You HAVE to visit here when you're in the area! Beautiful and unique gifts a plenty, gorgeous jewelry, souvenirs, local artwork, fresh fudge, beach- themed decor, etc! I treated myself to a piece of "merchildren" artwork that I just couldn't resist. It reminds me of my children - older girl, younger boy. We were eyeing up this specialty popcorn. One employee raved about it. Now I wish I scored the chocolate peanut butter drizzle one for myself. Cashier was very friendly as well as a few staff we encountered throughout the store. It is very big and has a nice selection, we always stop in here when in Myrtle Beach. One comment though, I asked for a sample of fudge and the lady gave it to me on her bare hand. Sure glad I wasn't the health department. read more

This is an awesome place for both locals and tourists to experience. There's a warm and welcoming atmosphere joined by a wide variety of souvenirs and sundry items. We stop in about once a month to see the new items and buy some of their excellent fudge. There are many varieties and you are welcome to sample any you are interested in. The store is very large and carries many things of local origin. There are also areas in the store with themed merchandise for dog lovers, Christmas and local sports teams. With COVID-19 cases reaching the highest levels since January 2021 in South Carolina (with 3,000 new cases in the County within the last 2 weeks), we walked into Lazy Gator wearing our masks (alongside our masked child too young to be vaccinated). We noticed that every time a new customer walked into the store on this very hot day, a female employee behind the jewelry counter would offer a complimentary bottle of water. We were curious why we hadn't been offered any water until we realized that she was only offering the water to those not wear a mask. We watched it happen to 2 different masked families vs. 3 unmasked. read more

Older people shop here and it doesn't leave a good impression with the 'f' and 'n' words blasting inside and out. We have been going to this gift shop a couple times a year for many years. Used to be the best place to find special birthday cards I never saw anywhere else. Still OK, but it appears the big selection by several different companies is gone. You need to know your prices. We were looking at a fancy beach bag with a lot of glitter they wanted $49. for, so we passed--and found the exact same bag for $19. later the same day in Myrtle Beach. The front porch gets a little more bounce in it every year. I predict it will fall in at some point in the future. Probably would not recommend you sit in one of the rocking chairs if you see a big crowd coming or going. Stay safe.. read more

Cute gift shop! I was greeted at the door and offered a free water bottle! I asked one of the young men working to look for a t-shirt in a different size for me in the back room. He came out and couldn't find one but actually got out a ladder to look on the tall displays to check for me! The store features a lot of brand name clothing (Salt Life!) but also local Murrells Inlet gifts including the popular T-shirt "a small drinking town with a big fishing problem." Another plus is they have huge rocking chairs that circle their porch - perfect spot for someone to sit and wait while you shop your heart out! read more

Us ladies cannot do a trip with our husbands to Myrtle Beach without stopping by this amazing store. We bought t.shirts etc.. and we all bought what we call the penny candy where you bag, its weighed by the pound , we were very disappointed because the candies probably are leftovers from 2020 that should have been thrown out and they were stale so needless to say they ended up in the trash. Terrie experience. Bought $60 earrings which broke second time I wore them. Talked to staff and manager over phone and they only offered contact with the jewelry maker and a contact info was bogus. Went back in store and manager wouldn't help at all. I'm out $60, no earrings and no recourse. Buyer beware! read more

The Lazy Gator is a beautiful place and typically friendly staff. The prices are average or a little above for the area. However they do have a locals discount and that is great! I used to love going to the Lazy Gator, however it now seems their buyer focus more on the tourist than the locals. At times when I go in their merchandise seems more like an upscale Wings, which are a dime a dozen on the beach. I really wish they would go back to having more specialty items & gift shop items versus the Wings variety junk. The ghost tour offered in the summer is fun and educational to local history and tales of the past, a nice added touch! read more
