I forgot to take pictures of the food! My husband decided he wanted this for Father's Day, so we ordered carry out. He ordered garlic chicken with fried rice and potstickers. I ordered sweet-n-sour chicken with steamed rice, steamed veggies, and then we split Crab Rangoon. The food was excellent. My only complaint is the sweet-n-sour sauce is extremely sweet. It's a bit too much, but I just used a lot less than I normally would. I don't think it's enough of a complaint to take off a star because everything else was just so delicious! read more

I like Asian Grill because they will modify ANY dish to your preferences. Don't like spicy or want it spicy, they will change it. Want to sub out or in a different veggie, they will do it. You do have to pay for extras like peanuts or baby corn if you want to add them, but I don't mind. The only dish I didn't care for is the chicken teriyaki, the chicken was too thinly sliced for me. The Chinese mustard is not my favorite, but they have packets of the CM I love for take out orders, so I get it there and bring it in for my egg rolls. Love the pad Thai and Kung Pao chicken. The General Tso is good. They have a good variety of specials for lunch and dinner. The crab Rangoon is delicious. The wait staff is always very nice and accommodating. The restaurant is in a strip "mall" and kept up nicely, no outdated decorations I find in so many Chinese restaurants. read more

Review Visit: October 12th, 2014 A fancy version of your typical Chinese restaurant. Asia Grill offers everything you can find at your typical 'hole in the wall' Chinese Restaurant, but more upscale. Now, that is not to slam either this place or any other Chinese place. It was just nice to eat at a more restaurant-style Chinese place than the quick grab-n-go places that are everywhere. The food was pretty good and will run you about $8-11 a person, which is what I consider fair. The service was nice, portions were generous and the restaurant was really nice. Visited another favorite from my old stomping grounds. I had the Basil Chicken, and really enjoyed it. It was white meat chicken in a brown sauce, loaded with vegetables. I asked them to add some spice, and it was supposed to be "medium" spice - next time I'd kick it up a bit more, but I like heat. Service was fantastic. She had the sesame chicken lunch special with white rice and chicken Egg roll and I had Asian curry chicken with added green pepper and broccoli with white rice and chicken egg roll. Portions were great! Service was awesome. Meal was delicious. My wife really loved the quality of the chicken and sauce in her dish. I loved the sauce and fresh veggies in my dish! It's always good eating at Asia Grill. Hunan beef with black bean sauce, white steamed rice, and crab Rangoon from the lunch menu is what I usually order. The hot and sour soup is amazing. Asia Grill has delicious food and very friendly staff. You get a ton of food for a reasonable price! What my family really likes about AG, is that you can choose to make dishes more or less spicy. For example, I love Mongolian beef but it's listed as a "hot" item on their menu. All I have to do is ask for it to be made not spicy and it comes out perfect every time! I would recommend the vegetable spring rolls, egg drop soup, orange chicken, and Mongolian beef. You should also try the pineapple fried rice! read more

The food here spans everything from Chinese to Japanese to Vietnamese to Thai. It is all freshly prepared. We've never had a bad meal here. The fried rice is NOT to be missed, as it is SO much more authentic than what you get from fast food Chinese places! It should be brown (from soy sauce), not yellow! We placed an on line order on Christmas Eve, we know that places are very busy at this time and really had no issue with waiting, the issue was when we checked in to pick up our order 45 mins after being placed, no one told us that it had not been started and would be at least another 1 1/2 hours. No communication, we would have decided to leave if we knew it was going to be an additional 2 hours for our food. We couldn't just leave, bc we paid for our order already. They tried to tell us they could not issue a refund, and then they finally did, but couldn't produce a receipt for the refund. We still do not have the refund. I called to follow up to speak with a manager and I was spoken to very rudely but the girl answering the call, she continued to speak over me without letting me talk, and then hung up on me after refusing to give me her name. Very poor customer service all around. I will be calling again to speak with the manager, hopefully something gets resolved, but the staff was very comfortable speaking to customers rudely so i am not sure it will be of any benefit. read more

A moat of green curry defended my Thai Curry Chicken and Shrimp but the empty parking lot on a Saturday night tells you what you need to know. The service is incredibly fast but as my date pointed out, our meals arrived suspiciously fast (like maybe they were prepared in advance and warmed up). If there is one thing I can't stand, it's Asian restaurants that put peppers on the menu next to their allegedly spicy food but I don't even need a drink of water when eating. The Thai Curry Chicken and Shrimp was plentiful and had a good mix of veggies but there was very little flavor and certainly no spice. I went here for dinner with two friends based on a recommendation from another friend, and it didn't disappoint! We started out with an order of edamame and two orders of spring rolls. The edamame was amazing (even later when I had the leftovers), and so were the spring rolls. We each ordered a dish and shared them. We ended up with teriyaki chicken, pepper steak, and Thai fried rice. I can't say enough about how good everything was. Nothing was super greasy, and all the meat was extremely tender. There was some confusion with the servers; one took our appetizer order and the other took our food order, which concerned us. But everything came out correctly and the bills were split right the first time! Including drinks and tip, I think we all got out for less than $20 and had enough leftovers for at least one more meal! read more

My lunch order arrived at my table super-quickly. I like that they offer brown rice as an option, and with the lunch specials you can also choose egg roll or rangoon. Their crab rangoon is the sweet variety, with lots of crabby pieces. The restaurant is pretty new, which helps, but I do like the decor. This is our go to place to order Chinese from while at work! I typically get the lunch special which is a great value with very generous portions! My favorite is the shrimp with lobster sauce (I usually get it with the pork fried rice). Lunch special comes with a side and I usually choose the egg roll which is VERY good! Hard to complain about a gift meal, but here's my opinion. Shrimp pad thai was sweet and coconut creamy but lacked seasoning, spice and depth of flavor. Noodles were narrower than I like and had no real chew to them. Shrimps were small but the quantity was reasonable. In their defense, another in our party ate it without complaint, while another has had it in the past and considers it his number 2 choice. One had sesame chicken that seemed to be largely breading with a sprinkle of sesame seeds, but no real sesame flavor. Beef lo mein serving size was generous enough but very little beef. Overall, did not meet my expectations. I think it it's a little higher priced than average for Peoria. read more

This is one of the only places I eat when I'm home in Peoria. Everything is always good. I've never been disappointed in the slightest. I typically come here AT LEAST once every couple weeks. Usually it's a weekly affair, however. They have an online ordering system for takeout that makes it extremely convenient to order and pick your food up in about 15 minutes. There have been a few occasions when it's been a few minutes late, but there was always a clear reason. This place gets packed out with people ordering takeout on a Friday or Saturday night. The staff is always very attentive, and you can tell that they take pride in what they do. I've had quite a few things on the menu and they've all been good. There are the typical combination platters, awesome appetizers like crab rangoons and dumplings, and some really awesome bento box-style dishes as well (I think they're called something else though...grill combo boxes or something like that). However, I'm going to let you in on probably the best kept secret in Peoria: Nabeyaki Udon. Having worked in an Asian fusion restaurant for a summer, I fell head over heels in love with udon. These thick, chewy noodles are good enough to eat on their own. But Asia Grill really kicks it up a notch. These noodles swim amongst a number of fresh veggies, chicken, and even a soft-boiled egg (I'm such a sucker for egg yolks). It's all tied together by the best broth you're going to find anywhere near this city. It's smokey, it's got tons of umami, and, best of all, it doesn't taste like it was poured out of a can! On top of all that, it comes with a goodie bag filled with tempura veggies and shrimp. What else could you ask for?! This destroys any bowl of chicken noodle soup you've ever had, grandmother's secret recipe included. Pro tip: ask for it extra spicy if you: A. Enjoy spicy things like I do, or B. Want to clear out your sinuses. This soup is my go-to when I'm sick. Seriously, stop reading this review and order already. If you're looking for any type of Asian food in Peoria, this is the place to get it. read more

Man, oh man. I hate writing bad reviews, but this place was SO bad, my boyfriend asked me to do so. And I have to say... I agree with him. I ordered Kung Pao chicken and ended up getting chewy chicken and celery (soooooooooo much celery). Yeah. Celery. In my Kung Pao chicken. I also asked for "medium spicy" and my food had no flavor. Well, besides celery. My boyfriend ordered General Tso's chicken and it was super bad. His food was so overcooked he couldn't eat it. It, too, did not have any flavor. We ordered minced chicken lettuce wraps. Eh. I couldn't eat it because the texture was so off-putting. The chicken is not minced - it looks like pate. LOL Pretty gross. Overall, unfortunately, this place was terrible and we will never eat here again and we really, really, really, really advise anyone and everyone not to eat here. This is probably the best quality Chinese food I have yet to eat in Peoria. The Chinese chicken curry was scrumptious and there were lots of fresh veggies on my plate - the food tasted fresh, had all white meat, and was presented very prettily. Hubby had the Szechuan shrimp and said it was delicious. The meat portion was probably enough for two meals, but the accompanying white rice was scant and left me wanting more. We also tried a fried tofu appetizer that was battered in what looked like a tempura batter and had an accompanying soy sauce. This was just okay, and not something we would order again. The inside decor looks nicer in photographs, but the place was certainly very clean and had a more modern vibe. I just expected it to be a nicer sit-down Chinese restaurant but found that it felt more like upscale Chinese take-out. The servers were very friendly and attentive, and pineapple was served at the end of meal to cleanse your palate :) We enjoyed this place a lot but felt it was a little pricey for dinner, especially compared to prices at similar restaurants in Peoria. LOVE this little treasure tucked over on the backside of Junction City! The ingredients are always extremely high quality and totally fresh. They will adjust the spiciness level of anything you order too which is great if you love everything hot, hot, hot! I stopped in for a to-go order for a night in front of the new fall shows and when I got home, I couldn't believe how stuffed the container was! I added a picture because even after I dished out my portion, the container looked completely full. Score for lunch the next day!! I did subtract a star because there didn't seem to be much flavor beyond the heat, I like a combo of a rich and spicy sauce and the rich part was missing. If you read the other reviews, you'll see that it is back and forth on this one. For me it's pretty simple. The food was excellent. The service left you wanting....mostly just slow and/or not present. There were 2 girls working, but they seemed to have trouble flowing between multiple tables. But the food, was excellent! Got the Wonton soup for 2 (which comes with every meat possible in it), Garlic Herb Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork. Each dish was so fresh tasting and the pork was tasty and moist (instead of dried like you normally get). I'm originally from PA, so our Chinese seems to be different there than the average fair you get here. This was the tastiest and freshest I've had. The Wok Inn was the only other one that I've enjoyed in Peoria, but this one was much tastier. So.....I would suggest takeout and call ahead and you can avoid the weakness of this place. I have not eaten at Asia Grill before. However I've heard great things about it. My friend ordered the Mongolian beef and it looked pretty good. I chose to order the cashew chicken. You could choose your type of rice be it brown rice white rice or fried rice. I chose the brown rice. Cashew chicken is my customary choice at a Chinese restaurant. Have to say this was some of the worst cashew chicken. It had a little bit of celery with a few small carrots. What made this so bad was the fact that they breaded the chicken and then fried it. It was heavily fried. I have never had cashew chicken with breaded and fried chicken. I also would like to have had a little more of the vegetables. You could choose from an egg roll or Crab Rangoon. I chose the eggroll. It was OK. I would probably eat here again. However I would definitely steer away from the cashew chicken. read more

This place is awesome. My wife had Spicy Korean Pork. I had Mongolian Beef. I sampled a couple of imported beers and we had Agedashi Tofu for appetizer. Only item we had that wasn't best ever was the fried rice, but once you have tasted my Filipino Aunt's fried rice, all others pale in comparison. The crab Rangoon was sweet and tasty. I also had the curry chicken. It was flavorful, but didn't have the heat I was expecting and hoping for. The portion size was large and enough for me to take home. They were busy, as it was lunch hour and I think our waitress was new.
