I mentioned I could pick up disposal at Home Depot for $120 at (Insinkerator, 5 HP, which he said he'd get and is all he uses). After replacing disposal, took him no more than 1/2 hr (probably 20 mins) to snake the sink drain to unstop those 2 sink drains. $670! My mistake- should have bought disposal myself, gone with another plumber if unable to give me an estimate range over the phone, then not have them do anything once arrived until gave me an estimate in writing. I would like to share my experience with Atomic Plumbing. Please read all the reviews before going…read moreto any Plumber! I had a light flash on my hot water heater and called the warranty department. The warranty department informed me we had to do an elemental check and will need a plumber to come out to check the reading. Once the plumber comes out give us (the warranty department) a call and they will walk them through on the issue. I called Atomic Plumbing and explained to the reception on the issue at hand. Gave her full details needed before the tech came and like most people who wrote the review, I too got a diagnostic fee but mine was 198.00. The tech came out, I gave him the details, and he informed me that an additional 130.00 will be added to the diagnostic fee because he was not informed, he had to make a phone call to the warranty office. I shook my head and said no, I was told the diagnostic fee was only going to be 198.00 because of the short notice and we need a tech to come out today. The tech informed me if he makes the call, it would be an hourly rate. Normally the call will take 30 min to an hour or more, he would have to wait on the call, give out details, and eventually delaying him on getting to the problem at hand. I told the tech the work has already been done; we have a case number already in place and they are waiting for his phone call. Tech said he can only do what the company would allow him to do. I agreed to the new price and the tech made the call. The tech gave the case number, and he was immediately routed to the department. The phone call literally took 11.23 min, I clock it. So, the 11.23 min that he was on the phone I was charged 117.00? 117.00 dollars divided by 11.23 min = $10.41852181656278 per second The tech said he will be back with a quote, gave me the quote and I paid for the diagnostic fee total 315.00 (The tech gave me a courtesy credit of 31.50.). I am getting the service done on Friday with another provider who informed me switching out the part should take no less then 20 min and with a quote that was an 84.939759036145% SAVINGS than what atomic plumbing quote. I am highly disappointed with Atomic Plumbing both with the service and with the hidden fees.

When he returned he gave me the cost. A whopping $333 labor to install. I could have said no and looked for someone else but we had already been without a sink for a few days. I may be wrong but to pay $333 labor cost for less than 1 hour of labor is over the top. Then the dishwasher wouldn't drain. My husband spent the evening messing with it only to find out that the technician left the drain plug in so water kept flowing back into the dishwasher. Update Hadn't received my emailed receipt. Texted the number late last night (7/10/2026) and was then sent the receipt. I had been advised by the technician that the labor would $333 for a customer supplied disposer. The invoice shows a $234 for "Install Customer Supplied Disposer." Yes, it was a signed invoice from a tablet. The technician had me to sign without reviewing the invoice. I trusted that the install was $333 as he had said. Additionally After removing the drain plug that the technician left in and running the dishwasher, it backed up again twice and proceeded to not function. Texted the number again last night regarding the plug being left in and the dishwasher causing water to build up in the bottom of the dishwasher. And now, the dishwasher is not functioning after removing the plug. Scheduled a technician to come out today.

When searching for that, we came across Mr. Rooter of Williamsburg's Water Leak Detection Services page and gave them a call. We explained what we needed from them over the phone and set up an appointment. When they arrived, I was told they don't do leak detection. They left shortly after acting like I was crazy for 1) knowing it was a slab leak (confirmed by a different plumber) and 2) for thinking they'd do what their website had listed. After they left, I received an estimate for them to re-pipe the whole house, something I didn't ask for. Thankfully, they didn't charge us for the visit.
