Inept and terrible customer service. Last year I bought an $8000 mattress set from this Ashley store. After ordering, almost 2 months went by without any communication about delivery. Upon contacting the store they told us it had been in the warehouse for quite some time and they never reached out to setup delivery. They said they would look into what they could do for the trouble (we didn't really ask for anything) and they provided us a $250 credit that we actually never got notice from anyone at the store we got it just showed up via an electronic commmunication. Recently we got an email that the credit would be expiring soon so we went back to the store and picked out a coffee table. There was a small balance to be paid via credit cardwhich we did. A few days later we get a call that there's was fine print to the credit that was never disclosed that we had to spend, at least double the credit amount to use the credit. We told the person who called we'll just take a refund of the credit card amount. and to cancel the order. The refund never occured so we went down today and got the refund per the store manager, who just processed the transaction, and after hearing the story did nothing else. I will literally spend my money anywhere else in the future. To have a courtesy credit transaction to make up for a previous customer service issue be handled this way is an indication of that company's commitment to customer service, which is apparently non existent. read more

Do not buy Ashley furniture. We had our couch delivered on December 22, 2024. The couch cushions literally sank within a month and we are still trying to get it fixed. Dealing with their customer care is a nightmare. Have been told- things aren't made like they used to be, that my husband is overweight and he sits on it too long. Still waiting for a customer care manager to call back. Have called every week for months. I've had a warranty guy out twice. No action. The couches no longer have coils or supports. They are trampolines that sink. Obviously a terrible design that they didn't test properly. My old couch was an Ashley. I can assure you, things at Ashley are no longer made like they used to be. read more

Do not buy furniture from Ashley's, Morris, or any of the store associated. My fiance and I recently got an apartment and we need to buy furniture for it, unfortunately, we were not very experienced in this area and went to Ashley's Furniture. We found a dining room set and a coffee table, the total came to 971 dollars. The dining room table was delivered scratched. To get ahold of Ashley's they recommended their online chat feature whose only purpose is to frustrate the customer into giving up on a resolution. I finally got ahold of the store and they sent a technician out who could not repair the table. As I waited for his report so I could get a replacement table, my coffee table was delivered, and surprisingly that was also damaged. I was tired of going through their live chat feature just to end up on the phone for hours, so I went in person to get my money back. I talked to the sales team and they scheduled a pick up of my items, little did I realize they forgot to schedule my coffee table to be picked up with the damaged dining room table, so I spent another day going into the store where their customer service team tried to blame me for not reporting the damaged item within 3 days, but I was in the store the same day it was delivered. After two Saturdays spent waiting on the delivery team all day to come pick up my items, because they never come in the time slot they give, I finally had the furniture out of the apartment. I wish I could say my journey was over but Ashley's had one more trick up its sleeve by canceling my refund and acting like nothing happened on their end, after calling them and them just turning it back on me I got my credit card company involved to cancel the original payment. With that being said this is the worst shopping experience I've ever had, please never buy anything from this shady low-level store!!! read more

No star rating deserved! The people are nice but the service in my situation is bad. Aug 16, 2025 I ordered living room furniture and paid for it in cash. HUGE MISTAKE!!! They cancelled my order a week later and said Ashley furniture discontinued what I ordered. They told me I would get my money back within 2 weeks. I have spoken to 3 clerks and 2 general managers and all I get is " I will call the accounting department". No one calls me back. It's now September 16th and I have no furniture or the money. read more

I am happy with my look of my furniture And the price. Unfortunately it took entirely too long to get the items (7 months). The first item came in and decided to wait for delivery until the second piece came in. When the second piece came in ( 1 month later) it was discovered the first piece had been given to a different customer For a warranty replacement. I was issued a credit for the inconvenience. I still had to wait a month for the replacement. i had to make several phone calls and did not get responses back timely and had To follow up with more return calls. I ended Up going to the store just to get answers. I purchased a warranty on my items and now have found out the items were now discontinued. So if my items were to fail and not be repaired a replacement Would likely come from a different design. Colors would probably match, but look would be different. Late last summer (2023) I purchased an outdoor table and chairs. At the time, the umbrellas were out of stock. This Spring, April 5, I called the Ashley store near the Dayton Mall because I wanted them to pull up the table & chair purchase so they could see the color of the furniture in order to match the umbrella. She told me they didn't have them in the store but I could order it online. I asked if she could do that for me and she said yes. It cost $185. The umbrella came and wasn't even remotely the same color as the furnture and the fabric was very flimsy. When I took the umbrella to the same store I bought the furniture to return it, they told me because I bought it online, I had to contact them. When I told them one of the sales associate ordered it for me, they told me that would not have happened. Basically, calling me a liar. I call the "online" Ashley store and they said I would have to pay to ship it back to them. That cost me $73 and no umbrella!! She did offer me a 20% discount on my next purchase. I kid you not. I told her I would never purchase another thing from Ashley furniture; the store or online. Ever. Side note, I went to Menards and purchased a better quality umbrella that looked like it was made to go with my furniture for $78. read more

He helped us try several different mattresses to see what we preferred. He gave us all of our options as far as financing, he wasn't pushy and gave us room to talk and consider what we wanted. This is not the first time.... I'm having issues with a $1,200 leather sofa since its delivery two weeks ago which I reported the same day as delivery (btw, delivery service is terrible, another story). I have had to leave countless messages and voicemails reporting it via their online portal and even went into the store with pictures and left a message for the manager to call me... to date, nothing. This store has such a wide variety of things you need for your home. I went in looking for a dresser and found a entire bedroom set and it has really changed up the feel of my bedroom. Their wasn't any hassling me I came in and said I was looking and the sales per gave me his name I found what I wanted and found him and cashed out. Unbelievable. I have been trying since January (it is now late March) to get a refund or store credit for a clearly defective coffee table. They sent out their own furniture repair man who said it was defective. They attempted to deliver a replacement table that was also defective (delivery men agreed) and a second replacement that was damaged AND had the same defect. The "owner" kept punting my complaints to his customer care team who couldn't care less. The owner now refuses to answer any of my communications. This is totally unacceptable I've waited almost a month for the 6 time to come out to deliver to still not be able to put the bed together i need a reimbursement because to pay all this money and absolutely only thing that was right was a section of the couch everything has been an absolute struggle. I have taking off work, call off work, paid people to be at my house All so i can get my stuff that i purchased delivered and still as of October 11th and I'm still with out a bed. I bought a recliner sofa from Ashley. When I visited the store, employees were nice, kind, and eager to make the sale. I asked many questions in regards to the quality and longevity of the sofa, especially the material. The salesperson vouched for the quality and the brand "Ashley". He told us this material will easily last 10+ years with a leather conditioner applied to it from time to time. He also insisted that with a 5 yr protection plan it will be a greater peace of mind. If any damage to the sofa occurs, Ashley will send experts for repair directly at our home address. We also wanted peace of mind and assurance that this sofa will be worth the money we are giving to Ashley. We found no reason for him to completely lie about everything from the quality to protection plan we were sold additionally. Within 1 year, I started noticing my sofa breaking down starting from the stitching. The design is very poor and the material was not even 10% of the quality salesperson vouched for. The material is so poor that it started cracking and peeling even after taking proper care with the conditioner as the salesperson advised me to. I contacted Ashley regarding the damage and they told me to contact Guardian with whom Ashley partnered with a protection plan at the time of my purchase. I submitted proof of damage to Guardian and after a few weeks of waiting I was told that this damage is not covered and I need to contact Ashely. I explained to the Guardian what the salesperson told us when we were sold that plan, the Guardian said that they are not responsible if Ashley employees lied to us about the plan. After not getting any help from Guardian, I reached out to the store from where the purchase was made. I spoke to the store manager Kendal, she told me that she can't help and I need to contact customer care. She also assured me that she will forward my case and someone will reach out to me in 72 hrs. Well, I have been chasing Guardian and Ashley since months to get any help. It appears that all Ashley and Guardian cared about was to take my money and I was purposely ghosted by both when I asked for the repair on a poor quality sofa sold to us. After months of chasing Ashley, when I was able to connect to customer care. I was told that Ashley is not responsible for the damages and I have to get them repaired on my own expenses. After robbing me of the sofa and protection plan, Ashley employees have the audacity to give me a quote worth more than the cost of the sofa for repairs. Is this what Ashley stands for? Ashley eagerly took money and delivered a cheap quality sofa along with a useless fraud protection plan wrapped nicely in a bunch of lies and fake promises. When the time came for me to get the customer care I was promised, I was ignored purposely. So far I got no help from Ashely. Instead all I got was more lies, and was asked for more money for a very bad product delivered to us. I found a Facebook group "Ashley Furniture Complaints/Issues Advocacy And Resources" that can get me to the executive team and connect me to other customers who were duped by bad quality product, fraud protection plans. After talking to other consumers who purchased protection, and have different issues, were told that the protection plan doesn't cover any of the issues? That is not right, and sounds like fraud! I filing a legal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and my state's Attorney General, for help, as others have done, since they couldn't get any help from Ashley. read more

The buying experience was pretty good but delivery sucks. Twice they called me a day before my delivery to tell me the item was damaged and they would have to reorder. Now I have to wait for the item (hopefully undamaged) to come in, then wait two more weeks for an opening on a truck. Unbelievable. read more

In May of 2020, we purchased a dining room table with 4 chairs. Less than a year later the wood table top cracked and one chair cushion padding has wrinkled. So, I contacted Ashley customer service 800 phone number to file a warranty claim. Ashley works with a outside contracted inspection and repair service who came into our home and filed a warranty claim on our behalf for a replacement of the table top and one of the chair cushions. Within a week I received a e-mail from a Ashley customer service representative. She informed me the table top replacement is currently on order, however the chair cushion is not. The customer service requested that I provide her a serial number from my chair. She informed me that Ashley furniture "could not" order a replacement chair cushion from the "manufacturer" without a serial number. I explained that none of my chairs do not have a serial number label on them. This is because I removed the label which had a serial number on it because the tags were hanging from the bottom of each chair when they were delivered. All of the chairs came with tags on the chair bottom that are machine sewn on. However the "one" tag that contained the "specific serial number" was printed on an "adhesive label" and "was not" sewn on by a machine. The label was dangling from underneath our chairs and could be seen from across the room. They were hanging half way on, and half way off. So, I removed them and they were thrown in the trash. If I had only known the tag which had a serial number on it must be retained and provided as proof for a warranty claim I most certainly would have kept the serial number with my store receipt in a file. In addition to being told by a customer service supervisor about the significance of keeping the serial number it now means that since I do not have a serial number for the chairs the warranty on our chairs has been "voided". I have contacted several people including the store manager in Beavercreek for assistance with this matter. I have my original store receipt, and also the sku numbers for each piece of furniture that I purchased. This however is not enough proof for anyone from the manufacturer to replace my cushion. I'm sharing my story for other consumers who shop at this store, and who may be contemplating purchasing Ashley furniture made products. BUYER BEWARE! This has been an unpleasant situation for me to deal with, and I would not want anyone else to waist hard earned money on a product that has such ridiculous warranty guidelines. I am very disappointed and will no longer buy or recommend Ashley furniture to my friends or family members. read more

We bought a year ago a chenille sofa and love seat. We only had it a month or so and sitting on the sofa you could feel the wood frame. We called ashley furniture, they sent someone to repair, after they left they had overstuffed the cushions which made the sofa even more uncomfortable. We called the store again, they picked up the sofa, and when they brought it back really didn't know if anything had been done. We had taken the insurance coverage for damage. A month or so ago, I noticed the cushions on the sofa were splitting at the seams. We went back to the store to be told Oh your insurance coverage is expired, and we can't do anything. So I will never ever buy again from this store, so now we're stuck with an uncomfortable sofa and love seat, with tears in it. read more

I ran into a manufacturing defect issue with our sofa after 18 months where the Guardian protection didn't cover the issue since it wasn't damage. While it took a couple calls, emails, and photos, the Morris company did address the issue and we have a new couch. The previous couch and new couch are very comfortable and worth the $ spent. I am also a big fan of their delivery notifications and situational awareness systems. (email receipts, text/email delivery notifications, and automated calling for delivery. Signed the paperwork and 2 days later (today) the items come, however the table is short the foot rest, which is basically the support of the table and there is no Picture? PLEASE do yourself a favor and do not but ANYTHING from this company!!! Me and my wife bought a couch a little over a year ago, and the one cushion ripped at the zipper. The couch has been lightly used and the other cushions have went flat. when i called they said because we moved the warranty was voided. We made the mistake of purchasing a bed from Ashley about two months ago. the frame literally collapsed while we were sleeping. We called the store TWO WEEKS ago and was told to send in pictures and we would be contacted within 3 days, on the fourth day we called them and was told the photos were still being reviewed and once a supervisor gave word to them they would call us. it has been two weeks and we still have not heard anything. if something is not done either a new bed or a refund soon, i will be dumping the bed in front of the store and showing everyone who walks in the over priced junk ashley furniture sales. read more

Our sales rep was so patient and helpful. She listened to our wants - this fabric, that style - and helped us find the perfect fit. She gave us space to have marital conversations but was still present and addressed all our questions and concerns. Ordered a bedroom set. Took the day off. Dresser was not delivered and was told it was damaged. I have called the store and customer service numbers and no one obviously cares about this error. This was a little girls birthday present and now we are waiting 2 more weeks with her things all over the bedroom floor. No one tried to make it right. Manager didn't even apologize or try to compensate for this error. Meanwhile I call corporate office and their hold message repeatedly says that Ashley Furniture is thankful for their customers for being one of the largest furniture stores. Dayton OH location. We ordered a couch and ottoman on 11/17/18 to be delivered on 12/18/18. I took a day off of work to be home for the delivery. Two days prior, I received an automated delivery call and when I called back I was told only the ottoman was being delivered. I told them to cancel delivery and reschedule when everything could be delivered together. They set it up for 12/30/18. Two days prior, I called the store to verify I would in fact be receiving the couch and ottoman together. Again I was told it was just the ottoman. I asked for the store manager and he said there's nothing he can do and he rescheduled it again for 1/12/19 but has no guarantee it will all arrive then, either. They moved my old loveseat to the garage and they were so helpful, accommodating and courteous. it was pouring down rain and they made extra attempts to protect my furniture. Went in knowing what I was already interested in from shopping online. Sale lady helped me to the couch and gave me pricing options. There was a great sale going on we're the couch was cheaper in store rather than online. Price match for 100 days and discounted delivery fee made my experience enjoyable. Ended up getting 4 pieces but was able to purchase a whole other piece of furniture for the same amount as I could have ordered 3 online for because of the in store sale. Also got a 5 year warranty for 125$ for all pieces. The only thing that was troublesome was the lack of help in the mattress department & ended up purchasing my mattress from mattress firm for a much better deal than Ashley. I placed an order for a bed frame, box spring and dresser. The order took a long time to be processed... due to Covid. After the suggested time frame from their website and zero communication from them, I decided to call to get a status. The "Customer Care" number I was referred to was 937-874-7020 and they had extremely long hold times so I left a vm. I received an email delivery confirmation the next day... hmm.. strange timing. The day after that, I received another email stating that only the bed frame and box springs would be delivered and then the dresser would be delivered the week after because it was on backorder. First of all, didn't they have plenty of time to make sure my order was complete after all of those weeks. So, today was delivery day. The delivery guy (James) shows up and realizes that they don't have the box springs. Then, when they open the box for the bed frame, it doesn't have the hardware to put it together. I told James that he needed to take the bed frame back, but he refused and left the big box in my daughter's bedroom. Now, she has no bed (and no room for a mattress on the floor since he wouldn't take the huge box back) and we have no time frame or information on when the furniture will be delivered. I have ordered from Ashley's in the past (just recently actually) and I didn't have the best experience then either. I can honestly say that I will never shop there again. read more

My girlfriend and I just purchased a new home and was in need of furniture. We saw a sectional at one Ashley Furniture store and decided that is what we wanted, but we wanted it as soon as possible. We then went to the Ashley store in Dayton because we knew the Fairborn warehouse was right there and we could hopefully get it the same day. After looking at the couch we liked we found a different one that we liked way better and luckily it was in stock, so we purchased it. The gentleman selling us the furniture told us about the protection plan and said it covers accidental damage including wine spills, pets tearing the furniture among other things. We denied the protection plan because we are strapped on money since we are purchasing a home. Since we knew we would need help getting the furniture my parents came along with us. While we were purchasing our couch, my parents found a dinette set and a couch and love seat that they really liked. They also decided to make a purchase and bought the dinette set with 6 chairs, the couch and chair. They did decide to get the protection plan and the same guy that helped us helped them. We picked up our furniture and went home, got it all set up. Then I went to go sit on the chair and I heard a loud popping noise. It sounds like the spring is catching something inside the chair. I called Morris customer service to see if they believe it is a manufacture defect, they said no that we picked up the couch ourselves that it is on us to get it fixed and that they would send out a technician but it would cost us another $100! As I mentioned we don't have much spending money so this isn't an option for us. I called my parents to see if they liked their couch and they also had an issue with their chair having loose fabric on the side, almost like the fabric wasn't tightened down enough. He had called customer service as well and they told him that once again it is on us because we chose to pick the furniture up and that it would cost $100. He then asked about the protection plan and they said that you cannot use that until after a year, which was not mentioned during the purchase process. Needless to say my parents and my girlfriend and I are both extremely upset. We both have a couch that we are unsatisfied with and most likely has a manufacturer warranty that will never be taken care of because of Ashley and Morris home furnitures customer service has been greatly disappointing. We will never purchase another couch from any company associated with Morris and will never step foot in an Ashley store. read more
