My LiftMaster garage door was giving me a message error of forced opening. It would open about 8 inches and stop. I bought my garage door opener 3 years ago from this company and just recently 1 of the 2 lights went out. I'll called the company because I couldn't find any information about replacing the light, it turns out the garage door opener I bought has been discontinued and I believe I know why. you cannot replace the light yourself, (as with every other garage door opener I've ever seen) you have to have someone from the company come out to replace the light and it costs $200.!!! I've never experienced anything like this before and can't say how disappointing it is to have this kind of issue. Very disappointing. read more

Garage door would not open. Unit sounded like the internal gears were stripped and the springs didn't appear to be carrying sufficient load. ASAP came out next day and Tyler did a great job installing a new gear and sprocket kit. He also tensioned the springs as they had clearly weakened over the years. I just got off the phone with my 83 year old mother. Glenn from ASAP Garage Door Repair had just completed a repair at her home in Sun City. He explained the options (repair or get a new opener) and then replaced the 22 year old opener. After the install he set up the two hand held remotes AND programmed her car remote! But the great service didn't stop there. As he was leaving out the small garage door, he noticed that it didn't close properly. This has been a long term, intermittent issue. Our garage door spring broke so I contacted ASAP to come out and fix it. They were speedy and were able to get someone out to us the next day. During the scheduling call, they didn't ask about what kind of garage door we have or ask any questions. When the tech came out early the next morning he told me that we wouldn't be able to get the spring replaced on our garage door because we would need to convert our internal spring system to an external. Since we have above garage door storage built in, he wouldn't be able to do the repair that day. The tech was in my home for 10 minutes and I was charged $105 for his time and for the quote. After taking a few days to consider this situation, I feel that we were swindled and taken advantage of. We have since called out other local companies to provide an estimate and all have come and done so for free. They are all also able to do the work without us needing to take down our extensive storage system. Overall, I feel that ASAP Garage Door Repair should be ashamed of their behavior and I would not recommend them to my enemy. UPDATE: ASAP reached out and apologized for this experience. They also refunded us. They didn't ask me to remove or update this review, but I felt that they took steps to do the right thing. read more

We hired ASAP to install the garage door on our new-construction home. The price was great, the install was great, the door is great... so there's 5 stars, right there. HOWEVER, pretend for a moment that Yelp allows 6-star reviews for really exceptional service, and you'll see the 6th star I've given them above. Here's why: We picked a jackshaft-style opener from LiftMaster, which operates using steel cables on two pulleys to either side of the door on the wall at the front of the garage rather than a more typical chain or screw-driven opener mounted in the center of the ceiling. A couple months after our install, one of the steel cables somehow unspooled and fell off one its pulley as the door was closing, causing the door to fall on one side, bending the tracks and wedging the door half-open and inoperable. ASAP came out promptly (did I mention, by the way, that our house is over an hour away from ASAP's location?) to fix the door, under warranty, at no cost to us. A thorough inspection did not reveal a definite cause of failure, but we tweaked a few things that could _possibly_ under just the right circumstances have caused the failure to make sure it didn't happen again. Great service. Another month of trouble-free operation went by and... BAM! Same thing happened again. Again, ASAP came out quickly to fix the door, again everything was covered under warranty; Junior from ASAP went out of his way to meticulously re-adjust everything about the garage door install and even replaced a stile on one side of the door just because the one on the door from the factory had a tiny imperfection that might, maybe, possibly, with the right set of circumstances and bad luck, have caused the issue. We tested out the door, and it opened and closed ten times in a row, smooth and quiet as silk every time. ... and another month went by and, of course, it happened again. THIS time, however, we finally caught the culprit red-handed: the electronic deadbolt, from LiftMaster, had almost, but _not quite_ fully retracted after the last time the door was opened, so it was left sticking out _just enough_ for the door to catch on it on the way back down the next time it was closed. Once again, ASAP fixed everything, under warranty, at no cost to us, including replacing the defective deadbolt. Maddeningly, the deadbolt failure was an extremely intermittent one - 99% of the time, it worked just fine - which is why weeks went by between failures and ASAP could - and did - test the door a dozen times in a row each time they serviced it without seeing any evidence of deadbolt failure. After the replacement deadbolt, it's now been a year and a half with no trouble, and we still have the smoothest, quietest garage door we've ever had. That's where the 6th star comes from. Not just normal "great" service or a one-time warranty repair, but quickly coming out to fix our door, under warranty, no less than three times for a hard-to-find problem that turned out to not even be ASAP's fault. I've had their repair guys out several times to repair problem with the garage door sensors (A.S.A.P. installed new door and sensors one year ago). They give me reasons why the sensors don't work but won't do anything to solve the problem. The door track (which they installed) seems to move slightly when attempting to close the door, throwing the sensors out of place, therefore the door won't close. I asked service rep to install a bracket to keep track from moving. He said he couldn't do that. In summary, I've been charged for two service calls and problem still exists. read more

The community on FB advised me to use ASAP and after over 30 positive recommendations we called them. They had someone out to access within a few days and I got VERY LUCKY by having someone cancel an appointment.... I got a new door motor put in that appointment day! Ronaldo was our tech. Very professional! Extremely knowledgeable!! Took his time but was fast and efficient with our door motor. We spent a little over $400 out the "door" But we got a motor that is professional grade, new safety eyes and a solid track. If you buy crap on sale somewhere else.....you get crap. I would give one hundred stars if I could. I have never had such fantastic service on anything as I had with A.S.A.P Garage Repair and I was in construction. I called at 9:05 on Christmas Eve., and was away from home. I was told that even though they closed today at 2:00 someone would be there by noon. Instead bout 45 minutes later there was a service man at my door. He analyzed the repair, got his tools did the work, checked another door and was done in about 20 minutes. Unfortunately it was not covered by warranty. I felt that the service call price was extremely reasonable for a last minute call. The service tech was awesome, got his work done promptly. I will not hesitate to recommend this company and certainly will use them.I wish I could use them on other projects around the house. read more

Garage door broke this morning and couldn't close it. The second garage door would not open consistently. Called ASAP at 7:30 am and they said they would have someone at my house before 11. We called a.s.a.p and the guy came out changed the springs and claimed our unit was junk and that it's broken and that they don't have the parts to fix it, that he doesn't have time to fix it, and that it needs to be replaced. When we called them it was just because the spring broke. The door worked just fine until the spring broke. He didn't even offer us a discount or anything to try to help us remedy the situation. He even had to have us look for the manual because he wasn't familiar with our unit. So needless to say $189 later and our garage still doesn't open/close but at least we have new springs..... read more

Representative arrived earlier than the appointment time, which was GREAT. Assessed, quoted, and performed the work with speed and efficiency: our door works even better than before now. My garage pretty much self-destructed. Because the torsion springs were never re-adjusted in probably 12 years, all the garage weight was being pulled by the opener. The internal nylon gears on the motor stripped. I called at 7am, they were able to come out that afternoon. Within about 10-15 minutes he already had the thing fixed (no springs to replace). Since he was so quick, I asked what it would cost to install my opener and whether or not he could fit the install in his schedule today (it's 20 degrees outside in december so it's worth paying to have it installed). It was $150 to install the craftsman I bought (Sears was going to charge $130, but he also upgraded the support rails to thicker stronger material). In 90 minutes he was done with the installation, including adjusting the force and stopping points. He recommended I oil all the contacts points again with some 10W30 oil in a couple months, and also when it warms back up that I stop by and get a replacement rubber strip for the bottom of the door for $28 (there is a gap on one side of the door). All in all, Couldn't ask for better service! read more

Contacted the business for an emergency repair 10 minutes before they closed. Explained this was an emergency as my grandson had to leave for a surgery at 4 am to Chicago and I could not secure my garage door. I was also going to be leaving for vacation and was in panic mode due to recent crime activity in my area. The gentleman advised he would have a tech out in less than an hour. Jeremy arrived and was very pleasant and understanding. Initially he thought it was a bad control board and did not have 1 on his truck. I used ASAP garage door repair for a garage door opener replacement in 2015 and that was really a good experience. Yesterday I broke a spring that was replaced by another company 3 years ago and was out of warranty for 59 days. I thought I will try ASAP again. I called and talked to Tony in service yesterday and told him i wanted both springs replaced and then I wanted to get my second garage door Tuned up. I asked for a price and he gave me a super quote and had a technician sent out this morning 18 hours later! The technician Bill was the same tech I had for the opener replacement so I was happy as the opener installation was perfect. Bill replaced the springs, lubricated all of the door hinges and roller and then he balanced and even replaced a burnt out bulb! He then service the 2nd garage door and replaced a light I did not even realize was burnt out. He was done in 1 hour! The price, the service, the time to complete the service and the detailed efforts of the technician were above and beyond any service as a homeowner I have ever had. If all service company's were as concerned about quality as ASAP, well we would have less choices as they would get continued repeat business. I highly recommend ASAP and would caution against just evaluating a quote on price. I will be a lifetime garage door customer of ASAP's as there is not other service like theirs.
