DO NOT COME HERE!!! I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was by far the worst massage experience I've ever had. The older woman who gave my massage was extremely rude from the beginning. She repeatedly scolded me to "relax," even after I calmly explained that I was relaxed. At one point, she was using her elbow to push my left shoulder down because she assumed I wasn't relaxing enough. It was uncomfortable and completely unprofessional. When she began working on my calves, she was putting so much of her body weight on them that it became painful. I told her it hurt, expecting her to adjust the pressure. Instead, she simply stopped massaging that area altogether rather than trying a lighter technique. To make matters worse, for about 10 minutes it felt like she was just rubbing oil across my back with almost no actual massage. I've had many professional massages over the years, and this didn't feel therapeutic at all. I actually came back because I had a wonderful experience here about three years ago, so this was incredibly disappointing. I had booked a 90-minute massage but ended the session early because I couldn't tolerate another hour of being scolded to relax. I asked the front desk to stop the session and she kindly shared that I didn't have to pay for 30 min I was there because she visibly saw me upset. For context, I lift weights regularly, so some muscle tightness is normal. Tight muscles do not mean someone isn't relaxed. Being repeatedly lectured instead of listened to made the entire experience stressful rather than relaxing. The woman at the front desk was kind and understanding when I explained why I was ending my appointment, and I appreciated her professionalism. Unfortunately, because of the massage therapist's behavior, I cannot recommend this place. I called the place to see if they had a spot at 5pm and thankfully they did. I tried booking online but it was kind of confusing so I just called directly. This place is also in classpass. During my call I said I wanted the 75 min massage but when I went, the masseuse stopped after an hour. Place is very clean, very serene as well. I came in and they had me fill out the form about any medical history I have and if I want to focus on specific parts of my body-- I circled on my shoulders, back, and lower legs. The masseuse walked me in the room at exactly 5pm, changing and then lay on the massage table. My masseuse asked me if I wanted it soft, medium, firm and I usually go for at least medium. She said okay but she also notified me that if it's either too soft or too firm for me to just let her know which I thought was so nice and considerate at least. She started with my neck and then pressing her elbows towards some pressure points on the back but idk it felt like she does one thing on one side but doesn't equally do it on the other side or if not, it's quicker on one side. The massage involves stepping on your back, legs, and arms and at one point I had to tell her to go light on my back cause I was afraid of her stepping on my spine. She was apologetic and went softer but I'm not sure if stepping on the spine felt relaxing to me. I was just panicking just cause I don't know where she's going to step next. They do have bars on top of them for the masseuse to hold on too but the pressure i feel is all on where they're stepping. I liked when she used her hand and her elbows on the back but not a big fan of the steps. They also used hot stones as well to rub on your back and that felt really nice. Other than that, I would say my massage was 50/50. Not sure if I would go back knowing what type of massage they do now now. Came here twice already and love the service! I usually message the day of and book with whoever is available and they so far have not turned me away for day of booking. For my first time I did the combo 120 min (totally recommend) and I booked with Paula. She was very communicative though out the massage which I appreciate. Usually I like my massages soft-medium. I can't handle hard pressure but I'm too timid to speak up and would just lay there taking the pain in. But Paula would check on how I'm doing and always adjusted the pressure to suit me. When she hits a sensitive area like arm pit and knows I'm in pain she would reassure me "trust me" "breathe" and just talk me through the painful part. My second time I booked 90 min traditional massage with Mona. I just got a tattoo a week ago hence I requested no oil and for the masseuse to avoid my tattoos. Mona was super accommodating. I was expecting her to completely avoid my tattoo area (shoulder and arm) but she worked on it using the skin near and positioning me in a certain way so it still felt like a full body massage. She peeled by the blanket exposing my tattoo area to make sure she avoids it and when she is near the area she assures me she is avoiding the tattoo. And Wow Mona is stronggg! She noticed I was in pain when she stood on me and decided on switch to her hands without even me requesting (and which I really appreciate). I am excited to be back and to book another masseuse! I'm really disappointed with the massage I received today. I was scheduled with Nikki, and unfortunately, it did not feel like a proper massage at all. Most of the time it felt like she was just lightly rubbing her hands over my body rather than applying any real pressure or technique. It honestly seemed like she either didn't know what she was doing, wasn't trained well, or simply wasn't putting in the effort, almost as if she was hoping I'd fall asleep and not notice. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that while working on my back, she tried to squeeze a small cyst I have. That was completely inappropriate and unexpected. I have never had a massage therapist touch or attempt to squeeze a cyst before, and it made me very uncomfortable. I went in hoping to relax and relieve tension, but I left feeling frustrated and uneasy instead. I've had many massages before, and this was by far one of the worst experiences. They had me fill out specifically what I was looking for, but most of the session was spent on my legs and arms and stepping on my spine. I didn't really get the back work I requested. For the first 20 minutes she was only stepping on me which is not typical for a deep tissue massage and I had to ask if she could start the actual massage. Feels like a waste of time and money. I'm in more pain now than I was when I walked in. I couldn't enjoy it because she kept stepping on my spine and in all the wrong places to the point I was worried for her next move. First impression was great, though I was a bit confused to see 2 separate massage places in the same complex. I really want to give this place five stars, but I always end up with an unpleasant interaction or experience every time I come here. They want a card on file to charge you for no-show, but when you get there, they encourage you to pay the masseuse directly via Zelle or Venmo. Another time, I came here suffering from a very painful migraine. And the masseuse massaged my head with strong pressure behind my ears that it contibuted to my first episode of occipital neuralgia and I had to be rushed to ER. I called them to inform them about the incident and more as a warning that they need to be gentle with migraine patients. The person who answered the phone was very defensive - she validated my appointment information multiple times, as if implying that my complaint had no basis. I told her I am not after any compensation, I just wanted to let them know about what happened to me. In the end, they said I should state my preference before and during the massage -- well I did, but the pressure was done. There was another incident where I asked for stretching and combo massage. What I got was back walking! I am a petite woman and I thought I was gonna die from the weight and the pain on my back. The strip mall where the two massage shops are located also have a transient right outside the door. It gets a little scary, especially at night. I give it two stars because it is clean inside and they have a relaxing atmosphere. It's very hard to find a good massage place. Their rates are also reasonable, but they do ask for a humongous tip on their signages by the reception desk. Of course, the customer ultimately decides the tip amount. I came here for a massage hoping to relax, but the experience started off with anxiety the moment I saw a sign at the entrance when I checked in that says: "Our suggested tip is $20-$30 for a $60 massage and $25-$35 for a $75 massage." Let that sink in -- they're suggesting up to a 50% tip for a $60 service. That's not a gentle suggestion -- that's pressure, and it immediately changed the energy of the visit. I hadn't even been greeted yet, and I already felt uncomfortable and judged. Yes, tipping is part of the industry. And yes, I always tip for good service. But tips should reflect the quality of the experience -- not be expected upfront at rates that are way above the norm. It felt manipulative and honestly took away from the whole reason I was there: to feel at ease. The massage was decent, but I couldn't enjoy it fully because I was too aware of the awkwardness created before it even started. If the business believes their staff deserves more, then pay them fairly -- don't guilt customers with a sign demanding tips that are almost as high as the service itself. At times, it felt like a pinching type of massage, which was uncomfortable. It didn't feel like a proper massage at all. I still had about 30 minutes left but asked to end it early because I didn't like the experience. I still paid, no problem, but I think they really need to check whether their therapists are properly trained. I also felt like I was being blamed for not saying anything earlier, even though I did ask her to increase the pressure. Someone (maybe the manager) told me afterward that I should've said something within the first 15 minutes if it wasn't good, they will change the therapist-but nobody mentioned that beforehand, and it's not stated anywhere in their policy or website. I wasn't trying to cause any trouble; I just wanted to explain why I didn't enjoy the service. But instead, I felt like I was treated as if I was the problem. This is actually my third bad experience here. I've had good ones before, too, but unfortunately, this will be my last visit. I have refrained from reporting abuse in the past out of respect for Rafaole Organic Massage. You can see in my previous review why I admire this place and have so much respect for it. I feel forced to report now publicly my experience with Khailee, an attractive masseuse a few weeks ago. Khailee was very rude and cruel upon entering massage room criticizing me for laying under the sheet instead of over it. A previous masseuse at Rafaole had scolded me for my hand position. They both wanted my hand in a position that was uncomfortable. I now understand that they are intentionally rude to test the clients response. If some one doesn't get upset upon being treated abusively, they then take advantage and exploit that person. I thought it strange that Khailee stressed I place my wallet in a box at a high position next to her, instead of where I usually place my wallet: on the floor right below my head so I am keeping an eye on it. Khailee covered my head with a towel. This restricts access to air. The only purpose that towel served covering my head was blocking me from seeing Khailee reaching for my wallet that she wanted up on a table right next to her. About $200 was missing from my wallet when I checked it at the end of the massage. read more

First of all, they messed up my appointment and gave me a 60-minute massage instead of the 75 minutes I booked. Secondly, I accidentally lifted my head during the session and saw the massage therapist watching a show or drama on her phone, completely unprofessional. No wonder she stayed on the same spot on my shoulder for over 10 minutes. The back massage was also sloppy, she kept pulling my hair and pressing down harshly with her elbows.
