I ran into this place by accident. I went across the street to the beauty salon to get my nails…read moredone but the girl was booked. Thank god! I was walking across the street when I saw this place. I thought that it was the same place that used to me on my side of the street, only that they had moved across the street, it turned out that they weren't. At least that's what I was told.
The ambient was very clean and pleasant. The rooms were also clean and the massage table was very comfortable. The girl (Lina) giving me the massage was very nice and friendly.
The massage itself was, hmmm, how can I put it? I guess a bit rough. But my understanding now is that that is the nature of the style. I was told once that you could be sore after a Thai massage. It's not the soft and gentle massage with oils that people think of when they visualize what a massage is like. They do those too, but I wanted the Thai massage. She said that Thai style is a very deep tissue type of massage. No kidding!
I'm a medic and I got injured at work moving patients about 6 months ago. I've been on workers comp since then. I've been under the care of doctors since and I've seen physical therapists, gotten Lint treatments done, acupressure, and taken plenty of meds. Nothing has work like this massage. To be honest it was a bit on the painful side. She really worked it in. But it's the type of pain that also feels good at the same time. It's hard to explain. None the less, my lower back pain is almost gone. Like we say in the medical field, from a scale of one to ten, my pain went from a 6 down to a 1. My upper back, where I get deep tissue muscle spams, when from also a 6 or 7 to a 2. I'm not BSing you, I'm dead serious. That was yesterday and today I still feel just as good. I only wonder how long it will last?
I'm a huge believer in deep tissue Thai Massage now. Like insaid beforeI only had it done yesterday, but I'm already thinking about going back. I have the money but can't be spending money like this. Which brings me to another thing, prices.
They charge 90 bucks for 90 minutes, 60 for and hour, and 45 for half an hour.
Since they just opened, they have a special going on. I can't remember how much the 90 minutes, I think that it was 80 bucks. The hour was 50 bucks (what I got), and the 1/2 hour 40 bucks. I think that I've seen cheaper elsewhere. But don't quote me on that, I'm new at getting massages. I don't mind paying 50 bucks again. If the 90 minutes was cheaper, like 70 bucks, I would rather get that one.
All I can say is that I I can't wait to go see Lina again. I think that another two or three of those massages and I'll be ready to go back to work. I assume and hope!
It's amazing how a bunch of dumb nuts (doctors) with all their medical training could do what Lina did in one hour. But it shouldn't surprise me. I'm a medic and I see the bull that doctors do, say, and give to their patients all the time. There's something very wrong with our health care system that needs to be fixed right away. I will dare to point my fingers to the pharmaceutical companies and their huge "donations" to medical schools. Like a doctor admired to me one "medical school does not teach you to cure anything. They train you to diagnose the condition, give meds, and if the meds cure the condition great! If not, then keep giving them meds." Sad but true!
Please understand that this was my own personal experience with Thai massage and my injury. It seems to have worked for me and I'm not saying that it will work in every case or condition.
