The bottom line up front: Ascent Roofing replaced my roof on 03172025, St Paddy's day, between several snow storms. They did a spectacular job and I would recommend them. Let me "self identify" I am an engineer. Please take my review with that in mind. I am fact and detail focused. It's how I was raised, what I studied in college for 6 years, and what I have been getting paid to do for the last 10+ years of my professional career. Also please excuse my exact English potentially having errors, thanks autowrong. Plus English is my second language. I am so boring like that. Multiple months prior to the actual replacement, Ascent worked with me through the entire process to square up all ducks in a row. The process included but not limited to working on getting insurance to help do their part, worked out finance options with Lowes Financing, we considered solar for my use cases and Ascent did not up sell the project, the installation process was well explained beforehand, city permits were requested/coordinated with an inspector, and Tom at Ascent walked through shingle material selection with water barrier and ridge venting options well in advance. When the installation happened it was the easy part relative to the months of preparing prior. The removal of the old roof was clean, the installation was clean, the dozen man crew was hard working thorough and answered all the questions I had about the details at the "boots on the roof" level. I am always curious to learn how things are actually done and they were totally happy to share how they do what they do. It was also fun seeing the crew hammering everything down to the beat from their boombox. In between songs they hammered to their own rhythm. After the old roof was removed, and the new roof hammered down, they did a very good sweep for any nails or other trash on the ground. Other projects taking priority since March did allow me some time to get a short to medium term feel of the roof's performance. During the hot summer months I was concerned about having chosen an almost black shingle color getting the house hotter than prior years with my old lighter colored shingles. However the ridge venting seemed to even things out (versus turtle vents on the old roof) and the new darker shingles did not make the interior any significant amount hotter during the summer. Also since the March installation, now seven months later on 10242025, I have checked my attic after a few rain and wind storms. I have not found any leaks, nor anything else of major concerns. Working with Ascent has been awesome. They kept their word - said what they do, did what they said, and like they said they were awesome to work with. Period. I suspected that a leak in our ceiling came from a solar panel support, so when I scrolled down a list on Yelp and saw Ascent Solar & Roofing, that was the first number I called. And the last. Amber said her best repairman, Pancho, would arrive in an hour and a half; he arrived 15 minutes early. I'd hoped we could get a quick fix for this one leak (rain was due in a couple more days), but he did a thorough inspection and found that the solar installers (from a company that has disappeared) had done shoddy work with flashings and sealant at penetration points; he also found deteriorated 15-year-old sealant around chimney flues and vents. Amber was in contact with him and with me by phone during this, and her description of the problems was clear enough that the pictures she sent me seemed redundant, just confirming what she told me. Pancho re-sealed all the actual and potential leaks; the job took two hours plus, and seems well worth the fee. Some rain did come, but no more leaks. We'll still want to have some flashings replaced, and maybe to upgrade our solar array. When we're ready to do that, I have my answer to "Who you gonna call?" bwj read more

Ascent Solar and Roofing delivered outstanding service for my roofing project. They efficiently removed two outdated roof vents, a swamp cooler vent, and an old water heater exhaust pipe. Additionally, they dismantled the old bricks from a chimney, replacing them with flashing, and painted the two aluminum-colored pipes to match the brown hue of the asphalt shingles. Tom Marsh from Ascent was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a quote and worked closely with us to get the roof replacement financed through Lowe's. The crew showed up on time, were extremely organized, worked hard and got the tear off done the first day and started replacing shingles immediately after on the same day. Bad weather was moving in, so they did as much as they possibly could prior to its arrival. The crew was HUGE and they worked fast, plus they were happy and friendly. The work was started on a Friday and completed on Monday. (No work on Sat. or Sun. of course.) The job site was cleaned up well afterwards. My solar panels stopped producing because the inverter went bad. I googled and called and left messages with tons of companies, no one got back to me. Of all the calls I made only Ascent answered the phone and they attempted to troubleshoot with me to save me $$. After I texted some codes to them and it was determined the inverter was bad they ordered and installed the new one quickly. The delivery time was the only delay. We had a problem with the inverter communicating with server and Ascent followed up and kept after the problem without me having to chase them down. That alone is worth tons. We had a roof done with this crew and I was very impressed. We had their "slow" crew and were finished in two days. Life was so easy working with them it was slicker than snot on a brass doorknob. I got our solar panels taken down for a roof repair. Great care was taken in the whole operation. Improvements were made on my old system with new racks, and critter guard put around the panels to keep out animals and the extensive leaves I had underneath.
