Had a ring I bought my wife years ago that had the center opal fall out just a few months after I gave it to her. It wasn't a super fancy ring but it had sentimental value so I wanted to eventually get it fixed and I finally did in December. I was sick so I couldn't get it to them until one week before Christmas, but they were still able to get it repaired in time for me to put it in her stocking. Even though I didn't purchase anything from here I have to give them 5 stars and here's why...I took 2 wedding sets in for a diamond to be taken out of one & put into the 2nd one & a new diamond to be placed in the first one. The awesome jeweler there informed me that since I had purchased them from Shane company that I should call them first to confirm that I could have the work done elsewhere without voiding my lifetime warranty. My daughter and her fiancé went here to look at wedding rings and found one they really like. They showed the jeweler which ring they wanted but instead of giving them the one in the case the jeweler took a identical set from under the counter. When we got home I was looking at her ring and noticed that the clarity of the diamond was not as good as the one in the case also the diamond had two flaws in it black spots. When we called the jeweler we were told the ring was not returnable for a full refund. read more

I also had a bad experience with them! We purchased a beautiful wedding set from them, but I didn't want a real diamond (my chocie not my husbands btw). They replaced the diamond with a really nice imitation diamond, (we still paid quiet a bit for it) but they made me feel like I was being really cheap for not buying a real diamond. Then when the stone came loose and I went back they gave me big time attitude, said they couldn't guarantee it and charged me for fixing something that was their issue in the first place. The owner did an appraisal for me on a ring I had purchased in another State. Instead of doing his own appraisal, all he did was copied a previous appraisal of the ring. When I questioned him on why he copied the appraisal and still charged me $60 he became very rude, and confrontational. I will NEVER use them, and will tell everyone I can to keep away from this business. read more

We purchased a wedding ring and are very happy with it. We just changed insurance policies and they required us to get a more recent appraisal since the original appraisal was done three years ago. I contacted Boucher's and was informed that a new appraisal would cost $49. Maybe I'm wrong but I figured I wouldn't have to spend another $49 after spending thousands of dollars just three years ago. I guess customer service isn't what it used to be. I will have the appraisal done by someone else for the same cost strictly out of principle. read more

I had my wife's engagement ring upgraded to wedding ring. We had in mind what we wanted (adding one thin wedding band to each side for symmetry). He helped us narrow in on the design and custom made the rings and put them all together beautifully, as if it was all made together from scratch. Later I inherited a railroad pocket watch from my great grandfather. It has worked since he had it (maybe 75 years ago). They made it run again and cleaned it all up. I do try and shop local. My experience today with Boucher's sales lady was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in years. It was one thing after another--- a) I was misquoted a price, of course it became much more expensive when I came in to buy my item, b) the item also had an expensive shipping charge added on that was not given to me in previous conversation, c) the sales lady was snarky, extremely unfriendly, and was absolutely not interested in listening, in making the situation right from misinformation between herself and the original sales person who helped me, d) items were ordered that I didn't ask for and could not be used for what I wanted, and e) she never apologized for the confusion/never went to an owner in the back to ask what could be done/she let me leave the store frustrated and upset. They do poor workmanship, then they are rude when you take it back. But they can fix it for another 300 dollars. Stay way from them.

Unless you have verified and complete descriptions of your jewelery and have them sign off on what you're leaving don't trust them with your pieces. I took a very heavy, wide, thick 14k gold ring with a stone in to be sized up 1/2 size and they either replaced the whole setting or carved the ring's gold away to the barest amount. Most of the ring is gone! The whole band is now so thin and narrow that it doesn't resemble the one I took in at all. They deny everything of course and have all of their comebacks ready to state including "people don't look at their jewelery that closely, We'd never do that, it's against our policy, how would we stay in business this long, our reputation would be jeopardized,it's normal to loose some band size when the sizing is done, etc." They not only steal from you, they turn the tables and try to make it appear that you're trying to falsely accuse them to gain something.
