Another dealership never even responded. ‍ We decided to make an appointment to talk with someone in person at Ascension Honda, and after much patience and discussions, we decided to trade in our van and buy with Ascension. The salesperson, OJ, was patient, respectful, and forthcoming from the moment we walked in. Only good vibes from him. Then, we met with the finance manager, Jimmy, and again, very impressed! Both were very personable, informative, and patient with our many questions. The owner, Ken, was also walking around and is reported here quite often, which is super cool! When I bought my car in February of 2025 Ashley was an awesome sales rep. Ashley gets 5 stars from me! The service department however does not. I got free oil changes and tire rotation when I bought my car. Each time I bring my car in the service department of course wants to do all this extra work on the car. The car does not have but 50,000 miles on the car and therefore does not need half the work they try to do each time. I was called about doing a break flush for $119. I said they could do the break flush and my oil change and tire rotation. I get to the dealership to pick up my car and they charged me $300 dollars. When I asked the service rep about the charge she with an attitude said "nope its $250 as she walked away with my card. Upon looking further at the charges I was charged $250 for the break flush when I was told over the phone that it was $119 and a $70 dollar charge for parts. I do not know what parts were used on my car, other than an oil filter which is supposed to be free and brake fluid which does not cost no $70. I will not be back. Free oil change or not. I would rather pay people who are trustworthy and not just trying to get money out of me. read more

I loved that this place has a game that waiting patrons can play! I came for an oil change and tire rotation. Service advisor was courteous. Informed me that it will be about 1.5 hrs . I have my coffee to drink and brought a book to read. They offer free cookies and water. I don't think the coffee maker is working. You can also purchase sodas or snacks. read more

My daughter brought in her vehicle to repair damage to the exhaust pipe. The Ascension Service dept told her the car needed a new muffler and quoted over $1100 for parts and labor. And then, they reported the muffler was backordered and they didn't know when it would be available. And Ascension charged her a $100 diagnostic fee. She took the vehicle to a muffler shop, who confirmed there was NO damage to the muffler. Only a portion of the exhaust pipe needed to replaced. They fixed it while she waited for $80, with no new muffler needed. Not happy with Ascension for seemingly trying to take advantage of her and replace undamaged parts. THIS is the type of behavior that earns dealership service dept's a bad reputation. read more

We bought a brand-new 2022 Honda Pilot from these people and will NEVER buy anything from them again. Service department is incompetent. I don't trust them with my vehicle. We make an appointment for 7:30 am and they do not get to the vehicle till 12 noon while my wife is waiting there. When you complain, they give you standard BS excuses. If it was not for the lifetime powertrain warranty that requires your service there, we would gladly do business elsewhere. read more

Was 'pre-approved' over the phone before we drove 2 1/2 hours. Showed up at 5pm and to get our new car and no paperwork had been done or submitted, we were lied to, then they offer us $500 for our trade in that already have verified offer of $2000...by 8pm we were still waiting and told to come back in the morning cuz they were closing!!! Had a friend from out of state that had his Honda Pilot serviced here to replace his transmission that just all of a sudden went out, cost him a little over 7000.00 dollars and it took 3 days to get it back, he drove it back to Houston and within just a few days his transmission light went on again, he took it to his local dealer and found the problem to be that there were 3 or 4 bolts missing thank God he had a warranty for the new transmission, not only did he probably overpay they screwed up the installation of the new transmission. Will never take my Honda there will take it to team Honda in Baton Rouge where they have excellent service read more

So the first red flag was when the sales guy sat down to show me the numbers on paper, and the starting price had jumped UP by $500 ABOVE the advertised price. Secondly, he ARGUED with me when I questioned him about it-- even after I showed him the advertised price. My family and I all went to this Ascension to try and purchase a vehicle. When we entered the building nobody in that place had any type of Personality we entered with one person saying Hi how are you and that was it . This business needs to have a more perky personality, outgoing, and a bit more respectful . While we were there waiting and waiting for them to tell us if we were approved by financing, it was already passed their closing time and everyone seems like they wanted to just be able to go as we were the last people they were taking care of so when 8:30 rolled around they said well we're still working on the financing papers but we can let you know tomorrow morning if you had been approved . Only to find out otherwise the next day when at other dealerships my parents had no issue with their salesperson staying late just to make sure that they would be able to leave with a vehicle that night . If they want to have better sales at Ascension Honda and more customers then they need to kick it up a notch with their employees and they need to be more outgoing in a more grateful happy personality and be more fun with their customers . We barely got any updates on what was going on just a person walking back and forth to tell us all we need this signed and we need that signed but I'll be back in a little while and he took forever to let us know anything. This is a "Buyer's Beware" Announcement and a little bit of a rant about a local business. Kevin and I are hoping to prevent others from going through what we went through. We have been dealing with Ascension Honda in Gonzales for the last week. We have bought many cars in our lifetime and this is by far the WORST experience we've ever had. They have lied and jerked us around for about a week now. They called us over and over again trying to get us to make a deal on a used car. We would turn them down and they kept making promises to get us in there. We finally go there and start off with one person, who then turns you over to another person who is now supposed to be your sales person, only to have that person make an agreement as far as pricing, some repairs on the car, etc. and then they turn you over to some floor manager who then tells you that they won't agree to what the sales person promised ( repair of some paint chips, etc. on the car) even though I have actually signed documents from them. They are the shadiest group of people I have ever dealt with in my adult life. I have copies of signed agreements with them, and when Kevin stopped by to sign they told him the agreement they signed with me was not good and they didn't give the sales person the approval to do the things she promised. Oh, and they wanted a check from us on the spot to the repairs, even though we already had a loan through our credit union, or they were going to sell the car to someone else. It's like a damn a circus and no one knows who's in charge and who can agree to what. End of story is my mild mannered husband walked out of there so angry he could barely talk. He told me would never buy anything from there even if they were giving it away. Save yourself the trouble and go to Team Honda or Richards Honda in Baton Rouge. I came in with car trouble a couple of weeks ago for my quite old civic and unfortunately, the repairs were going to cost quite a bit to bring the vehicle back to a normal state. Having considered that for a while, James (Bubba) discussed potential alternatives including purchasing a new vehicle. I did not feel pressured into buying anything and he helped me navigate the pros and cons of all of my choices. He really helped make a bad situation much better by working with me.
