Terrible. Told by home inspector logs installed incorrectly. In escrow. Send photo and ask to verify if correct. Said they can't tell from photo and have to come out for $271.00. I cancel because it's after escrow closes. Again, I cancelled and they still came out and then have been harassing me for payment. Try anyone else. Ashbusters is dishonest and inept. read more

We Just bought an older home (1957) in Gallatin and wanted to have the chimney inspected prior to using it this fall and winter. Scheduling was fine, and the technician who was here in early October was polite and knowledgable, however they never provided me with an estimate to make the recommended repairs. It was $309 to do the clean and sweep and give me a report of what he found. I waited 2 1/2 weeks to get the estimate. I emailed the technician twice and called the office and spoke to a female in person. Still, no estimate. So, I have hired another company to make the repairs, but of course have to wait 6 weeks because now it's busy season. The lady at the other company said they hear this all the time. It's been a while since I had them come out. Just thinking about the experience makes me very upset. The technician was an absolute misogynist. He didn't listen to my any of my concerns or questions. He kept pushing their in-house remodeling service for my fireplaces. I told him multiple times that's not why you are here for. He left the house without closing any of the fireplaces up & double charger my card. Do NOT use this company for dryer vent cleaning. They did not completely clean my vent of lint. I had to pay a plumber and a dryer repairman to tell me there was NOTHING wrong with my dryer or the vent: Ashbusters just didn't do a thorough job. I called multiple times to get them to come out but they never called to schedule a return to fix their problem. At 229.00 I expected better service! read more

After playing phone tag with the office staff for a couple of days, I was able to schedule a cleaning and inspection for my chimney. The appointment was scheduled quickly (within a few days) and conveniently around my calendar. The tech was on time. He was very polite. He explained everything that he was doing and why he was doing it. He made a huge mess and cleaned every bit of it up when he was done. Before leaving he went over the findings with us, gave us some recommendations for repairs and explained what to do/not do in the meantime. The price was very reasonable. A few days later the office staff followed up with me to make sure everything went well. We've already scheduled a return visit for some additional work. Fantastic customer service. Does not stand behind product and workmanship, period. On the frontend of my customer experience with Ashbusters it would have granted a 5 star review, Dean and his team were more than accommodating to any custom work that was needed to get the job done. From prompt call backs to revising estimates to finishing the job on time, it was perfection. But when you have an issue with a product or needing them to stand behind the installation, prepare for a journey of excuses to blame shifting. In May of 2017 they installed a zero clearance fireplace along with about 30 foot of stainless pipe with a cap along with custom framing to situate my fireplace where it was needed. After about 4 months I was having an issue with birds wanting to nest inside my fireplace, the cap that was installed had 3+ inches worth of space to accommodate manufactures specifications for draft. Which this may not seem to be a problem, but the issue was the birds were tearing out insulation for nesting materials and not being able to escape they would tear up the inside of the F/P. After multiple attempts contacting Ashbusters to get this resolved, they kept saying it was installed to manufactures specifications. They have to make more than one cap, so I called Olympia and asked if there were any alternate caps for my fireplace and they told me there were and how to go about ordering them. Called Ashbusters to let them know there was an alternative in which they were ok with replacing the cap at no extra cost, but I would have to pay for the $750 daily lift rental. This should have been used on the front end. I live in the middle of a 300 acre farm, there is wildlife out here. Why this cap was not used in the first place is beyond me. I expressed that it was not my issue the wrong cap was installed and how does a chimney company not own their own lift, how long have they been in business?!? January of 2019 we had some storms pass through middle Tennessee where the cap was completely removed from the top of my pipe. Not straight-line winds, I would understand that completely, it was a mere 20-30mph winds. Called once again. Given the same spiel how they would repair it only if I rent the lift and that they do not cover acts of God. I would understand that if it was a Tornado that passed through but it was just a windy Saturday night. At this point it's an installation issue, there was no screws in the cap to affix it to pipe, the cap was just sitting on top of the pipe. Still will not stand behind product and install. At this point I am finished, I have wasted time writing this review which will not do much in terms of affecting a company but in hopes of you possibly looking a little harder and little longer for a good chimney company. -Matthew Warren read more

I called Ashbusters to clean out my dryer vent. I had been behind one of their vans in traffic and had seen that it was one of their services. Tim and Ronnie came out and they were just great. By cleaning out the vent (which was at least 20 feet long with twists and turns) they were able to double the air flow. Up until then, it was taking two hours to dry a load of towels. At first I was a little put off by the price ($189) but I decided to call my uncle who is a life long electrician and handyman who lives in another state. He told me that the price sounded "about right", and that given how weird my vent was, it would be well worth it. They were just great, gave me some good hints, pulled out all the stuff that had fallen behind the washer and dryer over the years! I don't think you can do any better than Ashbusters! read more

I called just to verify that they do dryer vent cleaning and was told the pricing up front which was very reasonable and scheduled an appointment. This company came out and installed an insert into our wood burning fireplace in our home along with the chase and chimney cap. At the outset they told us the project was doable. By the time they were done the ridge cap on the roof had to be replaced because of the damage they had done during the installation. They agreed to fix the damage and sent a roofing company out to fix the ridge caps which blew off the very same night in a rather light storm. One cap blew off and scratched the hood of our new jeep. On the same night we had a 4 roof leaks in our log home so out came the buckets. About 6-9 months later we saw a stain on the hearth but thought it was from a potted plant. Then, during a rain storm we just happen to notice water coming through the insert where the flue handle came out. We called Ashbusters back and they came out but couldn't diagnose the problem. The technician said he didn't know what the problem was. So I asked him, "so you can't fix it?" and said, "I don't know why it's leaking." I asked him if he could refer us to another company. He said he was going to talk it over with his supervisor. No one ever called us back. When I called they said everyone was in a meeting and they would have some one call us so we would know what our next step would be. No one ever called us back. We couldn't see pursuing the matter with this company any further. Oh, they got close to 4 grand of our money. Like most, they could probably do a decent job on something that didn't take advanced diagnostic skills like chimney cleaning otherwise be careful ya'll. read more

Run, Don't Walk, Run to another chimney service! Mine leaked. Paid for a new chimney cap, mortar fix, and sealant. Seven days later it leaked again. They blamed my four month old roof. Called roofer, he filmed his crew spraying down chimney and then removing flashing. No leak. Then he showed me photos of the improperly installed chimney cap. And also photos of all the old mortar that Ashbusters swept into my gutter. Ashbusters scheduled a new appointment to reinstall chimney cap but they were a no show. Rescheduled the appointment and they finally showed up. I asked for photos of finished work. They agreed but left without taking photos. Had to reschedule another appointment to get photos. They only took two and not of the side with the leak. Run, don't walk, run from Ashbusters. read more

Visited Ashbusters website at Ashbusters.net. and was able to chat with Matthew H., great online customer service. Their website have a lot of great information on there about the chimney business. Their Website also list the 3 Levels of Safety Chimney Inspections and provide what it entails. Along with the 3 levels of inspections is the starting price for each level. However, when I recieved a call back to schedule the appointment after online chatting with Matthew H., I spoke to a Courtney who advised me the starting price for Level 1 service is $209, which is listed as a starting price for a Level 2 inspection. I explained to her it was a different price online of $179. She asked, "What website are you looking at?" I gave her the website address and she said, "that information must not have been updated." I again mentioned what is showing on their website and she said, "well it's $209." I then decided to cancel with scheduling. She was apparently annoyed with my decision. If simple information as far as pricing not updated on their website, what else isn't updated? Are they still CSIA Certified? Do they conduct background checks on the sweepers? I don't know, but I am taking my business somewhere else. read more
