I've gotten both of my toilets for my bathroom remodels from Ashby Plumbing. They've been much cheaper than if I went with a big box store, and much more enjoyable to deal with. They just started doing a text message feature which was helpful, but much easier to just call and speak with the friendly staff. read more

I am an experienced DIY person. Once you experience a place like Ashby Plumbing, you do not go back to Home Depot or OSH. This business caters to plumbing contractors but they are home owner friendly too. I have used them for years and get great service, all the parts I need, and the Best Quality products. Simply buy a P Trap from Home Depiot and then one from Ashby - you will instantly see the difference and you won't go back either. It's also amazing to find that the prices at HD and Lowes are not as good as you think they are. My biggest complaint about big boxes is that they have some of the parts for your job, but never all of them. I special-ordered a product. Its model number was "3060F", namely 30" wide and 60" long. The model number on my invoice, written by Carlos at this firm, was completely clear and correct. A few days later I got the specially manufactured product from the factory. It wasn't a 3060F. It was a 3260F. It was 32" wide, and labeled as such. How did this happen? It was Carlos at Ashby Plumbing & Heating. Although he had written "3060F" on my order, he communicated "3260F" to the factory. I, of course, had no copy of his order to the factory, so I couldn't know to tell him to correct the order. This firm desperately needs some modern technology to help prevent errors like the one made by Carlos. The firm takes no orders or payments over the telephone or the Internet. You have to go there in person and stand across the counter from a clerk, who hand-writes your invoice. He then hand- or voice-delivers an order to a supplier, which you don't see and can only hope is the same as the one on your invoice. read more

Standard basic good place. they have a much larger selection than any place like Home Depot and they know how everything works. They answered the phone, told me they had what I was looking for and then when I went it they gave it to me...for some money but still. The place is also 'old school'. Guys sitting at gray desks using phones connected to wires. They also had pens and carbon copy paper and it looked like they used them. Plumbing hasn't gone too high tech and neither has this place. The holy grail of plumbing supplies. They even tell you where you can find what you need if its antique or don't have hit. An amazing place. Sometimes I don't want particle board and don't want to see my cabinet all over the place. They have fittings in stock that no one else would; not at lowes or home depot, and they actually knew what they were talking about, instead of just pretending to as with the other. We needed help replacing our crappy apartment shower head and had already been to Home Depot unsuccessfully (not really their fault; whoever installed the shower head that we had when we moved in did a crappy job). The staff here was super nice, knew what we needed immediately, even without photos, and even grabbed the right size and item off the shelf. We paid cash and were in and out in a few minutes. I use this place for work, have an account, so I never looked at prices. They have everything I've ever needed and bill the company, so I never thought about prices. I buy a lot of strut and strut hardware and specialty items that tend to be expensive anyway so honestly I just assumed everything was expensive here. I did some price comparison for a personal project, and for copper fittings the items were between 40-50 % cheaper than orchard supply hardware. OSH prices were about the same as Home Depot. Even with 10 pack discounts the price difference was still over 25%. I'm not saying everything is cheaper, but I can say with certainty that if you're doing anything with copper, buy it here. The guys seem pretty helpful. I'm always in there asking dumb questions and they try to understand what my goal is and try to help. I've heard them dealing with really really dumb questions too and they answer with helpful intentions, in my opinion. I think you might be able to get your project done and make just one trip to the store if you go here with your old broken widget and ask them for help. read more

I've been dealing with Ashby Plumbing for years but most recently had an experience that inspires me to write about. The fellow who took my water heater order was very sweet, attentive, and made special arrangements for me regarding both payment (my car was off the road) and delivery. They called me to confirm everything and the delivery person was a darling and helpful with information and offers regarding my car towing issues. Overall, I feel like this type of business cares about its' customers, and listens to what's going on for them. I like this place. They actually carry US made malleable iron pipe fittings! Try finding that at the box stores. Yes they cost more, but I'm wary of using foreign made fittings as I've had a few issues with the quality. So you ask yourself is it worth the extra money for the install or is worth the risk of redoing a job. The staff has always been friendly. read more
