There was a special play night for Valentine's Day so it was super busy as parents dropped off their kids to get some time alone. We were that group. The main activity was gymnastics and our little one liked it so much that she asked to re-enroll in gymnastics after school. She was previously enrolled but got bored and stopped, but now she wants to go again. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Things can get chaotic at times but in general they do a good job keeping things moving in the right direction. ASI has become an institution in Lakewood and really carved out a niche that parents and kids enjoy. I have a feeling that we will be back for special nights or after school lessons. read more

The party was disappointing. Instead of letting the kids enjoy themselves and socialize, they were expected to follow the coach around the entire time. It felt more like another practice than a celebration. A party should give kids the chance to relax, have fun, and interact freely with their teammates. This is a solid "good enough" activity for toddlers. The facility is fine and the staff is very friendly and enthusiastic, which the kids seem to respond well to. However, the initial experience feels a bit impersonal. We've met a couple of different instructors now, and neither bothered to learn or repeat my child's name during check-in or class. While the energy is high, it would be great to see a bit more effort in making the families feel recognized rather than just another face in the crowd. read more

Our daughter and son in law had our two oldest grandsons' birthday celebration today at ASI Gymnastics location. I was most impressed with the facility, the staff and especially the two young men who led the boys and girls in a number of exercises and play. I have never seen a more dedicated group of young professionals conduct their assignments is such an outstanding manner. I want to especially commend the young gentleman who the leader of all of the activities. It was obvious that he thoroughly enjoyed his job and made this experience a positive for all concerned. My daughter was attending a birthday party for her friend and having a lovely time. However my 2 year old was also along, they asked her to sit out or play with the 6 year olds. I have a photo of my young daughter sitting out having to watch her sister and her friends play because "the rules" won't allow her to be on the age appropriate section with her father. I understand safety and needing to have a waiver signed, I support it! However, show some discretion and use common sense please. I am extremely disappointed and they will receive no further business from me. read more

We held my son's 5th birthday here and has the BEST time. From start to the finish, the ASI team was great. Booking/communication: easy to book online and received confirmation via email. Each time I called, staff was so helpful and friendly. I was able to go before to see the set up so I knew items to bring. Room: Great size and we had a large group 31 kids + parents. Plenty of space for shoes, items, set up. Logistics: initially, I was surprised that the party time was 90 minutes but it was the perfect amount of time. We opted for an hour long activity 30 minutes for late lunch/sing HBD. If you are the last party of the day, you have the option to add an additional 30 minutes. Set-up: Hakeem and team were amazing and so helpful. They took care of it all. I had a vision and he executed beyond what I had thought. They made everything soooo easy that I could actually just enjoy the party. Tip: since they serve the food, drinks, it's helpful to have trays or foil trays so they can pass things around. That being said, they did an awesome job improvising and working with what I brought. Activity: my favorite part. Unlike many parties where it feels like a free for all, the hour of time for play was structured. Hakeem led the kids to various areas, inviting kids to play. Even the open play was boxed in. Parents could sit on the bleachers, chit chatting away. It was great. Clean-up: they took care of packing everything and cleaning up everything. All in all... my kid was over the moon happy. We had such a good time and couldn't be more thankful to ASI (huge shot out to Hakeem) for helping my son's birthday celebration a huge success! read more

My 3.5 year loves ASI and has been taking their 5 hour gymnastics camp this summer. You can choose the whole week from either 8-1 or 1-6 or any day or days that works for you. The staff is very friendly and caring. The space is huge and clean! They even have Ninja Warrior training. read more

I thought very highly of this place until it became clear that anything you booked even three months ahead of time is non-refundable when you try to cancel. Summer plans fluctuate a lot, especially for two working parents trying to cover every week and balancing multiple waitlists. Seems like a poor policy. Wish there were other options for gymnastics nearby. read more

We had an amazing experience with ASI hosting our daughter's 5th birthday! The coaches were amazing and the kids were happy and tired by the time they left. The coaches helped with set up, serving, and even cutting the cake! I will be considering them for her next birthday as well. We had our daughter's 3rd birthday here last weekend and it was a total blast! Alera and Jake were the party coaches and were fantastic with all the kids. They even loaded and unloaded the party supplies, gifts, etc from our car, helped decorate, cut and distributed the cake, and did all the clean-up! It was the first "thing" my daughter ever participated in a group with and honestly I was so excited to see her participate in gymnastics!Unfortunately the teacher Jazlin never asked our name, never talked to my daughter, and we never felt welcome. My 2.5 year old refuses to go back which breaks my heart. I wanted to try another teacher but their waitlisted and now I've just waster half our membership dues, which is too high for what they offer. read more

Coach Hannah has been great. However, I can't say our overall experience has been all that great with ASI Lake Highlands. My daughter attends the Kids Gym Level 1 class. We switched from a weekend class because the instructor was literally a bump on a log. Anytime we've had a makeup class, my daughter is treated like the ugly stepchild which is one issue I have. Another is that most of the coaches don't really seem to care for children. They are impatient with children. Also, there are too many children in a class to get any sort of instruction, attention or correction. The coaches seem overwhelmed and almost irritated. We have been attending for a little over a year and have finally thrown in the towel. Especially after today. Another makeup class that I called days in advance to schedule. We arrive at 9 AM and she is on no one's attendance sheet. They are able to squeeze her in but again, the coach paid very little attention to my child. Other children in the group were running all over the place. My daughter clearly was not having a good time, I pulled her aside. The rest of the class went on to the next area and we left without anyone caring or even noticing. Thank goodness I wasn't a stranger taking off with someone's child! A wonderful place for jumping, tumbling, exercising and other gerunds that make tots tired. The kiddo has been attending a tots class here on a regular basis for almost a year now, and she truly looks forward to her weekly trip. In the tots class, parents are quasi-active participants. I'm not sure if we're there to help the little ones learn or for crowd-control measures. I tend to lean toward the latter, but it's likely a wash. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Each member appears to enjoy the responsibility of helping kids learn and the kids respond with enthusiasm. The classes in the other age groups always appear to be having fun and the instructors seem to be firm without being harsh or demanding on the youngsters. In our case, the enthusiasm spills over at home with a barrage of somersaults, stretches and jumping. I'm thankful there's such a constructive way for her to increase her kinesthetic skills as she develops an appreciation for organized play/exercise. The fact that it induces an extended nap-time each weekend is just a bonus. Not sure how else I'd find time to thoroughly clean the house. read more

Bought 2 Groupons for ASI for my 2 daughter and each Groupon was for 2 months. I gave them my Groupons and the girls started gymnastics class. Around the second visit I was told my children would be dropped for non payment and the Groupons were only for 1 month. I was told I needed to contact Groupon to straighten everything out and I did and complained so Groupon issued a refund. The classes are more just for fun. Its not strict training and the coached just seem like a bunch of kids there to help your child flip. In my daughters class there were about 9 5-7 year olds to one coach and you can tell it was hard for him to keep them all on track. The cost is really high for what you get and it smells inside the building. The staff at the front is not helpful or sincere as you can see from my first paragraph. Needless to say, my girls wont be attending ASI anymore. I have signed them up with a smaller family owned gymnastic place. read more

I've only come here for birthday parties for my daughter's friends but they are awesome! The young ladies that lead the entertainment are so full of energy and peppy and keep the kids entertained! They have a lot of fun activities for the kids. I highly recommend this place for birthday parties. I am thinking of having it for my daughter next year. They have a room where you can bring your own food for the party and your drinks. The ladies even help serve your kids. read more

There are not enough stars to review ASI when it comes to birthday parties. We had our 3 year old's party here in January and it was so much fun. We also had my 5 year old nephew's party here last year. While we have not tried ASI for regular gymnastics, I would definitely give it a try. The instructors were happy and engaging with the ~20 toddlers. They kept the kids' attention the entire hour. In addition to being phenomenal with the children, the instructors prepped the party room, distributed cupcakes and goodie bags, cleaned up after everyone, and helped us unpack and pack the car. I literally did nothing but show up with party supplies, and ASI took care of the rest. I can't believe that this place doesn't have 5 stars from everyone. You should try it. I took my daughter to a trial class here and I was not impressed. The people in the office seemed dull and lethargic. My daughter seemed to enjoy her class enough but when it was over the teacher didn't com and talk to me about the possibility of my daughter joining the class. She just walked right by me without a word. The people at the front desk handed me an information sheet about the class and then went back to chatting amongst themselves or looking at their cell phones. The parents who were on the sidelines while the class was going on were all on their cell phones or staring listlessly into space. No one was chatting or engaging in the lesson going on. The overall impression I got from this gym was that it isn't a place that breeds champions. It smelled terribly of feet and was quiet in a creepy way. I don't think I'll go back. read more

Best birthday venue for 4 to 7 year olds in town! The party coach treats the birthday child super special through out the party...the attention is on your child, and his/her friends get a place that is reserved esp. for the party. (not like some places where they are running wild thru a video game room, yuck!) Also, the monthly Parents Night Out is awesome! Kids don't want to leave! ASI provides cleaver themed games, dancing, food, face painting, and trampoline bouncing. It is so much better than a babysitter. Classes and after school program are taught by energetic coaches who take time with each student. Usually there are no more than 6 kids per coach. They also have special arrangements for kids with special needs and will provide a one-on-one coach for your child who helps develop balance and independence. We are so lucky to live in Lake Highlands and have ASI so close. read more

horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wrote a review after our 10 minute visit about how horrible these people are to toddlers.....now i called because they put name stickers on the back of my kids' shirts....did i mention we left after 10 minutes because they were all so rude? anyway, i took off the stickers, have washed the shirts at least 9 times (3..one for each child), and the shirts are ruined. the sticky will not come off!!!!!!!!!! i called and amy was not in so i spoke to the person "in charge", kristin...she has the nerve to say, "did you take off the stickers before you washed them? mind you, she knew who i was and i have 6 kids!!!! i know how to do laundry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would not send a stray dog to this place, much less recommend anyone who cares about their children or their clothing to go there. poorly run, immature, power hungry staff... read more

My 4 year old daughter actually fractured her arm while on the trampolines. Now I don't blame any one, accidents happen but my daughter tried to tell the coach and the thing that kind of pissed me off is he did not take it into consideration how serious she was being. Instead she was told to just sit down and wait while he of course paid attention to the much more advance kids. Every other kid was just kind of doing their own thing and then this accident happened. I ended up just grabbing my daughter over the small wall divider and rushed to the ER where they told me she injured her elbow growth plate. She is now in a cast for weeks. This gym puts way too many kids per class/coach and not everyone gets proper attention. They should definitely take any kind of concern from the children with all seriousness. My daughter attends a weekly class here for 4 year olds. She enjoys the class and the instructors are great with children. We also had my daughter's birthday here. The staff was fantastic! They easily entertained 22 3 / 4 year olds. The coaches kept the children entertained and returned 22 tired children in 2 hours. They also helped me set up and take down the party. The staff made it so I could even enjoy the party as the mom. Once I turned over my birthday supplies, they set up and ran the party. It was wonderful and I had time to take photos and enjoy my child's enjoyment. My daughter would have the party there again and I would attend any birthday party held there. I wanted to try out their parents night out and I have been considering their groupon - I decided to check out this location - Lake Highlands. I took my two girls 10 and 8 for the parents night out. The place was overrun with kids - poor supervision. There were like 10 kids to one "instructor". There was no clear rules and they seemed to just haphazardly figure out games on the spot - one was where they just threw the ball (dodgeball?) with the age range of my kids. Nobody came out to see if they were new and to acclimatize them so of course they were super shy. The ones that seemed were regulars dominated the games and the attention of the instructor. After 15 minutes of being there - the kids were bored and I was not pleased with the lack of organization and supervision and how they were "entertaining" the kids. Needless to say - I will not be buying their groupon or utilizing their date nights any more. Sigh and I really wanted to like it coz their groupon deal is great. read more

This is a decent place but the customer service is definitely lacking. They offered a Groupon for Parents Night Out and expressly said they would honor it for this purpose. Not a professional place at all. Not a place for a serious gymnast. They are more concerned with the amount of kids they can fit I'm the gym which by the way is to many. Small kids are constantly in the way of the bigger girls traning. read more
