I have eaten here a dozen times in the past 2 years and I live 50 miles away. Super convenient to the Interstate, it's a great place to go with a group because everyone can get their favorites. My personal favorites are the appetizers: dumplings, egg rolls, crab rangoon, shrimp, and more. For my entree I go over to the Mongolian bbq and make a plate of meats, noodles(or rice) and fresh vegetables which a chef cooks on the grill to my specifications. It's excellent! Besides a huge variety of Sushi and Asian dishes, they have some American foods for the kids and a large fruit and dessert bar. I have taken many different people with me and I have never heard a complaint. The dining room is huge, clean, and busy, but not crowded. The service is spot on. Amazing how Asia Grill and Buffet can continue getting low marks and yet they are open for hungry patrons. It must be because those that do AYCE at Asian or Chinese buffets are typically very selective about what to scoop up. Our party of four did a long ride from the NW side of Lake Lanier to celebrate an anniversary and to have our last dine out before flying back to the SoCal. We looked at all the hot foods and cold foods aisles and were careful to only put fresh items on our plates. Our son is always good with fish and he scored as the thickest steamed white fish was on his plate. I am inclined to get soups and fresh vegetables and some fried chicken. I skipped much of the Chinese foods like Lo Mein and fried rice and most other similar and well known food items. The ribs were great! The lovely missus did much the same. Some of what we put on our plate had real wows like the big white fish, and Clams, and a perfect rare steak from the cook. Several types of shrimps are also on the buffet and choose wisely for freshness and flavor. There were Vegan vegetable choices such as mushrooms and Broccoli, and that is very important. Plenty of yummy desserts and cutup fruits (Kiwi was one of them). We finally finished our meals with flavorful cups of icecream. Asia Grill and Buffet was worthy of a long drive and we made a note to add it to our list of restaurants to return to. read more

Let's start with the pros. The price isn't bad compared to a lot of places. It's cheap if you consider the variety of food available for you to choose from. Now the cons. The service wasn't good. Like they would clear out plates, while I'm using them to put seafood shells or things like that. They gave us our check early, waiting for us to pay soon. They also require tip, for what? For cleaning plates and getting drinks. If we don't tip, they'll probably chase you down. It's ridiculous. They're also very rude, and makes me want to just eat as a fast as I can and leave. The food is worse than mediocre. The food is bland, the sushi isn't fresh till the fish doesn't look like fish, and the flavor isn't consistent. The inside doesn't even look that clean,l; you can see that it's a cheap, Asian buffet with mediocre food. Overall, would never come back. Their food was fine except for the sushi. When I was grabbing the sushi it kept sticking and wasn't the best compared to other sushi places like Kura revolving bar. The sushi also didn't have a video variety but it did have some types. The service was not good. We walked into the door and the person at the front seems to always be in a bad mood and can be rude from time to time. Nobody came to us and asked how was our food, if we were doing alright, any of that sort. My husband and I go to this buffet when we want sushi and a quick, inexpensive dinner. I recommend it for the sushi. The buffet is good, but a few items need improvement. The calamari is consistently dry and rubbery, the donuts are good when they're first brought out but they quickly become hard, and the dumplings have very little flavor. The crab rangoons however, are always delicious, as well as the wings, potatoes, pepper chicken, vegetables, and crawfish. Although I enjoy the buffet, the sushi is my favorite. Went here for dinner tonight with my family. When we were finished, our server brought our check to the table. We paid in cash and the server took it. As we were leaving out the door, we were chased and screamed at that we hadn't paid even though we already had. It was totally out of line and embarrassing as the manager and a different server did this in front of a bunch of people. They didn't even offer to apologize for their mistake. This was the first time I had gone to Asia Buffet since 2020 and I was a bit concerned based on many of the reviews here to the point where I almost didn't go. But I figured I'd give it a shot anyway and I'm glad I did. I went for lunch, around noon, on a weekday. The food was as I remembered but actually warmer than it used to be. There was a mask-wearing woman with a cart changing out the serving trays. Everything I've had here was always good or very good and that's really all I want from a buffet. I don't expect anything to knock me over with how great it is. The only time I've been here when the food was not good was in 2015 when I went too near closing time but that's just a bad idea for any buffet. I've never had a problem with the wait staff before but the servers I saw were friendly and looked happy even when they were at their server station. Whenever I would return from getting another plate my dirty plate would be gone from my table. I never needed a drink refill so I can't speak to that. They take your payment at the table whereas before you had to pay at the front cash register on your way out. The manager was a lady and not that nightmare guy that I read in some of these reviews so maybe he's gone. Overall I'm glad I went and I'll be back again. read more

I didn't think this place was bad at all. I have only been here once but I was impressed with the inside. It appeared very clean. It was a bit pricier then I'd have thought but not unreasonably. I am only giving it 3 stars because I don't eat alot of Asian food. I have an allergic type of reaction to much of it so I was very wary coming here. I will say they offered alot of things..and there were some things I could eat. I paced myself and just took what I knew I could have. Although I wasn't able to try everything, I did leave there full. I would not make it an every day thing of going here simply because it's time consuming having to look so carefully for things to eat and I am not a huge buffet fan anyway although when I do have it I prefer brunch buffets. What a pleasant surprise! I've passed by this place innumerable times since it opened. Looked sterile with no cars in the lot most of the time. Little did I realize all the cars were parked in back, where the main entrance door is. Don't know if I ever would have chosen to go here myself. However, my retirement buddy suggested it one day. He said the review he had read impressed him. So, upon entering the door, I was surprised to see a huge dining room with a large number of buffet tables. Closer inspection revealed all the buffet tables full of every variety of Asian cuisine you could imagine. Of course we found the typical dishes you normally see in an Asian restaurant, but they also had a number of seafoods, broiled steamed and fried, including fresh Sushi. Buffets are buffets. Chinese buffets are in a scope in and of themselves. What's there to say about a buffet? You go to a buffet to gorge on poorly created food. Chinese buffets tend to be the bottom of the barrel in the realm of quality. If we're judging based on quality, don't bother because this place is just not there. Flavor, again, pass on it. This place is seriously just the bottom of the barrel. I want to be as forgiving as possible considering I was there right when they opened and it's was a weekday but for goodness sake, can you at least try to bring up the quality of the food? Everything I had seemed like they were re-heated. The only "fresh" thing there was the sushi, but that's not saying much as buffet sushi is probably a health hazard. Worst food you can imagine, don't go to this place after 8pm. We came to this place at 9pm on Friday and half the buffet was empty. After sitting down We started to get the food. What ever food they had was stale and old which was not eatable. Called the manager and I was told that they are closing the kitchen and after 9 they don't put out food. Buffets usually have their food warm. This one all the foods were cold and tasted old. Got some "chicken wings" did not taste or look like chicken wings. All the comments about the waiter looking/asking for a tip is true! The waitress gave everyone at my table refills except me and my husband. She never cared to offer us! Awesome buffet for a little of nothing! The staff and owners are super friendly and helpful. The buffet was clean and seemed to get refreshed frequently. My favorite was the soups (egg drop, wonton, and sweet and sour), sushi station, and the black pepper chicken! Really good value for a family with kids with large appetites. There was even "non Asian" entrees available such as chicken wings, plantains, mac n cheese, tilapia, pizza, fries, etc. I didn't care to try any of those options. Decent Asian buffet near the Mall of Georgia with a hibachi option. Asia Grill and Buffet is located next to the intersection of I-985 and Buford Drive - a Murphy USA gas station is located adjacent to the restaurant. Decor isn't fancy. Service was adequate - plates were cleared at a reasonable pace. On the Menu: The sushi bar and the hibachi grill are first seen when you walk in. There's a decent selection of nigiri and a larger selection of rolls. The hibachi grill has beef steak, chicken, pork, and shrimp for protein selection. You can either have rice or noodles and pick vegetables which include bean sprouts, mushrooms, broccoli, white onions, and red onions with green peppers. Buffet selection is fairly large. The Asian food is fairly Americanized. There are a lot of different fried foods. Soups include egg drop and hot and sour. Dinner buffet has crawfish and ribs. What I Tried: Buffet ($10) - Because I was running a race the next day, I was less adventurous with the buffet than I usually am. I didn't try the sushi, but it looked decent. The chicken and broccoli and the pepper chicken were both fresh and cooked well. I got seconds of both of these dishes. In general, the vegetable dishes in the buffet looked and tasted good. Sweet and sour chicken was on par with other Asian buffets. Plantains were okay, but not my top choice. The plain rice had an odd taste that needed to be covered with gravy from the other dishes. Salmon was both dry and bland. It's not uncommon for fish on Asian buffets to be like this, but I wouldn't get it again. Hibachi (included) - I was impressed with the selection of items for the hibachi grill. The steak can be cooked from rare to well done. I mixed a plate of rice, chicken, steak, and vegetables and asked for teriyaki sauce. I liked how the steak was cooked in strips and then sliced into bite sized pieces at the end. My well done steak had decent texture, but I would ask for medium well next time. What I didn't like about the hibachi - the chef added probably three times as much sauce as was needed. Verdict: Asia Grill and Buffet was a restaurant that was neither impressive nor disappointing. The Asian-American buffet dishes are fresh and tasty and for $10, the meal is of good value. Had dinner last night. We went in at 5 p.m on Saturday night. What they had out looked decent as buffets go. Almost all the containers were mostly empty. We were told that they were that they were just starting to fill them up for dinner so we took them at their word and stayed. We were there for an hour and they never came out with one thing. The food we ate was the typical bad Chinese buffet. Everything tasted the same bland, greasy and luke warm. We told the manager and he didn't even bother to look up. I said to him that he didn't care and still didn't even get a reaction. We left and had to go to another restaurant to eat. It is not worth going to. I wish I could give them zero stars. A hibachi buffet place typically never qualifies for a good rating. However, this one does and I will tell you why. THE HIBACHI!! The Hispanic Guy behind the hibachi does an awesome job, at least in my case. In the hibachi, there are choices ranging from chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, eggs, rice, noodles and many types of veggies. I always take soy sauce, garlic, and salt n pepper on my choice, because I find it brings out the flavor without overdriving the taste. Give it a go!! Other than the hibachi there are many many more options, but whatever. The sushi is whatever you would expect from a hibachi buffet. Nothing to brag about. The service is good and the environment is clean, a little dark and also have the signature hibachi buffet smell ( but you will get used to it after 5 mins) .
