After seen all the positive reviews I decided to come out and try this place out. I called approximately 4 times and never got an answer on the phone. Upon arrival, I ask the guy working to tell me the difference between starching and pressing a short sleeve shirt and he seemed a little confused but at the end answered my question. Their prices are ridiculously high. All I needed was a short sleeve pressed and not even washed because it's already clean. To your response, if you offer other discounts why weren't these discounts mentioned? I took my items to a different place and they also use the same products you use and they cost 63% less. Brought two skirts here for minor repairs. One needed a new zipper pull (the rest of the zipper was fine) and one needed some minor tacking for a 6" portion of the hem that had come undone (liner was fine and not attached or impacted). They wanted to replace the entire zipper and redo the entire hem. I tried explaining that there was nothing wrong with the rest of the hem, just one small portion but he said the whole hem had to be replaced. I took my skirts and left. I thought I would give them a try with a small repair before bringing more things here for more regular work or cleaning, but if they're going to do work that doesn't need to be done for something small, I don't want to know what would happen for something bigger. read more

This place is awful since it was bought by new owners. It smells awful inside, the owner has no clue what he's talking about and can't quote a price without consultation from somebody he has working there on contract part time. My wife and I dropped off two pairs of pants and a bridesmaids dress to get altered July 15. The pants were ready July 21 and the services we asked for worked out fine, but my wife's dress we were told was not going to be ready until August 4 so my wife went to go pick up her dress for a wedding next weekend and the dress had not even been touched yet claiming that the seamstress had been sick. Which sounds pretty sketchy. they let us take the dress back without having to pay for it since they hadn't done anything with it but I certainly would not go there again. read more

I needed to get my skirts hemmed. I was told $25 for each, which was pretty expensive. In PA where I lived before the same skirts would cost me $10-15. I understand it's a different area, but I still think that it's overpriced. Especially, if you pay for your skirt less than for getting it hemmed. :( The work was done very neat and professional. Cleaning is fine, the alterations person is only on premises 2 days a week in the evenings which makes things a bit challenging.

Even though they are named New World Cleaners they offer "Old World" service that you don't find much anymore. When you enter Mrs. Huh doesn't walk to the counter...she runs. My clothes always come out perfect. They have gotten some near impossible stains out and have done many perfect alterations. I've accidentally left money and other items in my pockets and they always safely return them without me even asking. They even carry your clothes to the car when you pick up. Very very nice, polite people there and good quality cleaning. I only had one incident there with one of my winter coats that came back missing a button. Luckily, I had a spare button at home and brought it back a few days later to have them sew it back on. They did, but charged me another 5.00 to sew it :/ I would have thought they would not charge me for the repair as a courtesy for the trouble and considering it came off there while it was being cleaned. I also dropped off a simple cocktail/bridesmaid dress which comes with a waist sash and was charged the rate for a fancy dress and an extra 5.00 for a "scarf". Otherwise, I have had a good experience. They give 20% off for larger orders which saves on the cost and if you are picking up a large order they will carry out your clothes and hang them in your car for you. I received an email from New World Cleaners asking me to give them another try since they were under new management. I took 18 shirts including my tuxedo shirt which had something on one of the sleeves. All my shirts came out exactly as they should have - collars were clean and any stains were gone. They got the sleeve of my tuxedo shirt clean. I have been using this cleaner since they opened, except for the bad experience in my previous review. I will now trust them with my slacks and suits.
