I wanted 4 can lights and was told that I'd need a new electric panel for that to happen. I was quoted around $5,200 for a new electric panel (after having to ask specifically for the cost of this item). I mentioned that I put a panel in 3 years ago for a similar sized home and it was $2,500ish. I just got another quote for this home. It was $2,700 and I was also told I didn't need a new panel to add the 4 can lights.

They came by to let us know what the issue was, then, after we had the flooring ripped up after a leak detection company marked off where it was, they came with the jackhammer and tore up our cement. Unfortunately, the leak wasn't where detection had marked it. I'm grateful Stephen was find enough to come in on what was supposed to be his day off the next day to continue after we took up the rest of the wood overnight. They did a great job at locating the leak, fixing it, explaining what might have happened to cause it, filling the hole back up and covering it with cement. We purchased an existing house 4 years ago which had a dual-fuel HVAC system. I contacted the…read morecompany I used for many years at our old house which I was very happy with but, they didn't seem to understand the system. I did a little research of reviews for HVAC companies in Chesapeake and found Simmons had great ratings. I found quickly why they had 5-stars! My previous HVAC contractor had been out twice and I was left with, " you need a new thermostat" and left with a cold house. That's when I found Simmons. They were very responsive and were out within 8 hours. The technician was very polite, professional and explained everything about the system (since I was unfamiliar with a dual-fuel system). He identified the problem and made the necessary repairs quickly. Having had a great experience then, I put the system under contract with them. Since then they have not let me down. They have kept my system in excellent condition. This week I suddenly had an issue with heat. Called and had a technician here within 3 hours. He got the system working but the next day I had the same issue and on one of the coldest days the system was out again. I called after hours and within 15 minutes had a call back from the on-call tech who said he would be here in 20 minutes. He was. The problem was so minute, a loose connection, but trouble shooting that was a pain for him, but he found the problem within 15 minutes. Simmons is my only HVAC system contractor. I know the age of the existing system and understand it only has a few years left in it. I feel confident that Simmons will keep it running great and when the dreaded day comes, it will be Simmons technicians installing a new system.

I had a surprise issue this morning with the electrical panel with all the breakers. It was making…read moresnapping noises as all the lights flickered in the house. Pretty scary with no idea exactly what was going on. I rolled the dice and called cole's based on the other Yelp reviews as well as post on the website. My first impression was positive as the dispatcher that I called was concerned and also informative. She gave me a good idea of the work already on their schedule and when they could arrive. We shared a laugh about the local roads nearby and just really connected from the first minute. When Jay and Seth arrived they were both very professional. In a matter of minutes I had explained what happened they asked some critical questions so they could start their analysis and they dug in. They tested each of the switches in my panel, they checked outside at the electrical meter to see if my power company was the problem, and they ultimately decided that one of the breakers was bad. At that point they were able to show the buzzing that indicated the breaker was bad. We tested by applying load with different appliances in the house. Everything worked out and the job was done. Total cost was less than $300 which is a great price for any electrical visit but most importantly matched what I was supposed to expect. They also were responsive and quickly scrambled to my service call with limited delay
