Please think wisely and weigh all your options before purchasing from any Ashley furniture. We purchased a very expensive couch and ottoman in a custom fabric from Ashley in Coralville. We wanted to purchase from somewhere close and since we were furnishing a 2nd home wear and tear is not going to be what it would be if we were living there full time. Within one week of delivery a seam was splitting on the ottoman (which we had never even sat on). Getting repairs is an absolute NIGHTMARE and a complete time suck. From calling to getting someone at the house to look at the issue took 6 weeks. Then 6 weeks to order whatever is needed to fix a seam (apparently we have to replace the entire cushion) and just got a call to schedule Ashley repairs to come out to actually do the repair - they left a message and I called them back within 15 mins - entire month of July for repairs is full. They will call me mid July to book hopefully for August. Mind you the couch was delivered in November. This long for a split seam - by time it is repaired will likely be 9/10 months from purchase. I will never ever ever purchase another piece of furniture from Ashley. Had this gone well i would have purchased more for our place - but nope, bought everything else (and we had to furnish the entire place) at different places. Do better Ashley or be honest with your customers about the repair process if there are issues! read more

5/5 for the customer service we received from Will (I think it was) back in December. My husband and I stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon to look for something we might use as an entertainment stand under our living room television. We walked the whole store and ended up back in the clearance area where Will asked us if anyone else had been assisting us and what it was we were looking for. He spent a decent amount of time listening to us, guiding us around the sales salesfloor, though we didn't end up buying anything. Because what we were looking for was a want and not a need, it made it much easier to walk away from the $700-$1200 prices. They have a massive selection of furniture. I can't speak to the quality because we don't own anything from Ashley. Given the lack of furniture stores in the area, you kind of have no choice but to go here. Especially if you want something new. Recommend for the no-pressure to buy atmosphere, friendliness, and overall variety. read more

The experience in Coralville location started off amazing all went great til delivery, we paid for them to install the furniture and then they pretty much accused my husband and myself of lying and having miscommunication between him and I. They tried acting like it was our fault. The manager told me he'd call me "right back" and I had to call him the next day to check in about the situation in which again, he tried mixing it all around on my husband and I. I even wanted to meet with Jake and Sid(the sales guy) with my husband and I to talk it all through, which he said he'd do but never offered to schedule it, in the end, after I told him I'd take the number to the central office he offered to give our money back that we were owed to begin with. I highly recommend Ashley furniture in Coralville if you're in the need of any furniture. Their staff is very knowledgeable and has a wide selection of Ashley, LazBoy and Flexsteel. Jake was our salesperson and was wonderful to work with. I wanted to upgrade my current LazBoy recliner to the power version. Jake knew exactly what I needed and was able to ship it out fast. The delivery team was also very professional and pleasant. They made sure all was working properly before they left. I just had a very positive and enjoyable experience working with Jamie Peck, Assistant Manager at the Coralville store. I needed to select a replacement for a damaged recliner that was covered by their protection plan. Since I am disabled, going to the store would be difficult and painful. Jamie worked with me via text to explore the options. Turns out that the best answer was ordering the same chair again, which she facilitated smoothly and without complications. Best furniture shopping experience ever! Went in yesterday looking for a mattress and box spring. Had a pretty good idea what we wanted. After a brief wait, we talked with Jake, told him what type of mattress we were interested in. He showed us the relevant options. He never tried to up-sell us to other products. He offered mattress pads and protector but accepted when we said,"no." Very professional and consultative. We showed him what we had shopped on the internet and he matched the mattress price and beat the box springs price. It was in stock in his store. We were done and on our way in 15-20 minutes! Only suggestion would be to have some more staffing in mattresses. We saw two couples come and leave the area without a salesperson contract. In the past I have dreaded furniture shopping..having to go to multiple stores, which was time consuming and frustrating. It has been over 20+ years since our last sofa/loveseat purchase, with the current set now losing support for our aging bodies. It was my very first visit to an Ashley store, in Coralville, to browse and just get a glimpse of what was offered. Mechelle met me as soon as I entered..so friendly & helpful! I soon realized there was an enormous selection of options, variety & the appearance of quality craftmanship was evident. She gave me her card & I returned 5 days later to see about a new couch, loveseat, rocker/recliner & recliner chair. Mechelle was AMAZING! Very professional, so patient with me the entire 2+ hrs I was there answering my questions, & then some! We discussed furniture options, style, comfort/support, product manufacture, measuring & MORE- it was a truly great learning experience which I really appreciated. I went in today just browsing for a few pieces I'll need for my new apartment out of state and was helped by Denise O. We browsed for a while and she helped us check on many things including adding a fireplace to a tv stand and finding the delivery options, dimensions of the furniture, and everything else we needed. After choosing a few items we liked, we realized the prices online were much cheaper and Denise offered to price match. After reviewing everything with Denise, the delivery options made more sense to purchase everything online and coordinate it with my move instead of buying in the store. Right from the start of our conversation, I knew that Christy was a very amiable person. She was so helpful, and she obviously cares about her customer's interests. Christy was absolutely the most patient salesperson I have ever worked with. She didn't try to push me into anything and gave me other options to think about. Update: After months of trying to get this issue with the broken sofa remedied we called our sales rep at Ashley and he along with the manager agreed to pick up the flexsteel sofa and give us a refund. The sales team at Ashley Furniture is awesome however, customer service is useless. We had to continually call and ask to speak with the CS manager who was clueless each time, they only send out techs on Wednesdays and even when we took time off of work he would call us and ask to come earlier or later. The final straw was the tech calling us and saying the part was in, scheduled an appt and then after we took another day off called the day of service and told us the part was lost. All the manager had to say was "Sorry for the human error, ill try to locate the part" and he never called us back. Mind you, the sofa has been stuck in a reclining position for well over a month. I would expect better service for buying a $2000 sofa and a $1000 mattress but here we are. Mind you, we purchased last November after Thanksgiving. I would give 0 stars if I could. read more

We ordered a couch and was suppose to be delivered by march 21st, we purchased this couch mid January, never was contacted that the delivery date change to April 6th, mind your took both days off of work for the delivery. Just so happen to walk through the store today and decided to check on the couch, now they are saying the end of April!!! Again, was never contacted about the change in date! my husband and I were hesitant about waiting two months to get this couch and wanted to look around at other places but decided since they assured us that it would be there March 21st we would be patient. I am beyond upset at the service I am receiving from Ashlie's, I will never come back to this place, I will never recommend their store, And I will make sure everyone that I know that is buying new furniture or looking for a new furniture knows that they are unreliable and dishonest. At least furniture Row, Is in communication with their customers, and the delivery date is accurate. And by golly if the delivery date would change they would compensate their customers and ensure that you knew every detail as soon as they were informed! hate this damn place!
