We just love this place. It is wonderful for takeout especially. I am so glad it is close. The workers are also very nice.

After 6-8 Years... Never Again! It started when we arrived. The late 20s cashier who has been their for years began taking the order of another person in our party and then interrupted them to take two phone orders. She informed that our orders will be delayed to the phone orders ahead of us. I went to place my three identical entries using their menu TAPED to the counter. When I was given the total it was significantly higher then what I had calculated asking what the price was since all three items were the same. The cashier informed each entree was $17.99 however the menu showed $14.99. She told me the price was $17.99 and that the menus have been incorrect for quite some time. She refused to adjust the price I for one am not going to pay $3 each for a total of $9 because the cashier is part owner is two lazy to update their menus and or not honoring the price posted ON THEIR COUNTER! I ended up taking my business elsewhere. They lost a long time patron. They are not the only Chinese restaurants in the area and we will not be coming back. I dont know what her malfunction is but she was flat out rude to everyone. read more

Ordered Sesame Chicken, and it was not edible. Cold and rubbery like it was microwaved. Fried rice was cold and hard. Lo mein had no vegetables in it and it was also cold. They should be embarrassed to serve this crap. Not even sure it was actually Chicken. They were just closed for a week, and should have stayed closed. Overall a decent experience, but nothing to write home about. Sesame chicken was very good. Chicken with broccoli was good. Egg rolls and spring rolls good but the egg rolls are TINY. They are barely bigger than the spring rolls and cost as much as egg rolls twice the size at other restaurants. Crab Rangoon should be called Cheese Wontons because there was no crab at all in them, however they were really delicious. They don't put sugar in the crab Rangoon, which made my husband and I happy because we can't stand really sweet Rangoon. I'd love to have that Rangoon again for sure. The fried rice and wonton soup were disappointing. The soup tasted like water and the pork inside the wontons was gristly. When my husband eats gristle he absolutely loses his appetite so he didn't eat any of his entree. The fried rice was very bland. Didn't taste of anything. Just rice and egg, no peas, no carrots, no onion. Unfortunate. I'm not sure if we will be back or not. Probably not because it was a little pricey for what it was and wasn't even that great for the most part. Also, the framed artwork and the wooden trim on the walls were thick with dust from not being cleaned in forever. Kind of unpleasant. I have ordered to go from China Garden on and off for the last five years and always been pleased with our order. I don't use door dash or other delivery services is that adds to the time and seems to drive reviews down but my son and I ordered the same thing every time, it's fresh, the vegetables are excellent in the moo goo gai pan and the hot and sour soup is what my so lies. After pandemic they are struggling but I pick up a d still feel the quality is good, maybe a bit smaller portions but good spring rolls and service to me. Near 985 recommend if you want Chinese. read more

I'm still gagging as I write this review and am honestly not even sure this is chicken... this is the broccoli & chicken meal and vegetable fried rice. The chicken was not edible and the rice had corn, Lima beans, and green beans in it... clearly a bag of frozen or canned veggies instead of the normal veggies in Chinese fried rice. Very strange. And the food all had the same metallic, old oil taste. I don't expect a "fine dining" meal from Chinese take-out and I don't even have high standards for food, but this was disgusting and I'm not sure how they even felt right about serving it to a customer. Our total was also $60 for two entrees and crab Rangoons, which was honestly all pretty gross. It's unfortunate this is Flowery Branch's only Chinese take out spot. read more

April 2019: Like I said in my last review, I'd come back for another try. This go around was much better. I believe owner has changed hands as everything is different. In 2018, it was an all-female crew. This time, all males. They no longer have spring rolls which was very disappointing because while I will eat egg rolls, they are not my favorite. There seems to be confusion between the menu, the order taker, and the cook. The menu clearly states an order of egg rolls is 2 but when I said "an order of egg rolls" the order taker asked how many I wanted. Since I only wanted one, I said "one." Imagine my surprise when I opened my order and found 2. For $2 and some change, 2 egg rolls is the fair price. The egg rolls here are much smaller than other restaurants. They are slightly larger than spring rolls at other establishments. Add to it, these are NOT vegetarian egg rolls. It only says "egg rolls" on the menu but be warned: there is pork in them!! Hot & sour soup: this took me by surprise as there are peas, carrots and corn in the soup! I'm not sure if they accidentally jumped in for a swim or if it was intentional. The first sip of soup definitely caught me off guard. Not because it was too hot or too spicy or too sour but it was too sweet! After my mistake of not specifying "small" I was stuck with a large cup of hot & sour soup so I continue to drink it as I'm typing up this review. I'm not going to say the soup is growing on me but the sweetness is subsiding as the spiciness kicks up a notch. I'll muster through the remaining of the soup as I'm too cheap to throw it away and too lazy to try and fix it. Shrimp fried rice: at about $9, I will have to say this is a bit more expensive than I expected. The shrimp, however, are a very generously large size for fried rice. In the rice you'll find peas, carrots, corn, onions and egg. Personally, this rice is much greasier than I'd like, probably because they lightly fry the shrimp before stir frying the rice. There has definitely been changes to this establishment but unlike last year, the reason I will come back is because it's convenient, not because it's catered to my taste. Maybe I'll be back in another year and see how things are. ************** 2018 review: First time here. I will have to agree with another diner that stated the spring rolls were overpriced. These were definitely not the best I've had - the filling is overcooked (which in turn makes it mushy and indistinguishable) and is rather scarce. The thickness of the wrapper being rolled into itself multiple times does not help with the toughness and mushiness of the filling. I got a plate of shrimp rice noodle. This is my go-to at any Chinese takeout establishment. The preparation method is very different from what I normally get at other places but overall, it's not bad. A few more vegetables would be greatly appreciated. Will I be back? Sure. Not because it's convenient but because it's worth another venture. I'll probably skip the springs rolls though read more

First visit. Human chicken was average. The spring rolls were inedible--very doughy with hardly any filling. Szechuan tofu with veggies was inedible. Szechuan food is spicy and sometimes with a hint of sweetness, but this was like syrup. We called and asked if we could bring it back for a refund the next day (we live at a bit of a distance from the restaurant), and we were told unequivocally no. The ambience was nonexistent fir anyone who might choose to eat in. A large part of the very small dining area was used as storage for paper supplies, cleaning supplies, etc. it was a pile of stuff that was at least six feet long and three or four feet wide, as well as a yard high. I always go to China Garden, and have been consistently pleased with the food. I appreciate that they offer brown rice. Always very quick, too. I am vegetarian and always get some tofu dish, but have had no complaints from friends eating meat there, either. I always get to go. Not much ambiance in dining area. Best for take out. read more

I just moved to Flowery Branch today and haven't had a chance to unpack. So I ordered Chinese food from here Through Door dash. It took over an hour to get my food and when I did, there was no Togo silverware and napkins and no sauces for anything. So I called up to ask if that was normal not to include silverware and soy sauce and got the response "it depends who's putting it together." Then I was told they'd get one of their own delivery people to bring me some and they'd call me right back. It's been over and hour and nothing. Way to welcome me to the neighborhood!! We have ordered from China Garden for four years now and love their food - quality is always fresh and tasty. However, they have recently started using door dash without informing the customer of the extra delivery charge - $7.99!!!! Crazy when delivery was free over a certain purchase amount. They charged me $5 for substituting chicken fried rice from egg fried rice, which is also hefty. Our takeout dinner for 3 cost $58 plus I tipped the driver handsomely as I didn't know that they had used door dash, so all in all, a Chinese takeout dinner cost $70 !!! Just passing through town for a wedding at Lake Lanier and stopped here for a quick bite. Not the best customer service but was greeted upon entering. Two ladies (one who took our order and money and another that was sitting in a booth) prepared our food wearing casual dresses, no apron, no hair net, no gloves. This place has mixed reviews for me. The staff is very friendly. The establishment is tiny and a little messy but understand that without much room this place has to keep some things out (i.e. Paper towels, soda packs, etc) this did not bother me at all. The prices were a little high. I paid a little over 20$ for 2 entree's and a side of fried rice. The smell once entering had my mouth watering and ready for some state side style take out. After waiting around 15 minutes my food was ready to take home (you can also dine in). When I got home, my side of fried rice for my daughter was missing (I just gave her mine). The chicken and broccoli was "okay". The flavor was a little flat but the veggies were VERY fresh and crunchy! Cooked perfectly! The General tso chicken was about the same. Nothing special or game changing for me. Sweet, salty but not very spicy. Now for the major disapointment, the fried rice... Flavorless (besides a strange, off taste, maybe from a burnt wok?) and overly oily. I was very off put by this because fried rice is so simple to make. Overall, if I wanted quick Chinese I would come back for a lunch special, but, if I want GOOD Chinese, I think I'd try someplace else. 5/10. read more

1st attempt - 3/10/12 Staying near by at the Hampton, so figured I would give it a shot. While it isn't the absolute best Chinese food I have had, I would go back again,. It is your typical stripmall food joint that consists of very few tables and the same menu you would find anywhere... which is a good thing since I am a creature of habit and always order steamed mixed vegetables with some kind of protein & won ton soup. The one complaint I did have is that the "mix" consisted mostly of broccoli. I like broccoli, but I would have preferred a little more variety. The soup was tasty and the won tons were cooked perfectly. Latest attempt - 3/7/13 Staying at the Hampton again, so I gave it another go. Ordered the steamed shrimp & vegetables. Based on the latest visit, I took one star away. Again, the vegetable mix consisted mostly of broccoli, but the shrimp was disgusting. They were pan fried (what seemed like hours prior) and then put in the steamer to warm. Come on now... how hard is it to put fresh shrimp in a steamer??? We stop here for take out fairly often on our way home from trips to Atlanta. We live about 30 minutes north and our food is still hot when we get home. Everything that we have ordered was very good. I love the sesame chicken and my husband loves the Mongolian beef. We get an order of spring rolls to munch on during the ride home. My only complaints are 1. We would prefer more veggies with our dish and 2. The price for spring rolls is a little high. This is currently our favorite Chinese restaurant. read more

I often eat seafood soup here. Have been for about 11 yrs. Now I know that this not a gourmet restaurant and I don't expect it to be. However, the seafood soup as of late is full of imitation crab with no scallops or muscles. They may have an issue I'm not aware of in acquiring ingredients but this last experience is the last time I'll eat there. It just seems that they're taking the customer for granted. read more
