This was my favorite Chinese restaurant in Montgomery. First off, the staff is friendly and service oriented. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken which was prepared differently than in times past. I was lucky if there was 3 oz. of chicken on my plate, paper thin sliced, with lots of bell peppers, rice and bamboo shoots. It had a unique spice in the dish that was different. My cup of Hot & Sour soup had some thin metal wire in it. Weird. I think something has changed in the kitchen. The decor is the same as 15-20 years ago when I first ate at the restaurant. read more

Have been a regular at this place for over 25 years. First dealt with as an ABC Agt and they were always 100% in compliance with all laws & regs. Food I found to be delicious and authentic (I was in Thailand for 4 years during VietNam war). Their Hot & Sour soup is unbeatable. That staff is very friendly and accommodating, have seen some grow up from babies to adults. The menu is extensive and comprehensive, suiting all tastes and fancies. Been there twice so far and the food is pretty good. Some of the dishes I've eaten has been okay and others have been good as well. Everyone cooks their dishes differently but not bad. After many years of ignoring this restaurant I finally gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised. Very comfortable and clean environment suitable for conversation or meeting. Diverse menu of Japanese, Thai and Chinese dishes. The food was a higher quality than most other similar restaurants thus the name Asian Bistro. The flavor of the dishes was good and slightly unique. The quantity was perfect and altogether worth the price. Lunch specials are discounted. I will prioritize this restaurant for Asian food in East Montgomery. Both take out and eat in. Asia Bistro was a great spur of the moment choice. They have a large selection that includes some Thai and Chinese food strongholds. Service was very attentive, and pricing was great. My boyfriend got beef and broccoli, but I opted for the Thai curry fried rice with shrimp. The flavor was great and appropriately spicy. I will definitely be adding this to my go to list in Montgomery. We also shared their steamed dumplings which are pork and vegetable. Those were equally well seasoned. I travel for business and like eat at mom & pop restaurants... they usually have great food. This place was awesome. I started with a Singha beer from Thailand cold frosted glass. Then ordered some fried dumplings, definitely homemade, and great. I ordered 2 dinners, one of them was for lunch. I had the House Pad Thai it was good very fresh and had a scramble egg on top nice touch. Then I had Shrimp Mandarin Style it had a nice spicy tomato based sauce with peas and carrots... this place was fabulous read more

I love eating here! It's one of my favorite places to eat in Montgomery. I think the Chinese menu has some of the best this place has to offer. This picture is of hot pepper pork (far plate) and the shredded potato with pork. Both of them really pack some spice so keep that in mind. The Japanese entrees are also really good! This is a really good place! I've eaten here about 4 times, and they're sweet people. My food is always good and they literally created a new entrance to do their part to stay in business while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines. My first time ordering a carry out order, my food wasn't ready on time (I didn't mind or get mad because I had nothing else to do--it was my only outing of the day and I'm not an entitled prick haha) and they were extremely apologetic. This is my 4th time going and I haven't had a problem since. I love this place! read more

This place was a nice surprise to us. We happened to be driving through Alabama and went to Yelp (of course) to find suggestions on where to stop and eat quickly while in Montgomery. So, the reviews led us to this wonderful place that could easily be missed. We were quickly greeted by a very nice older woman behind the bar and a younger female. They were very very nice! We were going to do takeout, but decided to sit and eat. We ordered and received appetizers immediately. The eggrolls were good, but just beware...shrimp eggroll has pork in it, which I don't eat, but they exchanged it for a veggie springroll. Next our food came out. I got the Chicken Thai Fried Rice and my husband got the Curry Chicken Thai rice. First, it was a lot of food. Then with the first bite, I could see why Yelpers gave good reviews. It was delicious and hit the spot! This will definitely be in our mind should we ever return to AL (doubt it, but at least we know where to eat if we find ourselves there again). read more

Frankly the worst Asian food I've ever had, and I've had some pretty bad stuff before. The people were nice, but the food was a mere cousin to what it was trying to portray. It was cold, underdone, overpriced and had no taste. The fact that they offer so many different kinds of Asian food was intriguing, but I guess it's true what they say, "to do one thing well, is better than doing a million things poorly." Had an early dinner and enjoyed it very much. My husband had the General Tso's chicken which had a nice flavor, spicy but not too hot. Also the chicken was not breaded and fried! One of the best Chinese restaurants I've found in Montgomery. I usually judge on the quality of a restaurant's Hot and Sour soup and this place has the second best in Town. One of only two places I've found in Montgomery that even tries to make it correctly.
