This particular buffet has changed owners at least three times that I am aware of. One of the most unusual aspects of it is that it has a two-level buffet: a basic one and a "special buffet" that includes a few extra items such as seafood and crab legs at extra cost. I don't know how the staff can distinguish between basic buffet and special buffet customers, but that's their problem. The food quality here is hit and miss. If you get it fresh it's at least as good as any other Chinese buffet in town but frequently there will be some items on the steam table that from the taste and texture seem to have been reheated leftovers. The service is as good as any other Chinese buffet in town and above complaint. The staff seems a little more friendly here than at the other Chinese buffets in Lincoln. I love Mongolian grill but the grill here, unlike those at other Chinese restaurants and buffets, does not let the customer have access to the sauce to season his/her food. You get it seasoned the way the cook wants to season it and if you want some heat, you have to be creative. Under the former owners the Sunday brunch buffet featured steamship round of roast beef and ham. The grill also had New York strip steaks cooked to to order. I thought that was a nice change of pace and would love to see the new owners reinstate this practice. At present time there are three Chinese buffets in Lincoln, and if I had to rank them in order this would be in third place. Good food: fresh ingredients that are served at proper temperatures and constant monitoring of the entire buffet area is done here...so your plate runneth over! Cleanliness: Servers would immediately bus emptied tables and remove soiled dishware with courtesy. Cleaning the floors after messy toddlers had left their mark with patience and thoroughness. A wonderful mix of young, well-aged, working folks, families and couples could be seen dining and the hum of conversation hangs in the air like the aromas of the many varied dishes that can be enjoyed. The waiters are decent, but the chef's schedule is HORRIBLE. If you go there for crawfish, NEVER GO ON THE WEEKEND. The cooks only bring out small amounts of crawfish every so often and people run to the crawfish like it's their last meal. It would be better if there was a large portion of crawfish being constantly served so everyone would have as much crawfish as they want to eat whenever they want to. It's basically impossible to eat all the crawfish you want at an all you can eat buffet. The basic foods are good for what you expect from a Chinese buffet (lo mein, broccoli chicken, etc.). It was ok but definitely not worth the 40 min drive. You don't get to choose where to sit, I asked to sit in the corner and was completely ignored. Some of the food was either stale or hard. The prices are decent we paid around $8 per adult for lunch. Usually sushi at a buffet tends to taste like sushi you would buy at a grocery store or gas station but theirs was pretty good. read more

Pretty decent place. Nice location in the shopping center. I just moved to Lincoln and love food. So when I saw the billboard on my way to Sams Club I decided to take a detour. There's a good variety of food as well. For me, the overall taste of the food is good but I've had better. I've traveled and lived in a few places: Detroit, Columbia (SC), Richmond, San Diego, and recently moved from the Boston area. I like to think I have a well rounded palette. But I'm assuming this is great food for Lincoln, NE. I probably would return. read more

I've gone here a grand total of two times. The first time I went I had a relatively good experience. The food was all right and the service wasn't bad. So the other day I decided to go back. The person who sat me wasn't friendly at all. They got me my water and then neglected to give me a refill until after about 20-30 minutes of waiting and me having to go to the front and ask for another one. And THEN they had the nerve to be rude to me when I did ask because they were eating behind the counter. I'm giving this one star because I can't give it a 0. Horrible horrible service. Gross - saw worker there scooped the food that was spilled on counter back. Food is dry/over cooked and sometimes you can taste slightly rotten taste from seafood. Shrimps all have the "poop bag" in them. read more

The asian buffet on 27th is not good at all! Came here with one of my clients and I had heard good things about it. I had already planned on eating so I ate. First thing I got was the sweet & sour chicken and it was dry and had no taste. Then I got sesame chicken, which is my favorite, it was dry and fatty as well. Not very good taste. Tasted old. Crab ragoons are easily my favorite appetizer at any asian/mongolian place. The crab ragoons tasted awful and they were cold. I would not recommend this place to anyone that lives or comes to Lincoln every now and then. There are many other asian buffets in town that are much better than this buffet. read more

What a great offering for Asian food in the north Lincoln area. The food is very fresh with many choices. They offer sushi, Mongolian grill, and even noodle soup as well as all the usual Asian/American dishes from which to choose. The steam tables are refreshed very often and the restaurant is nice and clean. We look forward to eating there every weekend. Went here for Father's Day. The wait was long but I believe they were running a seafood/crab leg special for that occasion so that was to be expected. We wasted some time at the new hyvee and that worked out well. We were seated and then very loudly this obnoxious music came over the speakers, its apparently a happy birthday type thing which they proceeded to play 3 other times during our dining experience. It was so loud you had to stop your convo until it was over. They may need to look into turning that down a bit. So the food... I am not exaggerating that there were only 3 count em 3 Chinese entree dishes to choose from. I wasn't in the mood for crab legs so this left me very limited. It was general Tso chicken, a pork dish and a beef dish. That was all!! Besides those it was egg rolls, crab Rangoon, weird fish type dishes that I couldn't make fin or tails of. I just felt so limited in my choices. I did enjoy the crab Rangoon bc they were tiny half dollar size so it was fun to just pop em in your mouth. They did have sushi which looked fine, tasted ok, as most buffet sushi somehow is just a lesser quality then when you order your own rolls at a place dedicated to the art. No ice cream machine, instead they provide a cooler to scoop out of, with all the kiddos around it kinda grossed me out because they would pull their arm out of there with ice cream on the sides and lick it off, what if they went back for seconds?!Licked arm would touch the ice cream. I'm not usually weird about stuff like that but having a communal self scoop ice cream station just doesn't seem right. read more

I've been to this restaurant several times. I honestly love it, they have great food. After 3:30 you can pay to upgrade your meal and get crab legs, crayfish and some other seafood options. But they offer different fish and seafood options during the dinner hour without the upgrade. The coconut shrimp is awesome!! They also allow take out by the pound. They also have sushi and a Mongolian grill. It's clean, the food is hot and affordable. Can't beat it. read more

Loved the food and massive selection I'm used to in California but here crawdads and frog legs are a rarity, even the chicken wings were amazing, not the usual fatty Buffalo wings but big meaty wings. Every buffet I've been to if they're serving crab it costs more and everyone pays the same price, their system of charging more for only those who want crab and basically spying on everyone to make sure the non-crab customers are not helping themselves to crab is ridiculous. Only one in our party of 4 had crab and the server charged us for "2 seafood" so after a brief interrogation convinced her to charge us for "1 seafood". The entrance area is a disaster. Those trying to check in for a table run into the line of people trying to pay and leave, this all happens in a very small space and on a busy weekend it's horrendous. How these areas are not separated is stupefying, have never seen this before. read more

Asian Buffet is a quality replacement for the previous over-extended establishment. The new proprietor, Simon, along with his staff members, are both friendly and generally attentive. The decor looks refreshing after the remodel, with two attractive main stations, a sea food section, grill, sushi bar and premium ice cream freezer. Stop in for lunch or dinner at least once a week if you can. The food overall is a cut above the other Chinese buffets in terms of balanced variety, with frequent food line replenishment. my s/o and i went for lunch there a few weeks ago it was not to busy i say maybe 5 people were already there...food was good very good selection about 15 min in to our lunch our bill had already came i was like wow really i turned to my s/o and told him are they really trying to rush us out we went and got our sec plate then jus felt like they kept staring at us wanting us to pay and leave so as we were deciding to pay with cash or card a server came over and was like ok card so he took it payed and brang us our copy...we then went back had our 5 r old daughter with us this time again as soon as we got in we got the bill i was thinking to my self is this normal i wont go there again being rushed like that is not cool... read more
