When I later tried to contact the store, an associate placed me on hold for so long that my call was automatically routed to an overseas call center. The representative there informed me that my furniture would actually be arriving three days after my guaranteed delivery date. To make matters worse, once you make a purchase, Ashley's automated phone system links your phone number to your order, effectively blocking you from calling the local store directly to resolve any issues. WARRANTY NIGHTMARE!! It took 2 months, many phone calls, emails, and our Credit Card company to get Ashley to replace a broken sofa. They ended up delivering 3 sofas to us before we got one that we could keep. (And they had to repair fabric on the 3rd one.) I thought it was odd that the driver didn't get a signature for delivery. Then I noticed a big bulge in the back of the sofa and just managed to catch the driver as he rushed to his truck. I had him call it in to report it as damaged goods. (I think it was dropped from the truck like another reviewer noted). Long story short: I got the runaround for 2 months. Filing a dispute with the credit card company is what saved us. We visited Ashley Furniture earlier this week and found a sectional that my husband and I loved. We were told that a July 4th sale was starting in a couple of days, so we returned a few days later ready to make the purchase. Unfortunately, our experience during the return visit was disappointing. When we asked about the sale we had previously been told about, we received conflicting information and were instead handed a flyer for a different promotion. A manager (I am unsure of his name but he is a portly bald man) provided inconsistent information compared to what was written on the flyer. Rather than taking the time to understand our concerns or clarify the discrepancy, the manager was dismissive and confrontational. What was most concerning was the way the manager interacted with his own staff. A sales associate attempted to help mediate the conversation and offer a larger discount, but the manager abruptly told the employee to "stop talking" in front of us. We found this behavior unnecessarily aggressive, unprofessional, ego-driven, and uncomfortable to witness. The sales associate was simply trying to assist and de-escalate the situation that the manager escalated. We understand that misunderstandings can happen, and we weren't expecting anything unreasonable. We simply wanted a clear explanation and respectful customer service. Instead, we left feeling dismissed and disappointed. I purchased a sofa from Ashley Furniture in March 2025 for over $4,000, expecting basic quality and honesty. Instead, I got a defective product and a company that refuses to stand behind what it sells. In less than a year, with a total usage of maybe 30 hours, the cushions have severely sunk. My wife and I are almost never at home, so this couch has seen virtually no use. There is absolutely no justification for this kind of failure. To make matters worse, I was sold an "extended warranty" with clear assurances that it would cover everything, including cushion issues. That turned out to be completely false. After two so-called "expert" inspections and more than six phone calls totaling hours of my time, they are now denying coverage and backtracking on what was promised. This is not just poor quality, it is blatant misrepresentation. I have two witnesses who were present when I was told the warranty would cover cushion failure, especially this early on. Now they are pretending otherwise. I will be taking this matter to small claims court. Avoid this company at all costs. Was getting ready to purchase then thought, hmm Ashley's is right next door maybe I should check them out. Went to Ashley's, young kid offered assistance. Showed me a couch or two then picked up a call without excusing himself. I found a couch I loved - by myself - didn't see a price. Stood around awkwardly waiting for him to get off the phone so I could get the price. Was with my mother, she found the price, it was nearly 3x as much as Bob's and nothing really different aside from cup holders. Not worth $1500+ shipping, tax, assembly. Honestly, would have been a different story if it wasn't for the service. Money ain't no thang. Walked out of the store as the kid was still on his phone. I'm outside the store at this point, and the kid follows my mother and I outside, cuts us off to say, "My bad, I had to take a call." I said it's cool, I'll just be going back to Bob's. he reiterates he had to take a call again and I repeat myself. He then proceeds to not so subtly insult me with, "Oh yeah, you need like a $300 dollar couch, right?" Huh? Trying to project your failure of making a sale onto me is completely unprofessional, and exactly why you failed to make a sale in the first place. First, the sales associate, Alex gave us excellent service. He was attentive without being pushy and was good at answering all our questions. We purchased bedroom and living room furniture totaling about $5000, bottom line, including tax, delivery and assembly fees. It was delivered right on schedule two days later. There were a couple of snags. Another sales rep called us the evening of the sale, insisting we come in the store because they needed another signature for the delivery. Fortunately, we weren't too far away, but still, it was an inconvenience to go back at 8:30 PM. The second snag was that the boxspring was too deep. The bed in the showroom was a nice height, but it was in a different frame. The frame that was delivered was assembled with the slats on top of the frame so that the boxspring didn't sink into the bedframe, making the bed so high it practically needed a stepstool to get up on it. We called the store and talked to the same sales rep who had called us in for the evening signature, and he said he could exchange it for a bunkie board foundation, which is only a few inches deep. We said we would come into the store to get the exchange confirmed in writing. He started arguing with me about not needing to have it in writing. Seriously dude, after you called to insist we come into the store for an extra signature at 8:30 PM? Anyway, we went into the store and found Alex. Alex was very nice and gave us the written confirmation we asked for. We went to Ashley furniture because we didn't have a lot of time and wanted to get everything in one visit and have it delivered fast and we did get that. She stayed focused as to what I wanted to look for and she found us the perfect sofa and dual recliner in less than 15 minutes! It was the color of leather we were looking for too!!! This was one of the worst retail experiences I've had. My wife and I went into the Ashley Furniture store at Long Beach Towne Center ready to make a purchase. We like Ashley's style and were actively looking for a server piece and a low frame bed with a headboard. We were open to guidance and expected help. Instead, we were met by a sales associate named Faye, I believe that was the name, who was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. At one point, my wife was told, "If you don't know what you want, you should go on Google and do your research before coming in." When we asked about pricing, the response was essentially, "Why do you want to know if it's not what you want?" That is not just poor service, that is disrespectful. We came in ready to buy but also looking for help figuring things out. Instead of being guided, we were made to feel like we shouldn't even be there. Whether it was because we came in later in the evening or didn't have the exact terminology down, the attitude was completely off-putting. My wife already spoke with a manager and made it clear we were not trying to get anyone in trouble, just that this kind of behavior is going to drive customers away. If anything, we wanted them to be aware because this is not how you treat people who are ready to spend money. We walked in ready to buy and walked out because of one person's attitude. We went next door to Bob's and within 20 minutes found what we wanted, placed an order, and had a great experience. That is the difference. When issues came up and we tried to file claims under the warranties we paid for, the claims were denied and the process offered no help. On the morning of delivery, I was told the dresser was out of stock -- with no prior notice -- and they couldn't give me a new delivery date. I'm pregnant and only available on weekends, so now I'm delayed another week just days before my due date. Customer service opened a case but offered no real resolution, so I went to the store in person. The manager was dismissive and unhelpful. I asked to have the delivery fee waived for the inconvenience. After pushing for some kind of compensation, I was eventually given a $100 credit and a new weekend delivery date -- but it's still a major inconvenience. I had to ask multiple times just to get a confirmation email. While I was there, another customer was dealing with a similar issue. She wasn't offered anything and was told her delivery wouldn't come until June. Clearly, this company is having serious fulfillment and customer service problems. So my review is on the extended warranty Dept. My experience in the store was great . Great customer service and we love our sofa bed and recliners. When they delivered my furniture , I noticed one of the of the recliners was crooked. Looked at the cameras and saw they dropped it off the truck. Called on the warranty and they wanted to come out and fix it. I told them this was a brand new purchase and I wanted a new replacement, not fixed. After more back and forth and sending them the video, they replaced it a few days later . Months later , the other recliner was not closing right or staying up. Text warranty Dept again, explained what was wrong and they shipped out a box of parts and said if you can't fix it on your own, let us know and we'll send someone out. Like WTF, I'm not a furniture repairman. They must have issues with these recliners to know what parts to send out. We replied that we wanted someone sent out and they still haven't sent anyone. It has been 3 months of trying to get ahold of someone. They only communicate by text, then email, no real person. They replied in an email and said our claim was closed, but how was it closed when I have a broken recliner and a box of parts. Came in on Thanksgiving during their sale and purchased a King size Tempur-Luxe Adapt, Pillows and w/ Bed frame, little over $7K purchase. The delivery was pushed to 12/13. The Delivery technician on 1st attempt delivered the products, but couldnt assemble the bed due the packing was missing the Rails to the Bed and also delivered the WRONG size pillows, giving us QUEEN size pillows instead of KING size pillows. Mind you we got rid of our old bed a day prior, so my family and i had to sleep on the floor for a few days until Ahsley's provided a doner bed frame in the mean time until the rails come in. I went to the Long Beach Location and they told me that Ill have to take it up with Customer Service. Fast forward until 12/21/2025, 2nd Attempt The Delivery Technician came out to deliver the rails to the bed, but come to find out the Hardware to the bed was not packed, nor was the King Size pillows. Now we have to wait another few weeks for a technician to make another attempt. Ahsley's Customer Service shows no remorse or provide a Makegood to make things RIGHT. Do not shop here unless you are absolutely sure you are not going to return anything. My 82 year old mother spent $6,600 on a Tempurpedic mattress, base, bunkie board and mattress protector. The salesman ALI ABDULKARIM told us the mattress and base would not be too high on her bedframe (also purchased at Ashley). But it was. So she had to spend $300 removing the wooden slats and drawers from her bedframe that she loves to lower the bed for her, plus she had to cancel the bunkie board. The bunkie board was never delivered, and it took ONE MONTH to get a refund on the bunkie board and we are STILL WAITING on the $16 recycle fee that was charged for the bunkie board, over THREE MONTHS LATER. Plus Ali sold her a mattress protector that fits loose and slides off of her $4,000 mattress she just bought from him, and they refuse to exchange it for one that fits this particular mattress. I went to the physical location looking for a desk chair because I needed one fast. Of course they didn't have it in stock and told me I'd have to have it delivered. Against my better judgement I agreed simply because the delivery date they gave me should have been quicker than Amazon delivery for a similar chair. The date came and went without receiving the item so I called their help line who directed me to call the store directly. The store informed me that the chair was never shipped in the first place and I'll just have to wait until they finally get around to shipping it before I'm able to get a refund. So if they sit on it for a month I can't do anything about it while they keep my money.
