Stopped in for dinner recently since it had been a while since our last visit. The restaurant is located in a busy downtown area, so parking can sometimes be a bit tricky--something to keep in mind if you're planning to come during peak hours. We were seated quickly and served waters right away. My husband ordered the fish and chips, while I went with the jalapeño chicken sandwich. The sandwich came with a grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese, crispy fried onions, and jalapeño dressing on grilled ciabatta bread. I also upgraded my fries to their Bleu fries (topped with bleu cheese crumbles and bleu cheese dressing). The fries were definitely a highlight--served hot, crispy, and perfectly paired with the bleu cheese. My husband was really impressed with the fish and chips, which he hadn't tried here before. The fish was beer-battered and fried, served with fries and coleslaw. He especially liked the coleslaw, noting that it tasted fresh with great flavor and wasn't overly coated in mayo. Love LBC! The food and service are great, prices are fair, and drinks are strong. Tonight we ordered the deep fried jalapeño Mac & cheese, 5 napkin burger, wings with buffalo and mango habanero sauces on the side, and bread pudding for desert. All of it was delicious but the bread pudding is always my favorite part of coming here. It's heaven. Friday night dinner with the fam. Lodi beer is one of those restaurants that we frequent, thanks to its menu variety. I always enjoy the industrial ambiance of this elegant beer distillery. We were promptly sat in a booth. I ordered the chicken fettuccine and paired it with one of their light beers. My wife opted for the cattlemen's wrap and our son had the 5 Napkin Burger (really juicy) with a red craft beer. Our entrees came out pretty quick. Everything was made to our expectations. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Just had to wait a few minutes for them to clear a table and the four of us were seated. Got the cheese loaf and mango habanero wings appetizers to share. My friends also got beer and cocktails that they enjoyed. The cheese loaf was crazy good. Cheezy with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread was perfect, crispy on the outside but not super hard and so soft and fluffy on the inside. The wings were also good the sauce wasn't too spicy and they still had a little crisp to them. Pretty much every table was full and it had a good atmosphere. It came out to under $60 before tip. Would definitely come back for the cheese loaf and to try other things on the menu. read more

Make sure you don't customize things on the meal you order. They will make you feel VERY uncomfortable and tell you that it is too much for them to do. (we are talking changing regular onions to onion strings and bbq sauce instead of buffalo type of things) To be honest I was a bit confused at first especially with the way the waitress came back (after we ordered) and delivered that news to us. It wasn't like I ordered a burger and wanted it to magically be a steak when it showed up. My response was, why wouldn't I order something the way I like it and certainly why would I go somewhere if I'm forced to order it the way that is "easier" for them to make. I told her that we wouldn't be back if that is the case and her response was to "ENJOY YOUR LAST MEAL THEN" to say the least we left and cancelled everything. Last Friday night we had the opportunity to enjoy a meeting, libation, and meal at Lodi Beer. Here are my thoughts... I am not a "beer person" since have a few too many in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1976, getting on the wrong train and ending up out in the country, in January without a proper overcoat. But that is a story for another time. When I arrived at the place, I found the staff to be exceptionally perceptive and helpful. Fortunately they have a full bar so I was able to find something to my liking (rum and Coke tall) which went down well after the hot day we all had. I ordered a Cajun burger with a side salad. Both were scrumptious, and delivered in a reasonable amount of time. I noticed that the staff did not offer waters which would have been good, since I said it was hot that day. The ambiance as appropriately beer house, so it was a bit noisy for a meeting. I quickly learned that the secret was to vote "yes" on all motions, take a sip and keep smiling. Glad I wasn't the secretary trying to take down minutes. I can't speak to the quality of the brew, not having tried it (it appeared that at least some of which was brewed on site) but if the second and third pints my fellow diners were ordering was any indication, it was great. I am thinking seriously of returning with my wife (a bit of a drive from Modesto) but, the burger was that good, and I had lust in my heart for the onion rings I saw... read more

Decided to order for pick up and let's just say standards were definitely not met as if you are sitting in the restaurant. I ordered the ahi bowl and for $27 disappointed. Where was the cabbage? The cilantro? Too much rice and as a peacatarian the ahi tasted funny so was unable to finish. Nine of us on a road trip, stopped here for lunch on recommendation of a friend. We loved the restaurant and the decor. Savannah was our very efficient and nice waitress. First impressions, we were the 2nd couple that walked in the door, both parties were greeted by the staff, they were first to seat and then us. The waitress appointed a booth to us, but we prefer a table and chairs, so the waitress gave us what we asked for. They were very good, but I will hunt down what they use for the fries, there good and different then most, well then im use to. The sandwich however, was just down right soo damn gooood! The meat was easy to tare right off the sandwich, not like you bite a piece of meat and take it all out in one bite, no not here, so super tender! The sauce was really good, so good my wife wanted to wear some, lol.. OK not really but it was messy so eat prepared. My review wont be based around food since my pals and I were bar hopping around town lol Ok after having multiple drinks, we stumbled (not literally) upon this place. Upon arrival, it was a slight wait but nothing too long. We got seated but we all wanted dessert. I got the bread pudding and my my, was it delicious. The sauce it came with was not overly sweet, and the bread itself was nice and warm. It had more of a texture of a biscuit but I didn't mind. Came here on a Friday night and the experience was pretty mixed. Right from the start, the hostesses were noticeably rude when we arrived, which set the tone for the evening. For how busy it was, the wait to be seated took longer than expected, and we were eventually placed in the back banquet room, which didn't have the same energy or comfort as the main dining area. I ordered the LBC Burger, and it came out pink as heck--much more underdone than I prefer. The fries were super crispy but tasted more like batter than potato, which wasn't my favorite. The fettuccini with shrimp barely had any sauce, leaving the dish with almost no flavor. The steak was actually the highlight--it was cooked right and tasted good--but even then, it still left a bit more to be desired considering everything else. For a meal that came to around $100 plus tip for three people, I expected better consistency and customer service. There's definitely potential here, but improvements in hospitality and food quality would make a big difference. read more

It's been quite a while since I've been back here, and it was great as usual. Their chili is delightful & flavorful! The blue cheese fries were good--but all of the blue cheese sauce was at the bottom, which made it hard to get to once you realized it was there. All of the bottom fries got super soggy (which I actually love, but my boyfriend did not, haha). Overall, another good experience for me. The staff are always really sweet & attentive. It was my first time at Lodi Beer Co. I LOVED the decor. All the iron work was amazing! (Just watch your legs under the tables there's metal and I saw a few people hit their knee, including myself, on it) The staff only had a few tables each so it really helped them focus on the tables they had. The food was AMAZING!!!!! The garlic fries had just enough garlic, not too much. They were so crunchy! The burgers could use more sauce, but that's just because the patties are so thick. Came in today at around 12:30 in the afternoon time there was 5 of us in our group. The staff are so nice and made sure we were very taken care of. I got the ahi tuna poke app with extra sauce and extra chips and I got a large hard cider of two rivers. The food was so good it melted in your mouth, that truthfully is my favorite thing they have on the menu, I always come back for it because it's so fresh and taste so great and the sauce tastes so good that you could easily drink it. . The salmon dishes here never miss! I came on an afternoon this week. The veggies on the salad were fresh and crisp and the salmon and veggies were seasoned perfectly. We have been to this spot before and had a good experience but the food was lacking this time. My son and husband had the skirt steak in their meals and it was so fatty it was not edible. It seems like they bought the cheapest beef they could find. The mahi mahi special was really good. The service was great. The dining area is really noisy so it was hard to visit with the group. Good first experience at Lodi Beer Co! My date made reservations for us on a Sunday at 3 PM. I arrived after my date, but as soon as I got there we were seated immediately. I didn't notice a lot of people waiting and the restaurant wasn't completely packed. It is a nice sized restaurant with high top tables, booths, and traditional seating. It didn't take long for our server to introduce himself and give us our menus. They offer burgers, steaks, salads, sandwiches, beer, and wine. They also sell growlers to go! I ordered the Bleu Burger with fries and my date ordered the NY Strip and swapped the mashed potatoes for fries. Food didn't take long to come out and we both really enjoyed our meals. Bacon on my burger was crispy, meat was cooked to my liking (med rare) and the fries were delicious too! One thing we were impressed with was the house made garlic butter.. so flavorful! We also ordered alcoholic beverages he had 3 different beers and I had 2 mixed drinks- both margaritas, unfortunately I don't remember the names, but I did enjoy both of them. I hate doing this... First off our service was great we sat at the bar and was helped by super attentive and friendly staff. Mainly it was the food and atmosphere, I get being a bar and being rowdy but this was a Thursday at 7:30 and having some drunk dude yell about being from the class of 89 over and over again was alot. I know the staff can only do so much but continuing to pour him beer wasn't it. We ordered food and it came fast but was mediocre at best. I ended up sending back one of my dishes which I hate and the other we ate just because we were hungry. This was our first visit to Lodi Beer Co. We were immediately greeted by two friendly and courteous hosts. We were told there was going to be a 15 min wait for a booth but were able to grab cocktails at the bar while we wait. Yes please and thank you! I was impressed with their waitlist. I immediately received a text where I was updated on our wait time and could see us on the list as it updated. Very cool! There seemed to be a bit of confusion behind the bar. Though each of the four persons behind the bar looked at us, nobody immediately greeted us except for another customer. We were eventually greeted by the bartender and revived our drinks. Our table was ready shortly after receiving our drinks. Our server was friendly and courteous. We ordered wings as an appetizer. For dinner, we ordered the fish n chips with sweet potato fries and French Dip with regular fries. The fish n chips was a 4 out of 5 stars. The French dip was 3 out of 5. French Dip is usually my go-to at most places. This just fell flat for me. The bread wasn't toasted or grilled as has been my experience at other restaurants. Both order of fries were great. For dessert we had the cheesecake. Man, this was so creamy with the right amount of thickness. Our server did check on us throughout our visit. I would've given 4 stars but it's a total pet peeve to sit with dirty dishes on the table, especially when the server walks away from the table with empty hands. C'mon, clear the plates. 5 stars would've been greeted at the bar earlier, don't ignore a customer even if not by the actual bartender. You're behind the bar - acknowledge the customer. Lodi Beer Co. is a solid choice for dining in Downtown Lodi. I've been here quite a few times and have always enjoyed my meals. Delicious items: deep friend brussel sprouts, garlic fries, chicken wrap, and the fish tacos (my favorite)! Beer and cocktails are delicious and really great atmosphere. I will note that this place can become very loud inside. So if you're searching for something quiet, this might not be the best option. They have a couple spaces outdoors to sit as well. read more
