The staff is super friendly. Nice atmosphere. Clean bathroom. Free parking available for an hour. Food is a just okay. I was a little disappointed.

Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen

Cute lil place. Love the decor. Cashier was very nice. Offered us free water and a seat while we waited for our carry out. Spicy Tonkotsu was sooooo goood. I'm gonna have to get extra egg next time, it was perfectly cooked. They put the broth in one container and all the toppings in another. Kept anything from spilling which was great. The broth was piping hot so all I had to do was pour it in the other bowl and wait a few minutes. Way better than Yatagarasu

Pretty good ramen at a very reasonable price at next to the hotel I was staying while in town. Upon arrival, the staff gave me an iPad to place an order and food came very fast. I do not think they have a liquor license here as I didn't see any alcohol on the menu however they have all kinds of fun Japanese soft drinks including ramune. My favorite childhood drinks. ;) Yuzu shio ramen's north was so comforting. I really like the citrus yuzu. I was so tempted to try their tonkotsu. I guess I have to try next time if I come back to the area.

The place is nice but the food is amazing! The crab Rangoons and spicy pork buns are good. The soba was the best I've had in the Midwest! Highly recommend.

Came here on a late Tuesday night as a last-ditch effort for sustenance. Happy to report that it was in every bit successful and fulfilling. Apologies for the poor photos, we were too busy devouring our food and forgot to take adequate photos. For what the pictures do not rely, the taste does. We had the rich tonkotsu ramen, gyoza, and the black truffle ramen. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. I would absolutely get the rich tonkotsu broth and the gyoza again; the black truffle was worth a try but I liked the tonkotsu better. Service was great and the place is super cute--bonus points for being open so late! Would definitely come again.

The food was amazing and the service was even better. From start to finish an amazing dining experience. I got the rich tonkotsu ramen and it was delicious. Also had the Golden Oolong Tea and it was great. Our server gave us cups of ice with our drinks which was awesome as well. Overall great experience I will come again.

On a cold Sunday in West Lafayette, what better place to warm up than having ramen! I first heard this place on my Facebook feed since my son goes to school there. It is located in a strip mall with parking available. The decor is quaint with table and bar seating. We ordered 2 ramen dishes, a donburi bowl and an appetizer. They were all very good but my hubby loved his Unagi Don! Portion sizes were good. We were so full we didn't have room for dessert (we would have ordered the Nama Chocolate which sounded like little lava cakes) so we will have to make a return visit. Service was friendly and efficient. We'll definitely be back!

The food and service were amazing. The Spicy Tonkatsu was delicious as were the fried calamari and Gyoza. Great little place to sit with a friend and quiet meal after a long day!

Expensive for soup, not near the quality of Yatagarasu but offering far more flavors and variety. My buddy and I went all over the menu with apps, two bowls, and dessert. Our starters were satisfying and well made, ways to eat Japanese chicken nuggets and very good gyoza. Our bowls turned up very hot, after cooling we noticed a lot broader spice profile to the sauces than Yatagarasu, the other and only real competition around. Garasu has the better ingredients and meats, denser and richer textures. This place boasts the creative and fun options which seeing the specialty black truffle ramen would be the thing to bring me back. There's no beer on tap but atmosphere is fun and parking right on site. The staff was accommodating and polite and with the place quiet to ourself for most the dinner didn't feel rushed. I'm not sure about authenticity or how others like Strings compare. I do know to avoid that one and can happily slot Genki into forth after Yatagarasu, Noodles & I, and Rice and Noodle Thai.

Food was great and service fast, even though the restaurant was packed. I had the spicy miso ramen and my wife had the spicy tonkotsu. Forgot to take pictures before we dug in.

Yuzu Ramen

Tonight I tried the Yuzu Ramen, it was excellent. Light citrusy taste. I will eat again.

Loved ambiance and Big paintings on the wall. But the ramen did not meet the expectations. The chasu was like a bacon strip in the soup.

We decided on a a variety of dishes. We started with the scallops and steak, accompanied by a side of onion, and later opted for chicken and pork belly. The scallops were good. The steak was equally tasty. As for the onion, it was just an onion, nothing extraordinary. Unfortunately, the chicken didn't quite hit the mark for me, and the pork belly fell flat--it was simply unappetizing. However, the sauces were a highlight of the meal. The staff was more than generous, happily providing extra helpings of my favorites. The soy-based sauce stood out as particularly delicious, enhancing the flavors of our dishes. My husband, on the other hand, couldn't get enough of the hot sauce; he mentioned it was pleasantly flavorful without being overly fiery, making it just right for those who appreciate a touch of spice. We also shared the jalapeño tuna appetizer, which my husband declared to be the best he's ever tasted. While I found them delicious, I hesitated to agree with his exalted claim--there are many worthy contenders in my culinary adventures! The service was excellent, likely due to the lack of other diners. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a lovely local spot to experience dining, especially the cooking your own food. We took our time, enjoying a couple of drinks and soaking in the sights of the street outside, and the approaching storm. All in all, it was a wonderfully leisurely meal, a nice departure from our usual rushed dinners. The restaurant offered a comfortable ambiance, and I would certainly return. While it may not crack my top five favorite dining spots, it's definitely nestled comfortably in the top 25 of restaurants I've enjoyed. This place is perfect for a relaxed date night, allowing you to savor the experience of cooking and enjoying great food at a leisurely pace.
