We purchased sectional from ashley dba city furniture on June 2025 since day one problems. my wife and I are extremely dissappointed. sofa has saggy cushions , defective ottoman , was changed and now different color fabric and way thinner than original problems over and over again. customer service is horrible does not return calls in a timely manner. supervisors are never available. just an awfull experienc. Stopped by to look at a couch and was able to find one we liked. Spoke to a representative and she said she actually had the same one and loved it. She was nice in person and helped us with sizing etc. We told her we would give it some thought and get back to her. Came home and looked up the same couch and saw it was available for $1,800 less online through a different store. I called and said I would be interested if they could price match, she told me that the online version was fake? interesting because it was a reputable company. Here I found choices in the $1,000-2,000 range, depending on the style. I did find the quality and the look of the furniture a bit less enticing as some of the other furniture stores in the area. I recently went here to buy a sofa bed. The store is very eye-catching inside with lovely looking furniture. I found a sofa bed for a very fair price, and I got it delivered to my house. The associate that helped me was Peta, and she was very professional and helpful. All in all, it looks like they have nice merchandise with reasonable prices. The service is excellent. The only thing I didn't like, was that even though they guarantee their furniture for a year, if there is a problem, you have to pay for someone to come out to look at it to determine if the product was defective or not. Horrible customer service experience. I don't window shop so it's annoying to be treated like I'm in the store just to waste my time. I was assisted horribly by Peta who made it obvious that she thought we were wasting her time. I asked for another associate because she stopped waiting on us to answer a call. I was told she would be a few minutes which was false. She didn't complete my paperwork correctly so that was another problem. The premium delivery was late and the delivery drivers were rude and disrespectful. My intention was to buy everything I needed at one store. Thank you for your help in deciding to take my business elsewhere. With customer service like this I understand why the store had more employees there than customers. Never again will I spend a penny at this store, I could have received better customer service shopping online than in person shopping. I gave 1 star because zero stars are not an option. He walked in here on the weekend and the staff was very helpful by trying to understand what we were looking for and making all kinds of suggestions. Purchased bedroom set on 5/1/2020...On 5/21/2020 the bed broke...the wood rails split. Had bed only 3 weeks. They sent someone out to add screws & repair the bed...lol. Then on 8/30, bed fell completely apart, and head board ripped from the posts. We sent pictures and explained that this bed is faulty and Instead of changing the bed they sent a couple of guys to change the rails..again lol...the delivery guys take a look @ the bed and said...you need a whole new bed, it's defective. City furniture called us (their parent company I guess) and said that they'd send someone out on Sunday 9/27 Today's Tuesday 9/22. So they dismantled what was left of my bed, and propped the ripped headboard on the wall because they wanted me to hold it until Sunday when the other delivery guys came. Lmfao. I told them to put it in the car port until they can send someone to pick it up. Why wouldn't they take the broken furniture??? So no, I have no bed. Will be sleeping w my new mattress on the floor and hope that the replacement gets here on Sunday. Oh, and I paid EXTRA FOR THE WARRANTY. LMFAO. They won't replace it until after you've had the same incident 3 times. Who even came up w this?!?!! What kind of warranty is this? On September 05, 2020, the customer confirmed the sale associated with Mr. Stephen Donathan with a guarantee and confirmed delivery of the Queen Size Bed on September 27, 2020. The customer made multiple phone calls to Ashley furniture to inquire about the delivery status on September 27, 2020, but no one picked up the calls or provided any support or assistance or even a response. On September 27, 2020, the customer was informed that there would not be any delivery with a rude, vulgar language from Ashley Homestore stating the customer can go to hell. To date, the customer has not received the furniture ordered and will leave with no other option than pursue a legal remedy and solution as applicable by law. There is a breach of contract, violation of the law, and poor customer service performed by Ashley HomeStore. Scheduled a delivery for today in the morning, between 9 AM - 12 PM. Here I sit at 4:30 PM still waiting. When I called the customer service line, they were extremely rude. I explained my husband had to go to work and that I am pregnant and can not bring the furniture upstairs. Their solution was to pay $100 for premium delivery (just to have it brought up stairs and left outside my apartment door) or to reschedule the delivery on a day my husband is off. If I could give zero stars I would. I went into the store to accompany a relative that was shopping. I found pillows that felt incredible. I was told 150.$ I bought 2. They were to be shipped. I looked at the receipt and saw I was being charged 179$ a pillow. More than I was quoted. However I agreed to buy them because they felt so soft. Later at home I looked at receipt again as I felt the price still seemed off. I was also charged 21.48$ for in home service for a yr!! I was not asked if I wanted this nor does anyone actually need in home service for a pillow!! Now I'm angry. Pillows are delivered and guess what? One pillow was the correct one the other was something totally different! I checked online to find that they are cheaper on line. I brought them back to the store for a refund as the entire purchase was a huge screw up from the get go! Not a good sales person!!!!!!! Trying to sneak in extra charges. Then because I paid with debit I could not get a refund! Must wait 5-7 days for a check!! F that. Total BS. I do not recommend this store or it's affiliates! City Furniture! Also horrible. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!! The below captures my experience with Ashley store, staff and purchased product dining set. Judge for yourself if you feel you would like to roll your dice here. Pay particular attention to my comment on being told they could not find a record of my purchase. I have seena similar comment on yelp. Judge again for yourself what this could mean and who you believe is lying. 10/23/2020 Seat of one chair was damaged and was extremely dirty. A report was made to customer service and a ticket opened. 10/27/2020 Cap that covered a sharp pin fell off, stuck my daughter and ripped her pants. Report was made through email on this issue. 10/28/2020 Attempt by Ashley to deliver a single chair was refused as there was an open request to deliver three chairs and not one; two(2) replacements and one(1) new item. 11/13/2020 Ashley delivered three(3) replacement chairs as an attempt to resolve issues; two(2) replaced the ones from previous complaints and one(1) was the original item that was to be delivered at a later date. All three(3) chairs delivered were tampered with; having various numbers of tacks stuck into the foot of the chairs. These tacks were discovered after realizing that the chairs had an unnatural slide on the floor. When removed, the chairs were found to be defective as they were not stable and rocked when placed on a flat surface. This rocking motion then confirmed why Ashley had initially placed them there in the first place. I believe the action to be deceitful. From one chair, a screw hangs from the foot-supports. An attempt to tighten has revealed it cannot be tightened, hence, the chair is damaged. See attached. From another, the front foot-support shakes; an attempt to tighten this also supports. A strong camphor odor still emits from the chairs after 9 days; this was not something i experienced with the previous chairs nor the table. Note: A level was used to confirm an even surface on which the chairs were placed. The action on the part of Ashley to place them in the foot of the chair was already suspicious, however, I did this as a personal confirmation as it was my personal opinion that this was not a required action on my part. An attempt was made to report tampered and defective chairs to customer care, however, the agent was unable to locate any record of my purchase using either of the below. My invoice# 584178 (same one used to report previous issues) My phone number (the one printed on the invoice) 11/30/2020: Over the thanksgiving holidays (11/2020) it was discovered there was another deformaty in one of the chairs supplied by Ashley furniture. The left and right foot-rests of one of the chairs are uneven making the chair very uncomfortable to rest your feet on. Above is a snippet from my attempt to communicate with Ashley. read more

I finally got a customer service representative that would help me. In the end, Ashley furniture / City Furniture did accept my reselection. They even waived the restock fee for me and picked up the couches. I'm sad that it seems like only the squeaky wheel gets the grease, but that seems to be the case with many businesses. Although I am satisfied with the outcome, I'm upping the review to 4 stars. I think Ashley Furniture really did come though for my unique situation in the end; however, it was an incredibly frustrating process. I think their online return policy should match their in store policy. Especially since seeing something in the showroom is nothing like having something in your house--especially if you don't let your little kids run all over the place to see if they want to get stuck in any of the relincers! I really like the quality of the furniture and wish I could have held onto it but it became a hazard in the home. Thankfully they recognized that and came through for me in the end. read more

I purchased a dresser and never thought to pull out the drawers to check THE INSIDE when delivered. Turns out they sold me a dresser that was broken from the inside and they GLUED it back together. Each bar on the left side was glued back in! i have been getting the run around from customer service for over a week and half! Somewhat mixed feelings about my recent purchase at Ashley. I had come in on a Thursday to look at a bed online. They didn't have it in store, it seemed to be an online only sort of thing, but I spoke to Antonio regarding my options and went home to make a decision. After some careful thought, reading of online reviews etc, I decided to come back in to purchase my pieces. I was told I'd get a better deal in store as they were offering 28% off that weekend, or 5 years interest free. Of course the 28% off was the better deal so I opted for that, only to find out that it somehow wouldn't apply to something that was online only. Disappointed, but still committed, I went with the interest free option to at least feel like I gained something.... only to then find out it was only 12 months interest free...hmmm. read more

After dealing with countless issues from an order placed at a different Ashley (Sunrise), walking into the Fort Lauderdale store, and working with Peta, was a breath of fresh air. Even though I didn't place my original order with her she jumped in to help me confirm a new delivery date and went out of her way to make sure I was satisfied especially after my bad experience that morning. I would strongly recommend asking for her if you visit the US1 location in FTL. On the other hand, the couch I ordered in August, that was supposed to be delivery this morning, was cancelled randomly as of this AM - after I received a delivery time window and confirmation for today. No one from customer care notified me that my delivery date was cancelled and now pushed 2 months back to Nov 10th, and I would not be getting my couch today. I ended up calling in and speaking with 4 customer care agents + someone from the President's office and the only thing they offered me was a full refund, to purchase a new couch (no added discount or anything for all of the trouble), or to wait until Nov 10th to get my item. They didn't care that I'm now left with an empty living room, sitting on the floor for 2 months. I bought a set of furniture from Ashley in August and spent $3100. This included a Mattress Bonita Spring Firm 15" and I paid $949. I asked fo a discount at the time and was told that this was the best price. So I was really surprised to see that the exact same mattress is available online from the Ashley website for $643. That's more than $300 less and I feel cheated. Apparently Ashley is a franchise and the stores set their own prices. Moral of the story, don't buy from the store, go online. read more

ADDENDUM TO MY REVIEW. Ashley Corporate contacted us and stepped forward. While we still did not get our furniture until 2/25, and there were issues (some of the bedroom furniture was damaged - not the shippers fault- just poor quality furniture) and a missing item (the salesman at the Ft Lauderdale store where we purchased the furniture failed to order two foundations for our king bed and we had to run out and buy one so we would finally have a bed after being forced to sleep on an air mattress - that we had to purchase - for 2 weeks), they stepped up and have promised to reimburse us for the foundation we had to buy plus giving us a $300 credit towards the shipping cost. Thank you Ashley Corporate for standing up and doing the right thing. Rather than trying to deal with their repair department my husband just went ahead and repaired the damaged pieces himself so as not to have to deal with it anymore. Delivery was horrible! They called to meet us in the lobby of the apartment complex. We come down and they dumped the furniture at the office without waiting for us to tell them where to put it. The moving elevator was completely accessible from the parking garage ( no gate ). We told them the moving elevator is at the end of the parking garage ( 2nd picture, 100 ft away) , please drive your truck up to the elevator and drop it ( full access drop off ). They said okay let me tell my crew. We waited 5 minutes then walked out front of the building. They drove off, we called 3 times and they ignored our calls ( straight to voicemail ). We were forced to move the furniture ourselves. Afterwards we called support to complain to which we were told they did exactly what they were supposed to do and that we were not to expect any different service. I asked if they were going to do something about this horrible service to which the supervisor said "i took some notes, and that we do not offer any compensation for bad service".
