There were 5 adults and 1 child in our party, and 4 of the adults (including my dad, the birthday guest) ordered the prime rib. We waited about 30 minutes just to place our order, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. The most frustrating part was that after we ordered, we waited another 45 minutes only to be told they were completely out of prime rib. No warning ahead of time, no checking before taking multiple orders, and barely any apology. I had ordered prime rib, steak fries, and a salad, and during all that waiting they didn't even bring out my fries or salad. We were then told we should have come before 5 PM because they "run out," which didn't make sense since I had recently been there on a Friday evening for my own birthday and had no issue ordering it. To top it off, there was no attempt to make things right--no apology, no discount, no comp. I ended up not ordering anything because I didn't want to pay for something I didn't actually want after waiting that long. Overall, a really frustrating experience, especially for my dad's birthday. Definitely not the level of service we expected.

First off, I have always picked where I want to sit, the part about "server is busy, and that table is served by a specific server" is nonsensical, they should really change or add a server to the seating area that customers prefer (near window, more lighting etc) rather than having the customer sit somewhere else for their servers convenience. Secondly, I picked up the glass for water and it smelled like an egg, I called out the server (who already seemed annoyed to change of seats) and told her about the glass and the response I got was "we wash our glasses in vinegar so it must be that", well first off, I know the difference between vinegar and egg smell, secondly, it was disgusting and I cannot drink water in it, instead of arguing, she really should have just changed the glass, it's not that hard.

All of us were dressed in our church attire and arrived on time for our scheduled reservation. Unfortunately, the reception we received was unwelcoming--the host's comments and tone made us feel judged based solely on our appearance. It was an uncomfortable start to what should have been a simple family meal. Our waiter, by contrast, was wonderful--kind, attentive, and genuinely professional. The food was also very good, and we appreciated the quality of the dishes. However, the overall experience was overshadowed by the attitude at the front desk, which set a tone that made us feel our presence wasn't valued. It's disheartening to feel out of place somewhere you've made a reservation and planned to enjoy with your family. Sadly, despite the good food and great table service, I couldn't fully enjoy the meal because of how we were treated upon arrival.
