It reminds me of the kind of boutiques I would shop when I lived in Chicago and Austin and that I miss. Scout carries a fun variety. There is top quality vintage furniture and home goods with plenty of new products as well. You can find Baggu reusable bags, fun stationary, quirky gifts like Queer Eye or Golden Girls candles, stickers, and keychains. Today there was even a plant pop-up shop. The owner is the operator and is very friendly. I truly hope this store does well as it fills a niche here in Lafayette that we don't have otherwise. I only worry that not enough people know about this little gem. My only "complaints" would be that I want MORE! More hours (right now they're only open from Wed-Sat 10-3 which means I can only make it on a Saturday) and more inventory! More stationary, and small inventory.

I found this shop tucked away in a strip mall on the near south side of Crawfordsville and was delighted. From the moment I stepped in, I noticed the pleasant aroma of candles and the comfortable appeal of country chic decorations and gifts. The main room has the check out counter facing the door in the center of the room, so you can explore to either side: Lots of candle varieties including some made in state, lots of items with clever witticisms to make you think or smile, women's bags, wall hangings, and seasonal (Easter) pieces to add some charm to your home. And when you think you've seen it all, there is another room to the left that has even more items including rugs, lap quilts, and other cloth items. More seasonal items were out in preparation for the weekend sale. The woman who was working apologized for the store being in transition, but it was still neat enough that I wouldn't have known there was anything out of place unless she had told me. She let me browse and asked how I had heard about the shop. I was surprised that nobody had reviewed her store yet on Yelp. When I was ready to make a purchase, she immediately stopped what she was doing so that I didn't have to wait. That's a person who gets customer service. This house turned shop is located just a short distance north of downtown Columbus. It takes a bit…read moreof attention to approach since the neighborhood is filled with "one way" streets. Once you find it, there is street parking on Home Ave and a small lot on the property, both options free. You enter the shop on the northeast end of the building. There is a showroom of items that give you an instant feel of nicely arranged decor and furniture with the checkout counter in the back of this room. The rest of the business is arranged in an oval pattern of rooms that let you easily flow through the shop and finish back at the checkout. Along the way, I found a couple brands of candles gathered into displays, and lots of furniture; some painted, some still with original finish. I even found a hallway filled with dog treats! But mainly, there are lots of antique items that are in different condition dispersed among home decor accessories and furniture. If anything, the orderliness and open spacing feel almost empty compared to the majority of antique shops I have visited that are packed to overflowing. It made for a nice change of pace when antiquing. Because of the nice displays, it can be inspirational to shoppers for possible ways to display the items in their own homes. Products vary from local consignments by local artisans to cool clothing simply in stock. Some clothing, some funky jewelry, some houseware type stuff like wall hangings and dish towels and the like, some super cute toddler clothes. Not a huge store, but one of those places that are somewhat overload for your eyes in the abundant beautiful displays of product. Owner on sight and staff super friendly and welcoming. As downtown Terre Haute continues to evolve, this store seems like a cool, hip, funky, fun addition to the ever expanding options in the area. Go visit!

Finally got help when we said out loud "Maybe we can find someone who works here". No real help was offered. We asked about bedroom furniture and were told that they mostly work with designers. Oh, really? We looked at area rugs and window coverings, but again, no assistance was offered even though there was absolutely no one else in the store. So...maybe we don't look like we can afford their furnishings? Maybe we aren't their type of customer? We definitely felt like they had no time for us. We took our business across town, purchased everything we wanted at Distinctive Furnishings and even ordered some of the exact items we saw at Etc from Distinctive Furnishings at a lower price point. Beautiful store, but the customer service is sorely lacking. We won't sully their store with our presence again.

This antique mall is on 52 between Lebanon and Lafayette surrounded by corn fields. The mall has…read morebeen here many years with about 50 dealers. We've been here many times, but rarely buy. Today, big sales with some booths offering up to 75% off. Booths were bursting with glassware and knick knacks. It was difficult to see stuff, as some booths were very cluttered. Some booths are so small that only one person can enter at a time. Other booths are immaculate and well organized. The clerks are friendly, but not intrusive. We did not find the plates we were looking for, but I am sure there were treasures somewhere. There is plenty of close parking and access ramp for strollers and wheel chairs. They do have a public restroom and also sell sodas.
