I am an extremely unhappy Ashley Furniture customer. I spent a significant amount of money furnishing an entire vacation home, including three bedrooms, two living rooms, a dining room, and a kitchen. Unfortunately, the quality of the furniture has been incredibly disappointing. After only three years--and with the furniture being used only in a vacation home--both of my couches sink all the way down when you sit on them. I was even told by someone at the store that they no longer make these couches the same way because the older ones were made without springs, and the newer versions now have springs. That alone tells me they knew there was a problem with the design. When I contacted the store manager, it took forever to get a response. They eventually sent out a technician, who admitted the couches could be repaired but also said the same problem would happen again because of the way they were manufactured. I contacted the manager again, waited another long time for a response, only to be told there was nothing they could do. What disappointed me the most was the complete lack of concern for a loyal customer who spent thousands of dollars furnishing an entire house. They strongly encouraged me to purchase the extended warranty, yet when I needed help, it provided no meaningful solution. Ashley Furniture has lost my trust. Poor product quality, slow customer service, and no willingness to stand behind their products have left me feeling completely let down. Went here on Saturday August 23rd 2025 with my parents to look at more furniture for our home. This visit, we were looking for dinettes, and curio cabinets, as well as chairs. At the door, connie greeted us and told us about the labor day sale going on. Although we don't have to worry about matresses right now, as we have them. We took the time to look around, and found the exact table at Ashley, and priced matched the price to the online price. Highly recommend researching online if you can for the best price, especially that Ashley can price match it if it is better priced online. Later on it did get busy, and Connie was helping other customers, so she sent Thomasina to help us, and she was very pleasant, and explained all the options available. We were able to price match the price. Thomasina also explained all the options which were delivery, threshold delivery- which involves assembly, or pickup that is $30.00 and they assemble it for you. We picked the pickup option with assembly that way it is together. Duly note that also Thomasina said that dining rooms can be really hard to put together, so we are glad to have that option of assembly available. We purchased the dinette with a credit card, and was also able to use a coupon from the Ashley site. After a successful purchase, we left the store happy, and would definitely continue using Ashley for our furniture needs! read more

My experience with Ashley Furniture has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the very beginning, the wrong mattress was ordered. I specifically asked for the hybrid version, yet somehow a single word difference resulted in me receiving an entirely different mattress. I called the same day it was delivered to report the mistake, expecting it to be corrected. Instead, I was told I had to keep the wrong mattress for 30 days, then I was charged a $590 restocking fee for an error that was not mine. To make it even worse, I was required to drive all the way to Myrtle Beach just to pick up a plastic mattress bag so they could haul away the mattress they delivered incorrectly in the first place. If their sales representatives had simply listened to what I asked for, none of this would have happened. That wasn't the end of it. My ottoman arrived with a rip in the side. When they replaced it, they sent me another one with the exact same rip. The delivery drivers also showed up at 7:30 AM, two hours before the scheduled delivery window, with zero notice. No one took responsibility. No one offered real help. I was bounced around, blamed, and charged for their mistakes. This is some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced, and I will never do business with Ashley Furniture again. well, I can understand why they have 2 stars. I bought two couches from them and made the mistake of "modifying" one as I thought it would be too long with the console piece. High and sight, the sales rep should have encouraged me to wait and see. I certainly shouldn't have done it, and now stuck with this love seat that's too short for the area. And here we go I bought furniture for my mom who is having to move into memory care and assisted living and all of a sudden not even 3 hours as I left the store and paid for the furniture there's already a problem I told them I wouldn't need the furniture till May 26th 2025 bought a floor model chair for her to sit in to watch her shows and now all of a sudden they can't keep it till the 26th which I told them this was the absolute latest I can move in was told no problem don't worry about it and now all of a sudden I have no way to pick up this chair in my car I paid $275 for delivery fees and wasn't told that I could not they could not keep the floor model until that time . For over 3 months we have been trying to get a resolution to a mattress purchased for my daughter. Mattress in store does not compare to the one we received and is way too hard. We have been calling since the day mattress was delivered. No exchange or return. They do not tell you this at time of purchase. My wife and I are shopped at Ashley Furniture for at least the last 15 years. We have purchased bedroom set dining room set and to living room sets from them over those years. I find their pricing to be very reasonable and their financing makes it easy purchase bigger sets and have an extended. Of time to pay it with no interest. We've never had a problem with their Furniture breaking or having any other issues. The store itself is set up nicely and the workers are not pushy or intrusive. It may not be the same quality as Ethan Allen cool furniture stores like that before an everyday blue collar worker it's an excellent quality and good prices. STAY FAR AWAY!!! We ordered about 30k in furniture over the last few years. The last purchase we made was supposed to be delivered in 4 weeks. 8 months later we decided to cancel as we still haven't received it and never received a call telling us it was delayed. We called and spoke to Rachel the manager and Christine the receptionist and was told totally different stories each time. We canceled the order and after 8 days still never received the refund. After calling for several days and getting the runaround each time we were told they lost the original receipt and cant process our return until they find it. Not sure why thats on us. She made the whole process so easy and I was happy to purchase with her! Now, reading these reviews, I am a little nervous seeing what a hard time people are having with delivery dates. We were building a new home and purchased $9,000.00+ worth of furnitures April, 2021 giving ample time for furnitures to be available since the salesperson Cassey said it will take about 3-4 months. September/October supposed to have some partial deliveries but we moved the date. January 27, 2022 Ashley made partial delivery - 3 queen beds with headboards and sofa. The love seat, dining and recliner not ready yet. The remaining orders have tentative dates when they will be ready except the love seat. Went to the store and expressed our concern about the loveseat. What if the loveseat is discontinued? The manager told us to contact customer care. I called costumer care and told me that the salesperson -Cassey will contact us in 48 hrs. This time I was starting to lose my patience. I informed her that Cassey doesn't work there anymore and that I don't appreciate being bounced around like a basketball. Plus I told her that the sofa that was just delivered was falling apart. The metal frame at the back of the sofa was sticking out and 2 nails were out . I found this out because I cut my finger when cleaning the back of the sofa. And on the other side, nails are starting to come out. So much for quality. Customer care asked that I send some pics and I did. 48 hours lapsed and no calls or emails so I called the store and spoke to Rachelle. She told me that the loveseat is discontinued. I informed her that we don't want the sofa then. My husband and I went to the store to settle things out. Thanks to Rachelle. It was really a nightmare dealing with Ashley. Buyers beware. If you want quality furnitures right away or in a short period of time, then look somewhere else. Never again will I deal or purchase anything at this store. Lesson learned. read more

The first time when we were in California it took over 6 months to get everything and recently from the Myrtle Beach store we had to cancel our order after 5 months because they would keep pushing the delivery back. Great in-store experience with Thomasina, awful experience afterwards. I was told "3 weeks for delivery, but it never takes that long" back on 8/19. I still don't have a couch, or a delivery date. I received a text message saying my couch would be loaded on 9.17. I called today, 9/17, to see when the couch would be delivered, and I was told "Maybe Wednesday, maybe Thursday, maybe Friday, when would you like it delivered?" Don't expect any communication or customer service if you call the store with questions. I was hung up on by whoever schedules deliveries. In September , 2015 I purchased over 2k worth of new merchandise and in my sales order was touch up paint for dining room buffet table, clearly mark and spelled out that I purchased from Ashley prior in 2013. I never got the paint with my delivery and when I called, I was told that the warehouse manger said these special orders can take up to 3 months.. This happened on 3 occasions in 2015. Then, in October 2015 I spoke with a Denise and she said she would get back to me. She did and left me a v/m , which I still have stating that the store manager was getting it for me that week. That was 7 months ago. I called again 3-4 times , spoke with her and also left messages for her to advise me of the status. If I ever ran my bank like this ( which I retired the president of ) it would have gone out of business in no time due to the very poor service, customer service and name recognition. They sent a repair man out in April to fix it but he had the wrong part. My sectional that I paid for in February was finally usable at the end of July. I really wish I would have read the reviews before I bought a couch for our beach house here. I was reassured that if I decided to cancel part of my sectional due to the fact it wouldn't fit after getting home to measure, I have been calling and getting the run-around on where my refund is. Not once, did anyone from the company apologize for the poor communication or mishandling of the transaction. I was so frustrated because Chris, my sales manager, reassured me this would all be able to be handled over the phone. Not true. The store manager Nick told us we would have no problems getting the furniture after January. We told him we did not need it until Feb. He said great no problem. Here we are March 4 2022. No furniture no refund....had to pay up front in Oc tober to get the great prices. After arguing for 2 weeks with the store maneger Chris Hubble he finally admitted they have no idea when we will get the furniture. We asked for a refund. We signed the refund slip. That was 6 days ago. The credit has not been given. Citi Bank who has the credit card says Ashley needs to release the credit and it's sitting in pending. Two stars is being generous, only because some of the items we ordered were delivered about when they said it would. But some of the items were eventually cancelled since it was one delivery delay after another. We must have been given 5 delivery dates for some of the items ordered, but there was always a last minute delay in the furniture arriving at their warehouse. Even when you decide to Cancel those items, and think that getting your money back shouldn't take long (we had paid in full at time of purchase based on the sales pitch and when it would be delivered) they drag their feet, taking over a week for the lone person in the finance dept. to review the request and approve it. We had to call them to determine the status of the refund and then finally, during a call we made to the store, we were told, "oh, your approval "just" came in, you can come to the store and get it." Even dealing the "store manager" here claimed that his hands were tied and basically repeated his sales pitch about the quality you get when you shop at Ashley. Which would be great, if they would make good on their delivery commitment. So if you are extremely patient, don't mind paying for your purchase and wait for months for the delivery to occur, sure, you can shop here. However, if you would like your furniture delivered within a week, go to one of the other furniture stores here in MB and make your selections . read more

Other Myrtle Beach furniture stores give next day delivery.Its easy to blame the Covid crap for all that goes wrong. With the size of your firm you should have your suppliers kissing your butt to do business. The store had the item I wanted on display which they could have offered at small discount and completed the sale. The salesman made sure I purchased a mattress topper for $150 before I left the store and i was able to take it home, however with the lacking of a bed to put it on was an insult. Do your store a favor and either get the customer the furniture they pay for or issue a refund for the lack of good honest business practice. You customer service people have the same scripted line of BS every time you call the store. I have waited longer than the time frame promised by the salesman and now its become annoying to hear the same excuse from your store. Then they finally got it cleaned. But the spots came back more pics were sent and finally after many months they agreed to replace the couch. Was told as soon as order was delivered a $200 refund would be applied to my charge card which never happened. When you call to inquire they claim to be unaware of this and they have a need to research it with a call back which never happens. I never seen a store with so many one star reviews and the two good one must have come from a store employee. Don't forget to get the BBB involved. He gave me 10% off but when I asked him deduct the delivery fee because my husband would pick it up, he immediately got loud and in front of other customers started rudely insulting me by questioning what school I went to because I clearly don't understand math and what IM doing in life anyway .. he said that he doesn't need my business that bad , he has plenty of customers in the store. My wife and I went to store on just a "preliminary" visit to look at living room furniture for later. After working with our sales person, Mathea; we ended up purchasing complete living room collection that same visit. We were told 2-3 weeks to receive from factory. Furniture was received at the store only 1 week later, delivery scheduled the following Thursday.
