Dr. Kacker was recommended to me by my endocrinologist as one of the best for my problem. I needed a parathyroidectomy which Dr. Kacker flawlessly performed last week and I must say, my recovery has been quick and painless. I feel very fortunate to have had him as my surgeon. I waited a month for a 2-3 minute exam and have to agree with the other reviewers who found Dr Kacker bored, impatient, dismissive and lacking in empathy. I don't have anything dramatic requiring surgery, and I suspect that's the problem. He had a real I-got-sicker-patients-than-you (or maybe more lucrative) vibe about him. He made some stock suggestions and did not suggest a follow up; he obviously couldn't give a crap if they worked. read more

Another great Weill Cornell ENT. I was able to make an appointment very quickly, and the in-office wait was under 5 minutes. Dr. Kacker himself is very polite and professional, and great at both listening and communicating. Within a few minutes he gave me the diagnosis I was seeking and gave helpful information about another, dormant issue which he was able to.detect. Update: that other diagnosis? It was becoming a real problem, so he very quickly scheduled, and expertly performed, surgery. I was expecting it to be fairly traumatic, but before I knew it I was recovering remarkably well. Had breathing issues that I needed surgery for after having all of the proper testing and scans. Dr. Kacker was recommended to me by my local ENT, and I had an excellent time getting everything done by him. Super professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and understanding. This is first time in my life ever writing a negative review - but it is well deserved. Dr. Kacker showed no concern for my wellbeing as a patient. His patients are nothing but a paycheck to him. I scheduled an appointment with him to discuss breathing issues due to enlarged tonsils and a deviated septum. He spent less than 2 minutes with me, wrote a prescription for flonase and singular, and said that we have to 'look like we are attempting conservative treatment' before insurance would cover surgery. After a follow up visit I decided not to pursue surgery, and received a bill for close to $1000 after my insurance already made a payment. Dr Kacker claims he performed a 'nasal endoscopy' on me, which in reality, was him looking up my nose and at my tonsils with a light for all of 30 seconds. Unbelievably bad practice, does not care about his patients, and inflates his visits to squeeze every penny out of both patients and insurance. Look elsewhere for a trustworthy ENT. read more

My wife and I are both patients of Dr Kacker (for different problems) and we both love him. Dr Kacker's style is like an excellent waiter, if that makes sense.He spends as much time as you need him to, but doesn't waste your time. He is all business but courteous, does your exam efficiently, explains everything/gives you instructions and makes sure you understand, asks if you have any questions, tells you when he wants to see you next and then gets you back to your day. If you are looking for a good ENT with excellent credentials who takes care of your problems and gets you in and out fast, I couldn't recommend him more highly. I've had an annoying, sometimes stressful clicking sound in my right ear for over a year. I'm knowledgeable about medicine, I read the professional journal articles, and I diagnosed myself with middle-ear myoclonus. There are no good studies pointing to a definite cure, but almost all studies recommended starting with an anxiolytic (like Xanax), then possibly moving to Botox injections, and lastly surgery. Dr. Kacker did a 2-3 minute exam, spoke rapidly using technical medical terms (which I knew but most people wouldn't), confirmed my diagnosis, scheduled an mri, and told me "not to think about it" to relieve my anxiety. He seemed bored, and made no attempt at empathy or trying to understand my subjective feelings. I'll never go back. read more

Dr.Kacker is very talented surgeon. He preforms surgery with the minimal recovery time. You would get the results that will exceed the pickiest person expectations. My daughter underwent tonsillectomy and was pain free on day 5 and didn't even need Tylenol. She went to work on day 7 and everyone couldn't believed how fast she recovered. We never had to use narcotics at all for her mild pain during her swift recovery. He also performed adenoidectomy which gave her amazing aesthetic results narrowing her nose to elegant shape externally as an added and unexpected bonus.Brilliantly gifted, exceptionally skilled surgeon with delicate touch. He is an amazing diagnostician as well. I come to him for issues that don't even relate to ENT and he solves every problem.It is a great privilege to receive his expert care. This fellow has struck out twice with me, and therefore I am posting my displeasure and advise those reading to go elsewhere. My visit to Dr. Kacker was a result of some ear blockage that had persisted over an exyended period of time. I thought maybe he'd be able to dig it out or something. In the office, In tell him there's blockage, and what can he do. I get a hearing test, and he tells me that I have "moderate to severe" hearing loss, and that it may well be permanent, as a result of my delay in coming to see a doctor. He recommended an MRI and gave me some antibiotics. Having a doctor tell me that I lost much of my hearing in one ear had me crying all the way up York Avenue. Of course, after the head scan, he tells it is blockage, which I thought all along. But he was quite assured in the first appointment that my hearing was gone. I'm no doctor, but I think that statements like permanent hearing loss shouldn't be put out there unless one is damn sure of the statement. Once I hear I'm OK, I don't stay mad at the guy. I ask him about earplugs for my fiancee, because I tend to snore a bit. He says those drug store things are junk, and they'll be able to custom-fit some plugs that are far superior. OK, so months later, she makes an appointment, leaves work (which costs her money because she's hourly IT consultant) and visits the office. She pays her co-payment, and sees Kacker, who diagnosises her ears, and then says an assistant will be in to fit her for the plugs. She comes in, and says with complete certitude, that these custom ear plugs will NOT assist with a snoring problem, and recommends drug store ear plugs. In this case, someone is wrong, and my fiancee left the office absolutely livid at the incompetence of this office. Because of her experience, I am making this post, and including the disregard in which he served my needs. read more

I am a few years late in writing this review Dr Kacker is an amazing doctor. My daughter, due to constanat ear infections was functionally deaf and in constant pain for the first two years of her life. After two surgeries by the supposed experts in Morristown we took her to see Dr. Kacker. in literaly thirty seconds he declared the previous doctors had put the wrong tubes in the wrong place. He declared: I can cure her. And he did. We owe a debt to this fine yet gruff physician that we can never repay read more

Dr. Kacker did an incredible job on my polyps and deviated septom. He is a great guy with wonderful bedside manners, and is always eager to help when needed. Another ENT doctor wanted to use a procedure that was outdated and Dr. Kacker urged me to let him do it his way. The results were astounding. I can breathe, no longer snore, and am very happy. i had a severe sinus infection from a dentist. it was agreed by the 4 surgeons i saw that i needed sinus surgery. 3 surgeons wanted to involve the tooth. dr. kacker disagreed. i went with him. the surgery was perfection, i can freely breathe, and i still have my tooth. dr. kacker did a great job and had the correct procedure to follow regarding my surgery. he is a cheerful and friendly dr., talkative, able to explain matters, and technically excellent. i do recommend him. read more

I am very upset to learn that I have empty nose syndrome from a procedure done by Dr. Kacker. He reduced my turbinates giving me a condition known as Empty Nose Syndrome. I am too dry and open. He did not explain that you need a turbinate to give you humidity. It has been a life changing condition and I can no longer breathe through one side of my nose. It has been a horrible experience. He should have explained why you need a turbinate and discussed my personal history and not done this procedure. I would not recommend Dr. Kacker to anyone! read more

My experience with him was great. I had major blockage causing pain and he was able to get it out, even though it was horrible. He was very gentle and apologetic with the pain that was caused when trying to take out the wax. He provided me with sample drops so I did not have to buy them from the pharmacy. I thought he was very pleasant and my ears are feeling great. read more

I am a huge fan of Dr. Kacker after a recent tonsillectomy. I had been sick with tonsillitis and mono for more than a year and now am well again. I feel quite lucky that he takes my insurance and than I am back on the road to feeling great. read more

Great experience. Dr. Kacker was to the point with great bedside manner. He listened to all of my concerns and I really felt like he was genuinely interested. He recommended a few courses of action and all of them seemed the least aggressive but effective. If I could give this fraud a minus rating I would. My wife had developed an acute earache with appreciable hearing loss. Our primary physician recommended Kacker so we made an appointment. When we saw him, he was perfunctory in the extreme, looked at her ears (without probes) and said she had impacted wax and promptly started aspirating her ears. He said that after his magical wax removal, she would regain her hearing. And even though the interior of one ear was moist and inflamed he proclaimed her infection free. He also told her she should cancel the hearing test she had set up at his clinic for the next day. When we got home, my wife's condition worsened and we eventually checked her in to New York Presbyterian, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She now had almost total hearing loss in the inflamed ear. And when we told her medical team that Dr. Kacker had told her to cancel her hearing test, they were stunned and arranged for an audiologist to examine her. Her pneumonia is being treated successfully, but she remains deaf in the "non-infected" ear. If she suffers any permanent hearing loss, Dr. Kacker can certainly expect to be facing a malpractice suit. read more
