Mr. Fixits= my Knights in Shining Armor. Here is my sob story! So, my mom has been ill for the last couple of years with strokes and cancer. I am freshly out of college and it's been difficult to have the money to go and take care of her during certain times. I have successful older siblings and though they have very busy lives they have been able to take care of her when I couldn't. My mother needed a surgery and needed a caretaker for 2 weeks. So during Mardi Gras I went to take care of her. When I arrived home, my car had been towed by the city from in front of MY HOUSE! The biggest bummer was when I went to find my car in a crazy random middle of no where lot, it turned out they had ripped the bumper off my vehicle, and did other damages. After 7 long months of bringing my butt to court and going out about it the tough way, I won a minimal about of money from the city to have my car fixed. For months, my car scraped all over the ground. I was going through a financially draining time and the ever growing reminder of my poverty from my broken down car was draining my typically very high spirited personality. But then these ANGELS came into my life! I was driving back from Baton Rouge to Nola to have my vehicle's bumper fixed. My car began to over heat and I was pretty freaked out. I did all of the things I've been told to do when something like this happens, but I was very scared. I asked around if there was anywhere near I could go, but no one in this town had a clue where to send me. So I found Mr. Fixit's online! I called and explained that almost EVERYTHING was wrong with my car, but that this time, it was over heating. They told me to come on by! I said a few Hail Mary's and then drove about 14 minutes to them, boy was I frightened that my car wouldn't make it. When I checked in they were calm and cordial and I just handed my car over to them and waited. The next few hours were like a dramatic episode of ER as I sat in the waiting room. They'd come in, say it wasn't looking good, come back in-- said the car LITERALLY JUST DIED, then that they couldn't see any serious problems, then back to me again-- she may need a new cap, no biggie. They were pumping my baby car full of liquids and trying to raise her vitals!!! And then finally, I was told I could check out. They had an extra surprise for me... THEY PUT MY BUMPER BACK ON!!!!! This may seem trivial to those reading this-- but it's not! I had brought that car to 6-7 shops since it had been damaged. All of them with people that would never touch the bumper that was tied on with an electrical wire and a piece of dirty rope. I was literally on my way about to spend $500 on someone putting on the bumper I had just ordered for $400.00!!! When I got the bill-- well I won't say how much-- but I will say that it was the lowest amount of money, that I, or anyone else I know, has EVER spent on their vehicle. EVER. They had the AC running, said that they checked out some of the things people had told me were wrong with it, tweaked around, and that she was good to go. When I saw my car with the bumper back on, I honestly wanted to cry. This has been an incredibly difficult year and when my car was messed up, I felt like why did I deserve so much bad, when I try to be so good to everyone and everything. These guys totally turned not just my day around, or my week, or my month, but literally my YEAR! Things aren't perfect but these absolutely amazing people made me feel like my luck was changing. And really it's all about perspective, but they changed mine! Dear Mr. Fixits, you did so much for me. I can't thank you enough. You treated me like a lady, you didn't make me feel judged, and as a young woman in an unfamiliar town you made me feel safe. Thank you so much for helping me! I can't stop telling everyone about how you saved my day. I will be recommending you to EVERYONE! I will definitely come to you when I need more help. And I will make sure that I bring y'all a treat when I drive up to Baton Rouge next, which will be very soon. Thank you for being such wonderful and spectacular people. Needed new brakes and tires. They didn't overcharge or try to push. The shop manager showed me the wear from my brakes and explained what needed to to be done. They had me in and out in under an hour. I'll say that most of the time that I have to get my brakes fixed it's always a hassle and i feel like I pay for more than what I really get at other repair shops. These guys did an excellent job repairing my vehicle! I brought it to the dealership, who wanted to charge me a couple thousand dollars to replace the fans and "fix the cooling system" so I decided to get a second opinion. I, brought my van to to Mr Fixits, and it took them less than 20 minutes to come tell me I do not need new fans and there is nothing wrong with my cooling system. I come to Gonzales to check on my aunt from time to time and her car needed a tune up. I read the reviews, but my experience was great. The shop guy's greeted me like a friend at the door, asked me how they could help me and got to work. They took a look at everything and walked me through what needed to be replaced/repaired. Best service I've gotten in quite some time! My AC on my 2011 F150 was cooling but wasn't blowing very hard. I tried "googling" a fix and a few other shops around town, but they all wanted to charge me $100.00 just to look at it. Mister Fixit's check everything out for free then told me how much the repair was going to be before they started any work. My diesel started acting up so I stopped by. Shop guy took a look at it then brought his boss over. Turned out that all I needed was a new fuel filter.
