They are the consummate professionals. We were traveling when our house had an "electrical issue" (lightning). I called and the were at the house almost immediately. They got the power on and planned for repairs. They set an up front fixed price that was very reasonable for the amount of work they had to do. Without naming names so I don't miss any one, I can say that the service I received from the office staff and the repair personnel was absolutely outstanding. They all went out of their way to make sure the job was done in a superb manner. They even corrected mistakes made when the house was built. You can tell a good company by how they react when something goes wrong. Dominion Power "forgot" to schedule their workers and Asbury immediately got on the phone and got the problem fixed. Routine job, installing a 6 circuit, 30 amp transfer switch to allow me to use a generator during power outages. Cost estimate, $1,700+ was double what I considered a fair price. And the price didn't include the cost of the transfer switch. So no actual work was performed other than the estimate for which I paid $89. read more

We hired this company to install a ground electric socket with a brass plate, set up a generator in front of the house to connect to the main, and wire our long-awaited floor to a 210 outlet. Unfortunately, they mistakenly hooked it up to a 110 light switch instead. They charged us around $3,000 for the work. Our electrician inspected the generator and found that the wires weren't even connected properly. He refused to touch it, stating that the way it was started made it unsafe. My husband, a Class A contractor himself, would never treat a fellow contractor in this manner. When the technician came to hook up the generator, he had to follow a booklet for instructions. We've been dealing with these issues for over a year now. I usually avoid speaking negatively about local businesses, but this situation cannot go unaddressed. read more

This is my third time utilizing this company's services. They are polite, punctual, straightforward folks! They are trustworthy and friendly. I feel safe like a family member is in my home when they are there working. My most recent experience, Kevin came out with Sage and worked on my attic fan and some outlets I needed installed. I was away on business and my wife had to leave to pick up our son from camp. They finished earlier than anticipated but stayed at the house until my wife returned home: just to make sure the house was safe and that, if she had any questions, they would be answered. 10 out of 10 every time and bonus points for being good people! read more

I've been dealing with some severe electrical problems and needed to replace a number of lights/fixtures in my home. I have been very pleased with Asbury's level of service and professionalism. They offer a service package which allows a discounted rate on multiple projects, so I subscribed given the amount of work that needed to be done on my first call and the anticipated work that would need to be finished this year. Each time I have called, they get me on the schedule relatively quickly. One of the technicians has come to assess the situation and provides various quotes based on your needs and financial situation. You can then choose which option you want and they schedule the install/service. Each time I've done this, they are on time, the job is finished efficiently and I haven't experienced significant problems. I will continue to use them for my electric home repair needs. read more

I requested to have someone come out and check my electrical system because I had some outlets that weren't working. They advertise a $89 inspection fee, so I set up an appointment. When the technician arrived he informed me that the $89 was just to get him there and the diagnostic fee is $460. Needless to say say I did not use their services. I can't understand why they don't disclose this information when you schedule the appointment. read more

I scheduled a service call and was told it would be $79.00 to come out and diagnose the light problem in the bathroom. I was surprised about the $342 charge to push the GFI reset button outside which kicked off due to the power outage which was the reason the bathroom light did not work. Please note the service fee and level option you chose is combined and was not explained when I made the service call. Therefore I feel I was overcharged for a visit to push a reset button and listen to a sales pitch for a service plan for $15/month. read more

We contacted Asbury Electric on a Saturday evening for a problem with the electrical panel affecting our well. We were given a time and received a confirmation email that an electrician would be paged and would be out to our home between (7-9 p.m.) At 8:40, I contacted the company again which went to a call center who could not advise us about the status of the call. I received another call from the company on Sunday morning stating they had seen where our service request was still open and she wanted to address the call. The electrician never showed and we were without water due to the issue until another company was called the next day. No thanks, we got it fixed with another company. They may be a good company, but sure didn't show us anything when the call to them by us which was confirmed goes unaddressed. read more

I do not normally leave reviews, but Stephen with Asbury Electric just made my day. I lost power in my garage only on Saturday after having too many things plugged in on one circuit. After trying everything I knew how and calling my home warranty company. I decided to get a second opinion with Asbury Electric and I am glad I did. Stephen was kind, answered all of my questions (and there were a lot) in a way that I understood and then explained why he was doing what he was doing. He is very sharp with current code issues, common electrical concerns for homeowners, and very skilled at communicating concerns and issues to the homeowner. Josh and Ryan were awesome on the installation. They showed up exactly when I was told they were going to start the work and stayed until the job was complete. They were very knowledgeable on the current applicable electrical code issues, common household electrical issues, and were very friendly and answered any questions I had about the work they were doing. I highly recommend using Asbury and especially their SSP incentive. IF YOU'RE HAVING ARC FAULT BREAKER ISSUES, THEY ARE AN AWESOME SOURCE FOR HELP. The trucks are clean and tidy, they always use floor saver shoe covers, and their installations were clean and pristeen, even down to the cover plate screws being oriented so that you don't catch a fingernail on a screw when operating the light switch. read more

I needed a transfer switch to be rewired on a standby generator. I called Asbury and they sent out a rep, Daniel to look at the job. He quoted me a reasonable price and we set a date for the work to be done. Daniel and Wayne showed up and started to do what we thought was a simple job. When they opened the transfer box and power panels they found they had been set up wrong by the contractor 16 years ago. Daniel showed me what was wrong and what needed to be done to get up to code. I agreed and they fixed the problem and also corrected the original setup wiring issues. They did the job in about 4 hours with no breaks and a reasonable price. I highly recommend them. Ms. Jackie, Wayne and Nate were the best. Each one of these Asbury Electric team members were professional. They absolutely help turn a horrible week completely around. Lightning struck my home and destroyed my electricity. Wayne was and electrical guru! He explained everything from start to finish. I loved that Jackie sent a picture of the tech before they arrived. Both Wayne and Nate were very friendly and extremely respectful of the client's home. The wrapped their feet with covers and clean up any paper or wrapping used.
