My daughter had her molds taken and we waited, and waited and waited for the treatment to start. Finally the call came, not to tell us she was ready with the Invisalign but to tell us that she was moving, that all of the records were reviewed and the same course of treatment along with costs were accepted by another orthodontist. We learned that nothing had been started though we were strung along. We learned from this other orthodontist that the price was not agreed upon and there was an increase of $1200. We also learned that the molds taken months earlier and the records were never transferred over and that new molds would be needed. We did receive a check back from Dr. Pardo for the down payment but that's not enough. She accepted our money and gave us false hopes on the course of treatment. She lied to us and as a result of those lies we are now faced with an increase of $1200, a significant delay in the treatment for my daughter, and a change in the treatment process. She made a decision to take our money (cash) KNOWING she was moving. She lied to us that the fees and procedure had been discussed and approved by the new orthodontist KNOWING that it hadn't been discussed and KNOWING that the fee structure was not going to be the same. The course of treatment was not agreed upon. I cannot recommend someone that repeatedly lies. Sorry Dr. Pardo but you have cost us a significant amount of money and now refuse to return our calls. YOUR LIES HAVE COST US.

I started my treatment with the previous owner of the practice who fell ill and suddenly had to sell the practice. Dr. Pardo took over my treatment after only a few months of my braces being on. I have to just say, Dr. Pardo and her staff never let me down. She took over my case and reassured me that getting braces was the best decision I had made for myself. Even though she had taken over my treatment that another Doctor had started, I never felt out of the loop about anything. Everything went so smooth and I was out of braces a few months earlier than I was told in the beginning. I am so happy with the results of my treatment. I have a gorgeous smile that I love showing off. I am getting married in two months and Dr. Pardo and her staff worked with me every step of the way to make sure my braces were off in time. It is a full year later and he still does not have his braces. Even given the understandable delay caused by COVID, this is excessively slow. We moved to Holliston recently and, thankfully, my three older sons received their orthodontic treatment from competent orthodontists. Their appointments were held every month (this ortho schedules appts only every 6-10 weeks). We made the mistake of paying for a significant portion of my son's treatment upfront, so when I tried to switch orthodontists, Simply Ortho was going to pocket thousands of dollars for not doing the contracted work. Financially, we are stuck with them at this point. I am writing this review to warn others. When I complained to the office about the delays, I was treated rudely by the office mgr Ashley. When I asked to speak with the orthodontist himself, I was told I could leave a message. I've left three messages for Dr Carlotto and have not been able to speak with the orthodontist. In addition to the delayed conclusion of having braces (my son would like to start braces so he can eventually be free of braces -- we'd hoped before high school started but at this rate we may be looking at before college), the other problem caused by the infrequency of appts is that the pre-braces brackets he does have come off much more than was experienced by my older sons' actual braces, but they were seen on a regular schedule. When brackets break, wires poke into delicate gums and cheeks, causing pain and it is impossible to secure timely attention to this. When you call with a non-working hour emergency, you're instructed to leave an email rather than being able to speak to someone on the phone. This is a horrible orthodontic practice and I advise everyone in Middlesex County to find a orthodontist from another practice.

Additional dental expenses are never really good news for parents (and my son has a developmental disability, which means any kind of medical visit is potentially problematic for him). We found EVERYONE at Lakewood Park to be very sensitive to my son's needs, ALWAYS welcoming and extremely professional, and the cost of care to be very reasonable. My son actually enjoyed visits to the office (there are video games for kids in the waiting area, which was a treat.!) and the wonderful staff was always so nice to him that I think he considered it a visit to see some friends who "just so happened" to also be interested in his teeth! Best of all, the treatment was EFFECTIVE so we haven't needed to go back for some time, but you can bet that when my son requires further orthodontic care in the not-so-distant future, we wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

She had terrible interaction skills with my 4 year old who is new to a dental office (2nd/3rd time). My child had a cavity identified during the initial visit that needed to be addressed. We came back over for the follow up where initially with the [perfectly lovely and child-centered] hygienist, we were told that my child could sit on my lap to make the experience more comfortable for her. The dentist proceeded to come in, and told us it wasn't going to work like that and that she would have to sit on her own to get the procedure done. I don't know if anyone else has ever dealt with 4 year olds, but when one set of expectations is set and then pulled off the table, it typically doesn't go well. As I was comforting her, I can hear Dr. Himelhoch in the background tell my child "Well, you don't really have an option" AS MY CHILD IS CRYING. Then, she proceeded to ask if I needed assistance in restraining my child to get her in the seat. Finally, when my child is inconsolable, she suggested getting the infant lap seat. If that was an option, why wasn't that the initial suggestion instead of waiting for the inconsolable child to get to that level. When I finally told them I did not want to go forward to it today as it was out of control at that point, she then proceeded to address my child with a "I'm very disappointed in you for making this so difficult for you mom." WHAT?!?

The staff is great, and just as importantly Dr. Himelhoch cares. There have been at least two incidents where I called in while the office was closed for vacation, and she called back personally and met me in her office outside of work hours. Nothing bad to say, sometimes busy and you have to wait a little but they do keep things moving in the office.

Dr. Moynihan is a contracted provider with MetLife. Instead, he confirmed that he would collect payments from MetLife and bill me additionally for my son's orthodontic treatment. He also misled me, stating that my dental insurance would not cover images, braces fitting, and other services associated with the orthodontic work. He didn't even offer a treatment plan but started discussing finances immediately. When I told him he must adhere to the legal contract he signed with MetLife, he refused to provide care. Instead, he wanted to charge me $6,500 + additional charges for orthodontic work.

I really didn't want to go to a dentist again so soon after my last visit to my previous dentist only 2 months ago but I'm really glad I made the trip to Moynihan Dental Specialists. The experience was so much more personal than any of the offices I've been to in Boston. Right away I was greeted by a friendly face upon my arrival. I didn't have to wait very long either before my name was called. Dr. Leung showed me everything and explained what I was seeing so that I could understand the danger I was facing after part of my filling came out. He was very patient and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole appointment and spent a good amount of time making sure my bite was perfect and didn't feel uncomfortable after the filling was replaced. You can really tell that he cares about his patients. I was even given a free consultation about Invisalign verses braces by Dr. Moynihan which was awesome because I've been wanting to fix my overbite for some time now. Overall the whole office is wonderful. They really go out of their way to making sure their patients leave their office with a smile on their face. Definitely planning on coming back!
