We opted to shop here for our dining room table, as they were the only store who offered what we were looking for. We were looking for a particular sofa, love seat, and dining room table. The store is laid out in a way where furniture styles and types are mixed throughout. Much of the store really isn't our "style" and is more modern, but that isn't the store's fault. That is merely our taste. Each of the things we were looking for weren't present in the store to see in real life. Instead, we dealt with a massive tv-sized tablet to view items digitally. I wasn't crazy about this, as buying furniture sight unseen is a little daunting, as this is no small investment. The individual helping us seemed relatively new, as he was unfamiliar with how to find what we were looking for. The manager, however, was very knowledgeable and helped him locate our items in the inventory. When it came time to check out, prices did not match online pricing. Rather, they were significantly higher. Getting a price match was challenging, although we eventually got it. Our associate spent a great deal of time trying to sort this part out. Again, I would describe the store visit as "okay," but the service was hit or miss, confusing, and was a struggle. Delivery was decent. They arrived in the allotted time and were friendly. Furniture arrived in perfect condition. However, they were rather messy and left a lot of cleanup to be done. Overall, it served its purpose. Furniture is good and we are happy with it. Ashley as a company is not nearly as polished as Raymour, however. read more

This store is located in a prime shopping location and has a competitor furniture store so close to it. We got here as we weren't happy with the delivery delay quoted to us during the peak COVID period (this was back in Nov 2021). We were in immediate need of furnitures and couldn't afford any delays. Stopped into this store and we got Mr.James attend to us immediately. The good thing here is that he didn't push us or stood in our heels all along while we were looking out. But he promptly appeared whenever we had questions. The selections of furnitures and overall ambience of the store are fantastic. Parking is not an issue at this place. We planned to get only sofas and ended up getting a dining table too. Thank you, Ashley! read more

We purchased two full size mattresses and two box springs. We were told by our salesman that if our bed frame had the slats then we do not need the box springs and they could be returned. They were $299.99 each in store. Online they were $250.00. However if we price matched to the online price then they couldn't give us the special financing using our Ashley card so we proceeded to overpay. The delivery team dropped it off at 6am today and didn't even remove them from the packaging. I contacted the store to return them since we set the beds up and we have the slats and do not need the box spring. Well we were now told that we cannot return these box springs. So we basically paid $600.00 for nothing, along with overpaying based on the online price. Any other store we visited accepts returns even after they were "accepted" into the home. Do your research and shop elsewhere!! We were told false information and now we are stuck with two box springs that cannot be returned. Clearly profits are more important than their customers. read more

I bought a jewelry cabinet that was sold by multiple stores and websites. I chose Ashley because I recognized the name. The assembly required was not the usual "putting on the legs" but building the entire extremely heavy piece myself. The last door to be aligned and screwed in (at an extremely awkward angle using special tools) is pre-drilled incorrectly and cannot be hung. The facade is entirely mirrors and as stated, very heavy. It can't possibly be returned. The chat function is disabled on the website and there is no published email. I haven't tried calling as the very idea of talking to a person using a script and telling me to ship the 45 pound all glass piece is just too depressing. read more

Do not trust the salesman named John. Not only is the salesman John a liar, but his supervisor is also a liar, who admitted to me over the phone that he is actually a liar. Jon the salesman promised to discount the sofa I purchased because he had given me the wrong dimensions to the sofa that ended not fitting in my house even though I had given him the exact measurements and confirmed with him prior to buying the sofa that it will fit. John's supervisor then REFUSED to honor the discount he promised and literally admitted that he lied to me. He admitted that he is, indeed, a liar to me on the phone multiple times. The customer service at this Ashley furniture is absolutely atrocious. Beware that I warned you absolutely not to trust this Ashley furniture. Definitely do not trust John the salesman or his supervisor. read more

I cannot believe I did not listen to others when it came to this store. I went ot the showroom in person and dealt with a condiscending representative of this company and chose to make my purchase online. What a mistake! After confirming my delivery date, and making the arrangements to be home for said delivery, I get a phonecall saying my delivery is cancelled and they can't give me a definitive date for delivery. This is poor and honestly, I have not been this angry with a company in a long time. I will tell everyone through yelp and soon to be posted on Facebook, DO NOT BY FROM ASHLEY. I went to Ashley furniture when I bought my new house and purchased over $6,000 worth of furniture and one of the items was a bed. The bed came with wooden slats that broke within one day of use. They replaced the slats three times because they would break within one or two days. They finally gave me a metal frame that lasted a year before it broke I call the platinum protection insurance and they tell me that everything is covered under the warranty except the slats. I then call the store and they tell me there is nothing they can do. Ashley furniture is a complete and utter scam. They take your money and give you defective products. I want to give them negative stars but yelp only allows me to put one star. read more

I would've loved to provide a better review, but the experience after our purchase had a huge part of the negative review. We recently moved across the country and purchased a bedroom set along with a couch and coffee table. When we looked at the couch/coffee table, it looked like it'd go well. However, we had to go with a smaller width on the couch due to the space in our living room (which both sales personnel were aware of), but both sales personnel and ourselves did not catch that when we decided to purchase it. When it was delivered, we felt rushed to check for damages since we were given the phone and didn't realize we had to do an inspection of all the furniture we purchased. The phone connection wasn't the best and I told the rep we didn't spot any damage and I signed the paperwork. Minutes after the delivery crew left, we sat down on the couch and realized that the coffee table was A Lot bigger than in the store and realized that none of us took into account that we were getting a shorter couch than what we pictured in the store. I called the salesperson within 5 minutes of the delivery crew leaving to let her know hoping we could exchange it for something else that fits. She told me she tried to ask her manager, but never heard from the manager and I kept having to contact her to get any possible updates. When we signed for the in store purchase, we were not told that it was a final sale. One thing I did notIce was that they automatically added the Warranty service for every product. I actually was planning on getting it, but again, a disappointment as a customer that they add it without even giving an option. When I called the customer service hotline, The rep on the phone was rude and was pretty much trying to hang up the phone on me. I've been in Sales/customer service for over 15 years and overall, the customer service was beyond disrespectful and disappointing. The delivery was another thing. they kept changing the delivery time which was frustrating since we live in an apartment building and have to schedule the service elevator. They did set up the furniture in a timely manner, however, once they left our apartment, the hallway had splinters of wood and staples from the packaging. The crew never came back to clean up which, again, was beyond disappointing. I brought this up to the sales person and again, she told me a manager would reach out to me, but never got a call. I know there wasn't much they could do from that point, but again pretty piss poor customer service from the management. In addition, I Already had to call the furniture insurance due to an internal arm rest issue on the couch after only having it for less than 2months! There's a squeaky noise inside the armrest and waiting for a technician at some point. I left a review through Ashley Furniture as well, and haven't heard anything back. We purchased a sofa and bedroom set from Shanene Vergara from Ashley Furniture in Secaucus, NJ and had a good experience. However, in August of 2022 we purchased an outdoor seating set and Shanene Vergara wasn't available that day, so we ended up dealing with James Way, this was a mistake. We purchased the set and were given a delivery date. After the sale we were told the pieces would be delivered separately. Over the next month or so we received all but one of the pieces in the set. Then the issues started. The delivery date of missing piece was pushed back again and again. James Way never reached out to let us know the delivery would not happen or provide any kind of update. We would have to call him over and over to get a response which was always a rude one. Asked for a supervisor and nothing. So, we have now resulted to texting James Way so James Way cannot claim he didn't get the call. Just reached out to James Way yesterday, two weeks after the "new" delivery passed and after receiving no update from James Way. Shockingly enough the delivery has been pushed to April. It is now March 2023, and the missing piece is scheduled for delivery in April 2023, (we were not even provided a date). That is 8 months after we purchased the set. We have never received an explanation or even a courtesy apology (not even expecting it to be sincere lol). Obviously, we are not expecting delivery in April or to be contacted that it was moved again. We understand James Way is not making and delivering the furniture, but James Way is the person who we dealt with, and James Way is basically representing Ashley when dealing with us. So, when James Way doesn't even care enough to give an update or explanation of what is going on here it makes Ashley as a whole look bad. We are going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs since James Way and Ashley do not seem to care that we purchased an item 7 months ago and have no actual timeline for receiving what we paid for. We cannot return the partial set we do have either, so we are stuck with an incomplete set at this point with no resolution in sight. There are plenty of other places to purchase furniture and I would recommend going with one of those. Or at the very least not dealing with James Way at this Ashley location. this man Greg Lawson is an absolute con artist. he will give you his personal phone number and make you feel valued but the minute you cancel even a partial order, there will be a sudden cease of communication. no confirmation of cancelling, only to find out 6 months later that there is some sort of hidden balance. I've been trying to cancel their credit card which I thought had a balance of 0$ only to be find out that I'm being charged 300$ for a gift with purchase that was 300$ mattress topper. read more

I purchased an Ashley Grearview Earth Wide Seat Power Recliner from 1stopbedrooms.com on 7/29/2022. It was delivered in mid August. In December, the power mechanism started to grind and slow, and then in January not only did the power mechanism stop operating, but the frame bent on both sides when trying to put the recliner in the down position! That is just over 4 months of use. I am 5'7" and weigh 145 pounds, not that this should matter. I have sent numerous emails to 1stopbedrooms along with videos and receipts. They indicate there was no warranty and my claim is denied. No warranty was offered at time of purchase. As well, in Texas the implied warranty on a product is 2 years. Ashley was contacted and they refuse to honor their product liability implied warranty. Their response was that frame damage is not covered. So, I now have to file suit against 1stopbedrooms as well as Ashley, just to get my recliner replaced or my money refunded. So, BUYER BEWARE! read more

On 1/23/2023 I ordered a Queen size sofa sleeper from 1Stopbedroom online at 1StopBedrooms - Furniture & Home Decor Store aka Ashley for $1,213.12 plus the mattress, $218.99 totaling $1,432.11. They promised that the merchandise would be delivered in 10 days (which did not happen). Then I received an email and phone call on 2/1/2023 stating that I needed to pay another $328.48 for the mattress. The product details never referenced an order add-on for a mattress, so it appeared to be all-inclusive so when I received the message that I was being required to pay an additional $328.48 I told the person from the sales department who contacted me that I wanted to cancel. They talked me out of canceling by lowering the price by $100 and giving me a free warranty. So then I just paid an extra $218.99 and the order was placed. There were 2 delivery attempts to my home. First I want to mention that in the fine print of the order, "stairs" was included in the delivery option that I paid for that was included in my order. And the shipping that I paid for with the order was "room of choice". Now on the 1st delivery attempt, there was 1 delivery guy trying to deliver the 200pd couch by himself. When he got to my 2 story townhome he asked to see where the couch was to be taken to. When I told him upstairs he said he could not do it by himself and stated that he was going to have to reschedule the delivery. On the 2nd delivery attempt, 2/21/2023, there were 2 delivery guys. As soon as the guys got to my home the first guy came in and asked where I wanted the couch and when I told him upstairs he told me that he could not lift it. I asked him if he had someone to help and another guy came off of the truck and they both said that they cannot lift the 200-pound couch up the stairs. I was upset and asked if they would try because I made notes on my order that it needed to go to the 2nd floor and that the order included stairs. After they heard me out the guys brought the couch in and got to the stairs and said they could not lift it up the stairs. They took 2 pictures and then started to leave. I made them take the couch with them because at that point they failed to deliver to my room of choice as requested. I decided because of the way that the company poorly handled the delivery and that they didn't send people equipped to do the job as they knew the weight of the couch before I ordered it and that is not my job as the consumer to carry a couch upstairs as my order requested it to be delivered. I canceled and they are charging me a return fee of $488.25, a 15% restocking fee of 157.33, non-refundable white glove/delivery/room of choice fee non-refundable of $149.99 bringing it to a total cancellation fee of $795.57. I paid $1,432.11 for this couch and they are only giving me back $417.55 which is unacceptable. To make matters worse the tacky delivery company that was sent damaged the front door and the walls of my home that I am renting which I will have to pay for, and they are not acknowledging my repeated complaint about it. I keep calling the company, 1StopBedrooms, and they will not help me and will not allow me to speak with an Executive level person nor did anyone call me back to discuss the issue, as promised. I have pictures of the damages and someone was here with me as my witness when all of this took place, for both delivery attempts. I am extremely angry about this tacky transaction, and I am not going to stop pursuing this company and letting everyone know about this including legal representation.
