Bought a sectional. Obviously very expensive. None of the sections stay hooked together. Called, sent someone out, he clicked them in and said we need to put rubber bottoms on the feet to keep couch from moving, they will come apart on laminate flooring. When they came to deliver those items, it looked so beautiful, but the next day the legs fell off the ottoman and the sofa. The Bedroom (2 nite stands, $292.00, 1 full panel bed, $320.00, 1 10inch coil mattress, $404.49, 1 chest of drawers, $657.00. Total cost 1,773.90. I started searching on line and found the same exact set from MMFurniture.com Chest of drawers $285.00 Night stands $135. ×2 Panel bed $285.7 Total cost online $842.00 I paid $1,269. Plus $404.49 for the coil mattress. Hind sight I should have gone to MMFURNITURE.COM to save $400-$500 Not only do they not correct what their assemblers messed up but they ignore you. I purchased a bedroom set April 2021. I expected some delays because the country was still dealing with Covid. Eventually I did receive my bedroom set August 2021. The delivery man informed me the handle and screws for the nightstand was missing and I'd have to contact the store for assistance. I was surprised the store manager informed me I'd have to contact the service department myself for this issue. The service department is in Philly. Well, after 6 months of calling the service department with no results, I'd had it and decided to file a lawsuit since they breached the contract. As I was preparing my paperwork, I finally received a call from Ashley that the handle was in and they'd install it. The moral of the story is if anything is missing from your furniture delivery, Ashley furniture leaves you to your own devices to get the missing parts ON YOUR OWN! read more

UPDATE: After checking the product at the Ashley HomeStore website, we found out that we'd been overcharged for both the furniture and the protection plan. I went to cancel the order and delivery, and they made me go into the store to begin the cancellation process (they won't cancel over the phone and then process a refund later). I have never been so unsatisfied with a furniture store. I purchased a sectional, ottoman, and a recliner in March and have heard nothing from the company. I was told when I bought it that it would be 8-10 weeks. It has been more than double that time and all I've gotten was the run around from customer service. "It should happen next week" is literally the response I've gotten each week. I ask for a call back when they "hear back from the other warehouse." I called today only to hear that it would be hopefully October 3rd. If their associates would just say that it would be 6-8 months, I'd be fine. Just be honest with timelines. Ordered a sectional from this location and at the time of purchase thoroughly reviewed the configuration that we wanted with the salesperson. We were assured of the pieces we needed to order to achieve that configuration, but when the pieces were delivered they were oriented incorrectly so the configuration was not correct. This was after waiting 2 weeks for delivery. I called the store expecting them to either expedite the delivery of the correct pieces OR provide a discount on the item in the form of a partial refund (I would have been content with either), but they refused and instead quoted me another 2-6 week delivery period. Because of this interaction, they've absolutely lost a customer and I hope this serves as a warning to others that (at least this location) Ashley Furniture is not worth doing business with. read more

This was my first time at Ashley HomeStore - and I'm really glad I decided to check it out! Kimberly was so patient (I am extremely indecisive and my mother doesn't help lol). They were more than accommodating and I was able to pick out my new living room sofa and loveseat! Even the checkout process was smooth. The staff was so polite and kind! The store itself has a nice selection. Even after leaving, Kimberly called a few days after to keep me updated about the delivery and what to expect. Horrible experience picking up my furniture. Was told I was given a week to pick up a bed room set. Had sprained my ankle and ended up in the hospital moving into my new home. I Began speaking with the manager Anthony Capetola but he became very hostile and told my family we actually had only 48 hours as stated on the contract (which was contracting what he been told to us initially) and he would be returning the furniture and giving store credit. The manager would not give me his supervisors name or number and continued to talk down on us. Terrible customer service and now we have to find furniture elsewhere. read more

I would never come back to this location. First of all, our salesperson while nice was incompetent. We had to return 3 times prior to delivery to sort out his mistakes. (Not including things in the order, undercharging us, etc.) Also, our items were delivered damaged. I refused to sign for them, and the delivery guys stood there and tried to strong arm me into doing it. So I just signed "DAMAGED ITEMS" on the line. One delivery guy said that the store manager would handle it, and the other delivery guy told me Deliver Guy #1 could get fired for saying that and they could not make any promises that it would be resolved. The store manager doesn't care in the slightest. Absolutely no attempts have been made to resolve. I'll forever be bitter in our cracked $2,000 bedroom set, and from now on ALWAYS shop at Elkton or Bel Air. read more

I made a recent purchase in Ashley Furniture at the Bear DE location and I wish we would have gone somewhere else. After making two previous large furniture purchases at a New Jersey location we had a set of expectations that were really left far short. We were willing to spend MORE, and had with Ashley twice previously. We also expect to get what we pay for in better service which was not the case. We went into the showroom at the Bear location looking for the specific cabinet that would match the dining room set we had purchased a few years ago. After planning to pick up this match to our set for about a year and prices not being available on the Ashley site, we had found the exact piece in a few other places online all listed for hundreds of dollars below the price at Ashley. We were told they did not price match, then dangled a hundred dollar discount only for it to be yanked away after we had agreed to the purchase because we also wanted to use the interest free financing that they had been advertising. I wish we would have just pulled the plug then, but we had waited for a while to get the cabinet and were really looking forward to having it for a family holiday dinner. We had discussed picking up the cabinet with the representative, but got the impression that it was better to have it delivered. If we picked it up we would have to take it out of the packaging and inspect it at the place we had to go to get the cabinet, and we didn't think this was a good idea. We would have to take it home unwrapped and if we missed some defect then we would be stuck. We decided it was best to pay more to have it delivered, +$150 I think (we had gotten free delivery from NJ to DE the two previous times but were again told there's nothing they can do). We were told it would take two weeks or so for delivery before we left the store. My husband was called the next day and told it would be longer before it arrived, maybe another week. After 3 weeks went by with no word he called back and spoke to a few people being transferred between the store and delivery center for a while, then got probably a store manager who said that the piece wouldn't even be manufactured for another week and a half. We wouldn't know anything until then, no guarantee, and again they explained, nothing they can do. We still haven't heard anything else on delivery, and can only imagine how that will go. We have spend thousands at Ashley. We furnished most of our home there, little by little, over the past few years. WE WILL NEVER SPEND A DIME THERE AGAIN! Such a mistake. Don't waste your money at Ashley, especially the location in Bear. Living in the area I watched them build and open this location and always wondered why the parking lot was completely empty. Visited this location for the first time. Had previously shop at this store chain in Virginia with no disappointment. This store had a great floor samples selection, although space is smaller than previously stores visited. We were helped by Brent K. as our salesman. He was friendly and not pushy, gave us our space to shop and discuss at ease but reachable for any questions. They have a big self help shopping digital catalog for additional models not on display due to space. You can save the models of interest in a shopping cart but with no prices (that's a boomer). The salesman will give you the quotes and any sales discounts available in your selections. We had a budget which they were able to come down to. Delivery is available at $75 (covers installation until you are fully satisfied, great deal). Furniture delivery date is a bit long for our purchase so not sure if it's relevant to inventory. Overall, a good experience and priced at discount with room for negotiation. read more

After posting a 5 star review I realized I had made a terrible mistake. After purchasing a living room set and couches. The customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. The employees give false information and neither does the store or the warehouse have any idea what they are talking about and can not find any answers for my issues. "All I can do Sr. Is send a email and wait" is the answer i have received over and over again and have never received a follow up call I have had to reach out to them.I had purchased coffee table that has been damaged multiple times and yet to have it fixed and it has been over two months. Each and every time I call there is a new excuse. I will leave a photo of what I am dealing with now. Just to show I am not making a false review. Not the store wants to send service to fix it and it is supposed to be a new piece. Be careful with these people they are crooks in the sense of customer service. If I could give negative stars, I would. Bought a bedroom set in February and paid for it up front. Just received a partial delivery yesterday (August) . Everything but the bed frame. At the time of the sale we were told we would hear from someone in a month or two to schedule delivery. More like never and we had to call the store for a month to get someone to answer just to get the run around and never get to a supervisor. They were never around and never got the numerous messages left. After that I got online to complain just to be told this store is privately owned and not a corporate store. Then they gave us a number to the main office which ended up being a little more helpful. Instead had to go to the store and found the regional manager there. Finally got the answers but still had to wait another three weeks and call to remind him. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Only reason I never got a refund was because the wife really wanted this set and not wanting to go start another wait time anywhere else. This post is being nice too. read more

When we went to cancel the order it took us four visits for a number of reasons such as there was no manager on duty etc. And I finally reached the manager he was insulting to us and we cannot even evaluate or correctly calculate the amount of a refund that we were owed. I would rather the sales person as well as the store Manger to be honest and tell me a piece or in my case (several pieces!) are on back order!! And tell me that they do not expect these pieces until mid October when I've purchased in mid July!!! We bought a couch at this branch and were told that delivery will be after 2 weeks and we were fine with that. They came to our apartment the sectional won't fit the elevator. I asked the delivery guys if we can try to use the stairs instead and they checked the stairs and said it won't fit either, but this time they did not even try! What they did was just an estimate. These delivery people are not very helpful. Not even trying. I asked them if we could possibly detach a part of the couch and try to fit it in but they said NO. He then justified that he knows better because he's been doing this for 5 years, yeah right. These might be the same guys that has been delivering all Delaware and the reason why Ashley got 1 star. The customer service lady on the phone was not the nicest either, not helpful at all. It's like, it won't fit so we will take the furniture back. What a service. Crystal and Sammie were awesome! They helped me locate a couch in a very obscure color and helped arrange pickup the same day. Would've been a very tedious and exhausting process as four other furtniture stores were either unable to assist or had no idea what I was talking about. Crystal verified the color and model I wanted throughout the process to ensure accurate ordering. Sammie contacted the distrubtion center and ensured that same day pickup was obtainable. so I ordered 2 darcy sofas, first delivery was scheduled 1/6/2021 between 3-7pm they showed up 1/2 hour early and I was not home. Next delivery was 1/22/2021 2 sofas showed up but they were blue, not what I ordered. I chose gray/silver, these are blue. Really pretty but not what I picked. Called today and would have to pay 315.00 restocking fee. Store could not assist. I showed the color I wanted 3 times to the sales person, think he was the manager. I will never shop there again. Got my couch today after almost 5 months of waiting. Movers were amazing! So nice so professional....but the couch is broke! Springs out, filling out- it was bad. The movers were very professional but Ashley home store customer service- Maureen, absolutely not. Not understanding, not trying to work with us, no offers, nothing! The workers at the Bear store made all these false promises and then leaves customer service to deal with it. Then Maureen tried to say we would have a pick up fee- no mam. The movers (so kind and awesome) packed the couch back up. Ashley Homestore- Have some accountability for your company. One of the worst customer service I have ever received. Ordered a bedroom set that they stated will come in between 6-8 weeks. 8 weeks come by and when I called (because they didn't have the decency to call me) they stated it was on backorder and will be 16 weeks from original order date. Fine, so I asked for a refund because I didn't want to wait that long. This took a week of them giving me the run around to include Andrea (office manager and nastiest person) and Bruce (General Manager). They first stated that they needed corporate approval for a refund. Then I'm told their system have been down and couldn't process my refund. The GM told me to return the next day and he will process me the refund. Show up to find out he was not there that day. Andrea proceeded to be nasty and charge me a 10% restocking fee for something I haven't received and it was pushed out further than I was told.
