I have been visiting this business for dry cleaning and alterations for nearly nine years. Up until three years ago, the service was always satisfactory. Since 2022, however, a couple of shirts sent in for drycleaning have been returned with a button missing. On two other occasions, a button up shirt requiring alteration was returned with one front panel longer than the other. Quality control is lacking. They are always so nice, friendly and accommodating. I have been using them for years and there's only been 1 stain they couldn't remove for me. The tailoring services are great and they always stitch up my little repairs and tears in my clothes for a reasonable price. Highly recommend and they have good hours and a good location. read more

I would NEVER go there again. BEWARE! Brought them a dress to be hemmed and paid $28 for that plus another $5 for the neckline to be sewn shut about 2 inches. I bought the dress for my son's graduation specifically. Well on the morning of the graduation I put the dress on and immediately noticed that the back of the dress seemed to be hitting my legs higher than the front. I hung it back on the hanger and sure enough the back of the dress was nearly 2 inches shorter than the front. I certainly couldn 't wear it like that so I had to scrounge around in my closet last minute for the graduation. I took it back to AVC the following week and after 20 minutes of arguing with me they asked me to leave it again so they could try to fix it. (I knew it was already ruined for me b/c I didn't want the front hem brought up to the length of the back) but they wouldn't give me a refund until they tried to "fix" it. I went back today and shocker... it was exactly the same as when I dropped it off. This led to the counter lady getting 2 more people to come up and look at it. They claim that the seamstress cut the same amount of material off all the way around. I told them I didn't care about that. She should have hung it up and made sure the hem was even when she was cutting it. After 20 minutes of arguing with them and getting nowhere they still refused to refund even any part of the money that I spent. I told them I was going to review them here on yelp as well as on yahoo, facebook and everywhere else I can find, and they shrugged and smiled. Well if I can save one person from the poor workmanship and customer service it will be well worth it. DON"T use Ashburn Village Cleaners for ANYTHING! I'm even thinking of taking them to small claims court. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Ashburn Village Cleaners for the better part of the last decade, until today. Historically, they've exhibited fair prices and great service, even with same-day service, which I thought was a good value differentiator in a saturated market. Today, I brought quite a few shirts in for same-day service (I needed them for a Holiday party that evening). When I picked them up, I was presented with about 15% of the original order, with a casual apology, a promise that I wouldn't be charged for the portion of the order that wasn't finished, and a commitment that they'd be ready on Monday. I understand that mistakes happen, but when, as recently as they have, a dry cleaner starts adding a surcharge for same-day service (which I paid), they ought to follow through on their commitments, especially when a customer makes clear the need that the clothing be available for an event that day. I've also noted a lot of changed faces behind the counter lately. Coupled with the price structure changes, perhaps a management change has taken place? If so, not for the better. The bottom line: Take your business elsewhere. This is a crowded market, and this establishment doesn't deserve your business or your trust. read more

If I could give a 0 I would. I'm not one to write reviews but my experience here was so horrific within a minutes of being there that I have to do this. The male employee priced my 3 tops, 1 scarf and one pants and charged my tops as dresses (bc they were longer tops). He said the blanket would be $50 and I advised him that $50 was too much so I won't get that dry cleaned. For the "dresses" (actually longer tops), pant and scarf he went ahead and charged $68 on my card. I thought he had said a different number when he had first told me the total of those items so when I saw the price of $68 for those items I asked for a breakdown but instead of doing that he voided my payment without me even asking to. He then wouldn't let me keep the receipt of it being voided and threw my clothes in my face and told me "to leave and never come back". I actually had to ask him to repeat himself because I was so startled by his remark.This has to be more than a bad day and after coming on here and noticing other bad reviews I am not surprised. He had absolutely no manners and was very aggressive in how he spoke to me and threw my clothes at me just because he was upcharging me and I wasn't dumb enough to fall for it. read more

I would have given Ashburn Village Cleaners two stars, but they have improved. After this new owner took over, the customer service was poor and the employees came across gruff, curt, and un-interested. On one ocassion, I brought my shjrts in to be cleaned and the lady who took my shirts was just droppong them on the floor. I told her to stop and if she did it again, I would not return - she stopped immediately. Since, I have not had any issues. However, the ladies who work in the front and take your clothes are probably the owner (s) wives and don't want to be there.....it really shows with one of them and I always hope she doesn't wait on me....of course today she did. Brought in pants to have the length cut approx 8 inches off. first they charged 18$ per pants and other places in Ashburn charges 10$ and when i tried them on they were still 4 inches too long! couldn't be worn. and i did notice in her haste she didnt pin or mark the pants and just folded the length to be cut which was lost after i took the pants off. i cuffed them up to wear and i went to another Ashburn cleaner next to a Giant supermarket near Ashburn Village to have them done over so i could wear them, and i was charged 2 0$ for 2 pants.( THIN PANTS not denim.) and ill agree with rude service on top of bad service. I am pretty much a new customer in this place until now. I should read the reviews before. Last time I was in this place. I picked up my 5 shirts and my favorite lavender shirt had some big white spots around the neck which was notorious. I told them if they can fixed. They tried to blame on me. They told me we can try to clean up again. They charged me again for the same shirt and it come out with the same white spots. No apologies or any effort to solve the problem. Got my shirts done here. I was sad when they raised their prices 20% in January. Then I found a spot on a shirt that I just had cleaned and asked them to redo it. I was surprised to hear that not only would they charge me again, but that there would be an upcharge for "special handling". Our household dry cleaning has been performed here for many years up until a few months ago. The service was reasonable, product was always in good shape and the prices competitive. With this in mind, we used them exclusively at about 150.00/month average. A few months ago, they damaged a shirt with some sort of over-spray of chemical which caused a discoloration spot. No big deal, these things happen and we chose to bring it to the attention of of the staff for remedy. They were of little help in general and the language barrier did not help. We requested on a few occasions, while still being patrons of the business, to have a manager address the issue with us and propose a remedy to the situation. Our requests went unanswered and our business went elsewhere. Dont bring any clothes to them that you are not prepared to replace at your own cost if they damage them! read more

The only reason I gave them one star is because I couldn't give them a negative one star. One of the most horrible businesses I've ever done business with. I recently moved to the area and even though I read these bad reviews, I thought I'd give them a try. The first few times they seemed ok except the price. I then dropped off a dinner jacket that had the lining come loose on the front corner to be sewed and cleaned. When I picked it up, they said it was $24. Before I paid I checked the sewing job. It had not been touched. When I complained and refused to pay, one of the women said they sewed some other part. I still refused to pay and she got very nasty. I ended up paying for the cleaning. Even though they are only 5 minutes from my house, I will never go there again. read more

This place CANNOT PROCESS SLIM FIT shirts. Please be aware your shirts may be torn/damaged if they are slim fit as they press them and the template they use is too big for slim fit shirts. Brought shirts there for 12 years, lately we have switched to slim fit shirts (size Large nevertheless) and they have torn one on their machine, and they offered $25 STORE CREDIT for it (for a $100+ shirt). Since at the same time they have damaged a pair of white pants that was being dry cleaned (in the process of cleaning it for a wine stain, they wrote on it, the ink is still there after they tried to take it away twice, and the pants have shrunk). Needless to say they have lost our business and I would not recommend this place. Disappointed with their customer service when there is a problem. I would have been more pleased had they offered to pay half of the replacement shirt.... Also they don't accept credit card unless it is more than 10 dollars. Sometimes it is a a pain, especially when you are in a hurry and you have been a loyal customer for 12 years. read more

I dropped off 6 shirts( 5 men 1 women) and was given a receipt for 6 shirts totaling $5.94 . The day I go for the pickup I'm asked to pay $9.80.When I inquire about it, they said the price for cleaning women shirt would cost $ 4.75. They were rude, mean and started calling me names(liar, cheap, have bad memory) and that it was my mistake . When I asked to talk to the manager, one of them said that she was the manager and attacked me with the same terrible attitude . When I argued with them the lady who posed herself as manager took the clothes back and said I would get the clothes back only if I pay them $9.80.
