I am late in posting my review for our stay that occurred 9/19 - 9/23. Our stay ended just a few days before Hurricane Helene. Please read my entire review, particularly the end. Excellent stay! Second time at Asheville Cottaged and we cannot say enough about the experience. They think of everything to make your experience top notch! We arrived and were feeling a little snacky. No problem! The snack tree and variety of waters/soft drinks/juiced beverages in the fridge were welcome! We browsed the binder for suggestions on where to grab dinner. After dinner at White Duck Taco, we stopped Ingles for a few groceries. Of course, Tracie and Marshall made sure each cottage had an Ingels savings card to use! Need a battery? Under the kitchen sink. Ziplock bag? Yep..,check a drawer in kitchen. They think of everything you may need and have it on hand for you! Loved the soaking tub! Loved the heated bathroom floor. Loved heated toilet seat. Accidentally hit a button on the bidet in the middle of the night and got a little surprise rinse off. . The big surprises were seeing a few bears late one afternoon behind the cottage (Magnolia). Thankfully, we just sat quietly on the deck and they looked at us and took off for the woods. Overall, it was a great trip and on the flight home, I started to look at availability to come back for a girls trip later in the Fall with my sister and niece. But before I could book anything, Hurricane Helene severely impacted the area. My heart breaks for all the families who lost loved ones in this disaster. By finding them on social media to see if they were ok, I found out that thankfully Asheville Cottages did not sustain much damage due to their location. Since Asheville tourism is essentially stopped, Tracie and Marshall have graciously opened their cottages to local families who have been displaced by the hurricane as they still have electricity and water. They also are still paying their employees salaries during this time (as they did during Covid) - taking care of them like family. THIS is exactly the kind of small business that my husband and I are proud to support so we will be staying at Asheville Cottages next time we come to Asheville...whenever that can happen. read more

Multiple stays here at Asheville Cottages and our first in the "Willow Cottage." What a perfect stay. Our Willow Cottage was even cleaner than the high bar all other reviewers had set. Fully equipped kitchen, new appliances, great WIFI, TV's and SAT reception. Bed and bathroom were perfect. On the road and exploring all that Asheville has to offer, we enjoy starting the day enjoying coffee on the porch and fixing breakfast at our own pace so Asheville Cottages couldn't be any better for us. The best place in Asheville by far! This is our 9th visit to Asheville cottages and I can not say enough good things about them. Sometimes we go just my husband and I and get the one bedroom, and other times we take our nieces and get the two bedroom. Every cottage we've stayed in has been beautifully done with so many thoughtful touches (and it really is the cleanest place you'll stay). Their outside area is always well maintained and so peaceful. We finally had a chance to meet the owners, Marshall and Tracie and they are just beautiful folks and so kind. They work so hard to create a wonderful place for people to visit. Every time we stay with them it is always a relaxing, peaceful and memorable trip. I highly, highly recommend them! read more

We were a couple (30 y.o.) who stayed in March over spring break from graduate school in Virginia. We stayed for 3 or 4 nights and cooked often. This stay was an "exceeds expectations" experience from the moment we opened the door only to see a spotless and well furnished cottage, complete with a very generous welcome bowl filled with candies, snacks, and bottled water! We looked into the bathroom and bedroom and back deck to "omggg" reactions, literally. Floors, baseboards, counters, sinks, bathtub, toilet, and all surfaces were dust-free and spotless. The unit is so just so attractive. What matters most, the space. This is no small place. The living room is at least 1.5x size of the bedroom with lots of walking space and room for our bags. I imagine a mom, dad, and up to 2 kids could stay here comfortably. Even a third child if they were going to be in a pack & play or stay on the floor. All the kitchen pots, dishes, pans, silverware, and appliances felt brand new and in-style. The owners are so thoughtful, there was even a sponge and cleaning stuff under the kitchen sink (we re-used a skillet in cooking dinner). There was a small selection of spices too! Cooking was so easy. The added extras on a chilly night were very nice and we enjoyed them: the gas fireplace (controlled by a wall switch) and the hot tub on the back deck (it snowed on us while we were in it! So cool!) It took less than 5minutes to drive into downtown Asheville. There is a grocery store just down the street that had everything we needed. I would highly highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay at a very nice cottage - It is impossible for you to stay here and be disappointed! read more

If you are looking to get out of a hotel and into a little home away from home then I recommend staying here . My husband and I have been traveling for 3 weeks and are sick of hotels . This place is really clean , cozy and everything you need . We really enjoyed the hot tub and sitting on the rocking chair front porches . It's a convenient location to everything . Very quiet and down a gravel road in the woods . We did hear a knock on our door or ceiling every night but didn't know where it came from , It lasted for hours .. that's the only negative but Talked to the owner and he said oh that's happened before . Hence , he said it could be a ghost .... he said they can't figure out where it's coming from . It did happen again to us even though he though he tried fixing something , but that was not it . I don't mind a ghost banging on my door but if your not scared , then maybe go here for Halloween ... lol read more

The location is in a quiet, private, wooded area, but you still have quick access to downtown Asheville and restaurants. read more

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. It's so quiet and tucked away that's it hard to believe your only minutes from downtown Asheville and about a 20 minute drive to Brevard (pisgah natl forest). We stayed in the Willow cottage for our anniversary weekend with our 1 year old. The place was beautiful and we were provided with everything we needed for our stay- linens, dishes, cooking utensils, washer dryer, soap, dishwasher, snacks, drinks, games, books, pack and play, lounge robes, etc.. THE cottage included a hot tub, gas grill, and patio seating on the secluded deck. The hot tub was great- we just took the cover off and hopped in. I can't say enough about this place and how amazing it was. Don't stay anywhere else in asheville. This is the place to be. read more

Asheville Cottages - The "Willow" - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Asheville, North Carolina

I'm hesitant to even make the initial review here as this is the perfect vacation spot that I'd love to keep to myself forever. But I owe it to the owners who have put a lot of work into making this a great spot to enjoy a vacation in Asheville. Located a very short drive (5 minutes) to downtown Asheville you're just far enough away to be in your own little world. The cottage we stayed in was attached to another unit but you'd never know it. The decor inside was very sophisticated and had all the amenities of home. A gas fireplace, large jacuzzi out on the back covered patio, gas grill, super comfy sleep number bed, hi-def televisions in both the living room and bedroom, HUGE bathroom, and last but not least two white robes which became our second skin while on vacation. The price was very reasonable considering the time of season and the lovely accommodations and location. Why pay for a small hotel room when you can have a gorgeous mountain cottage to yourself? I look forward to visiting again and know Asheville Cottages will be my home away from home when visiting Asheville in the future. read more

My husband and I are in Asheville for a couple days on our honeymoon and we found Asheville Cottages while searching for a place to stay. Let me begin by saying this is the best experience each of us have ever had staying somewhere. From the basket of goodies on the counter, to the heated towel rack and floors in the bathroom, this was an experience that we won't soon forget!! We let the owners know that we would be here on our honeymoon and they and the housekeeper were so kind to leave us sweet handwritten notes wishing us well in our new journey together. We truly couldn't have asked for a better place to start married life. We will definitely be back for some anniversaries! read more

This is a wonderfully well designed, comfortable, unique place to stay in Asheville--like having your own quiet and secluded home just outside of town. Others have told you about the amenities, the main thing I can add is simply that the people who own and manage this place understand the needs and wants of the traveler. They cover all of what you'd expect and then, provide some of the special touches you don't. I recommend it without hesitation. By the way, don't miss The North Carolina Arboretum--it's just a mile or two south and well worth a visit. read more

This was an awesome vacation place in the middle of nowhere with quiet surrounding. The cottage itself is self sufficient if you get groceries and cook/grill. The cottage was well maintained and clean. Bathroom has heated floor and towel heater. Hot tub was prepared for us and heated. We did not get to use the fireplace because it was a surprisingly warm day in November, but I'm sure it will help to make the cottage even more cosy in the winter. It has a full kitchen with basic amenities, sauces and condiments. The host also gave us some complimentary drinks and food-bites. It's near the Asheville outlet and a short drive to downtown Asheville. This would have a perfect score if they offer better coffee, but otherwise, there's really nothing much to complain about. Better than hotel!!! Definitely exceeded my expectation! read more

First of all, my wife and I do a fair amount of traveling - we are always in search of a new adventure, and we rely heavily on user reviews to make the right decisions! So naturally, when I read the reviews for Asheville Cottages, I knew we had found our home for the week. Of all the places we've stayed during our various trips, Asheville Cottages is among our favorites. We recently spent a week in "The Aspen" and loved every minute of it! The attention to detail is something you simply don't find anywhere else, at least not in our experiences. The location is perfect, not far from downtown and only about a three minute drive to the infamous Blue Ridge Pkwy, which we thoroughly enjoyed! The cottages themselves are nestled in the woods and hidden just off of a gravel road - very quiet setting and although we could at times see our neighbors out the window, we never heard them! As for the owners, we felt incredibly welcome. If there was anything we needed throughout our stay that wasn't already provided, they made it known to us that they were just a phone call away. The Asheville Cottages truly are a home away from home, and we can't wait to return! read more

As a seasoned traveler and a marketing professional with a discerning eye towards customer service, I have to give a "hats off" to the owners of Asheville Cottages. I have been to Asheville many times only to stay at the "grand convention hotel" ....always leaving with a big bill and not the best customer service. The staff of Asheville Cottages literally thought of everything. We could have arrived in the middle of the night and had everything we needed - creamer, coffee, breakfast food. It was a delight to wake up and enjoy coffee on the front porch, wine on the back porch and a soothing hot tub after a long hike. The location was perfect. Uber was there within minutes when we wanted to go have a night on the town. We will never stay anywhere else! Thank you to this amazing family who truly thought of every detail. Kudos! read more

Ten years ago, we honeymooned to Asheville Cottages and haven't been able to get back until this year, when we celebrated our ten year anniversary. We knew we wanted to stay with Asheville Cottages again because of the excellent experience we had in 2009. This 2019 trip was no different. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home, like we were back on our honeymoon, with the care and attention shown to the cottage but also us as guests. * Without spoiling the experience for anyone who visits, I will say the attention to detail is evident throughout the cottage, the desire to serve and love their guests well is all over the place, and they go above and beyond hospitality. We were greeted with sweet surprises from the owners and housekeeper and everything we needed was supplied for a luxurious stay. Both inside and outside the cottage, across the entire property, there are details reminding you that Tracie and Marshall and their team truly desire for your stay to be the best. * Asheville Cottages is a perfect place to getaway. This is truly the most comfortable place I've ever stayed while traveling. We stayed in the Aspen cottage. It was spotlessly clean and everything looked brand-new. It is decorated beautifully--hardwood floors, high ceilings, beautiful molding, even uniquely styled interior doors. It is a family run business and the owners have thought of absolutely every detail you can imagine. The kitchen is fully stocked with high-end cutlery, cooking utensils, and small and large appliances. Even the smallest details have been anticipated--such as stocking multiple sizes of ziplock baggies! There is a huge bowl of complimentary snacks and breakfast foods (smartfood popcorn, nature valley granola bars, reeses candy, quaker oatmeal, packaged muffins). They provide multiple kinds of coffee and a fancy restaurant style box filled with teas. In the fridge there are a few sodas, bottled water, and juice, as well as two kinds of coffee creamer. I'm going into this much detail because I'm trying to give a sense of the spirit of generosity that the owners convey. In the bathroom you will find extra touches like stacks of extra towels and about 6 extra rolls of toilet paper, a night light, fancy shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (Gilchrist and Soames brand). In the bedroom, the sleep number bed is incredibly comfortable and the sheets are extra soft. Even the HVAC system is quiet, with no annoying clicks or noises as I usually find when I'm away from home. The best way to describe this place is if you can imagine you had a friend with impeccable decorating taste who was also obsessive about cleanliness and comfort. It's as if this friend built a new house and invited you to stay in it as her first-ever guests, and before you got there she stocked it full of things to make you feel well taken care of.
