I would have given 5 stars, but, the food took almost an hour to come out of the kitchen....which is hard to blame them for, as there is NO staff anywhere, anymore ! The taste, and presentation, and portions of the food were very good. We shared , Wonton Soup, with the Dinner for 4 people. Lots of food. Very tasty. They will never have the Buffet again. My friend and I stopped by Vernon after a long day at work and we happened to stop by at this restaurant. This family owned business was one of the best inviting restaurants we've been to, we can tell it's treated with lots of love and care! The food wasn't greasy, and they have best bean sprouts and wonton. The service was great and I found the waiters inviting and nice, but specifically one them I found cute and endearing. We were staying in Vernon and passed this place coming into town. After a huge bike day, I was craving Chinese food and this place surprised and surpassed all expectations. Very kind and attentive staff. Food came out fast and was piping hot. Deep fried was delicious but not overly greasy. Large portion sizes. Very very good and would come again and highly recommend. Had spring rolls, salt and pepper squid and had two different combo dishes that we shared. With extra to go!! Well worth the value and very clean restaurant. read more

Great place to eat! Two tour buses full of people who appear to be of Asian decent filled the place about 20 minutes after we arrived. Must be good & authentic! As you walk into the restaurant, on your left-hand side is a giant Jade boat. This thing must be 3 feet tall and maybe 4 feet long! IMPRESSIVE! On the right-hand side, opposite the jade boat, there's a fish tank full of Koi that have got to be a foot long each! Also impressive looking. Further into the restaurant on the left is the buffet with four buffet tables. Three tables are filled with salads and various Chinese & Chinese-American foods. On the fourth table is the dessert! Straight ahead as you walk in, is a bar filled with a variety of liquors and wines. The service is mediocre but luckily I'm here for the food! Very little eye contact and the smiles seem somewhat forced. Perhaps the family should let this gal go follow her dreams instead of being stuck in a family restaurant or she needs a raise. My water glass got empty twice before we asked for a pitcher. These folks delivered a full pitcher of water without hesitation so that's a big plus. The food was good, hot and seemed fresh. The bathrooms are new looking and have nice tiling except the men's sink on the right never "motion activated" on, but sometimes automatic doors don't open for me either. If there was a 3.5 stars that's probably more accurate. Coming from Vancouver we were spoiled with great Chinese. This is some of the best you will find in Vernon. Most of the usual suspects will be there, Fresh and edible. The food is tasty without being too saucy, its food made to eat not photograph. You will not boast or blather on about your meal to friends but you will be satisfied and probably order it again. They are smart enough to separate the saucy dishes in their take out into two containers. One with the core ingredients, the other the sauce or soup which you can blend at home. read more

Good spot, I didnt order the buffet as it was ending for the day but it appeared to have a good selection of the usual chinese buffet items. Ordered a combination meal of fried rice, chicken chow mein and beef/broccoli/vegetables. It was served steaming hot and had good taste. Nothing out of the ordinary but satisfying quality. I noticed they had corn kernels as well as lentels in the fried rice which I found very odd but I would definately go back. read more

The owner is very unpleasant to deal with, just rude and not a good people person. She stands at the front desk and is rude to her employees and only smiles when you pay. The food made me very sick I was puking all night. The kitchen from what I could see looked to be dirty and unsanitary. Dining alone, I figured a buffet place was the answer, sit-down but casual. The décor is really nice - modern, with a lovely mural of the Great Wall of China to give it an Asian ambiance. The buffet has a great selection of fairly generic Chinese dishes. The food wasn't as hot & fresh as it should be , even though the tables were all occupied. There's a dessert buffet as well, with a selection of cakes, fruit & jello. I'm very sure I didn't eat $16.95 worth of food but for large eaters it would be a bargain. Good place for all generations. On the whole, it's a great place for a quick Chinese dinner. You can order from the menu as well, which would likely offer more diverse menu items. read more
