    The fish pond

This place is a NO GO! First of all, the food was cold and nasty. The review that said the salad bar was warmer than the food is correct. The food is glorified frozen aisle food heated up. I say "heated" but that would be generous considering my sweet and sour chicken was an ice cube personified. Service was okay, nothing was above and beyond. Horrid selection only like 1/2 rows of actual buffet. Hibachi was a glorified joke. Building/ ambiance was lack luster. I can feel myself getting nauseated as I type. Oh yeah, and their poor koi fish are living in a very sad, two inch pond with a broken filter. Makes me very sad and not want I want see when I enter. 0/10 I wouldn't bring my worst enemy here. Skip out and go to Panda Express, food is warmer and better and they are not abusing fish. Next.

An average buffet restaurant. Spacious and clean. Plastic plates piled high in a cart. Food is ok. The lightly fried shrimps with mayo and beef with onion are decent. The crabs are watery and salty. Today (December 22) is the beginning of winter 立冬 or 入冬 on lunar calendar. People in the northern part of China that's incl Beijing, usually to have dumplings . So I've to try theirs: The filling is surprisingly good but the skin/wrapper is machine made, very thin and lifeless.

I must've come on a good day -- Sunday -- because coming on a Thursday night made me reverse my 5 star review. If you want fresh food, come Sunday where there are lots of folks and fresh food but do not go any other day because the food was stale and bland. It was hard to swallow and the sushi was old as in spoiled. Tampa does not know how to do buffets unfortunately.

Haven't been here in awhile and we were all pleasantly surprised at the improvements! All of the food was delicious and hot! There was a good variety and they were continuously cooking more. Most of the tables were filled with customers unlike the times we came in the past. The service was impeccable and our drinks were kept topped off!

Food smashed into the dirty carpet, menus smeared with grease, slimy handprints on every glass and plastic surface. Is the place cleaned by toddlers?! If the missed health standards aren't enough to deter people (wish I'd read those beforehand), the layers of grime should be a red flag. If that's what customers are seeing, imagine the kitchen. Also, the food was bad. Like everything. Grisly gnarled chicken, inedible, dry cornbread, and nasty mac and cheese. I didn't try anything else because it was so gross. My family members also hated their food. Staff waited until the last minute to refill things as it seemed like someone is opting to cut some sharp corners. Again, I felt bad for everyone working there. It seemed busy enough to turn a profit, yet there was something depressing about the vibe. I came here last year with my dad, and it wasn't like this, so it was disappointing. We were relieved to get out for under $100, but it was just nightmare fuel. Not worth it. Owners need to be more involved in operations here.

It's a great place to share a meal with family & friends. It was very comforting! We were greeted immediately by Dilara. She was so friendly and helpful throughout the visit. She even gave me a great suggestion on choice of drinks. The Milkis Banana Soda was the perfect fit for me. The restaurant started to get very busy at lunch time, and none of it phased her. She handled it like a pro. We started with the Corn Cheese appetizer. I would have never tried it if my friend had not mentioned it the day before. It was such a great shareable dish. It's delivered all bubbly on a hot plate. It looks almost like Mexican street corn, but it has a totally different flavor profile. It was almost sweet enough to be a dessert. I love that sweet cheese topping! It was a cold day, so we decided to get soup. I went with the Galbitang, and my friend selected the Soft Tofu Stew. It also came out bubbling hot, and served in its own cast iron pot. A very hot pot, so don't touch it. Lol! The rib meat was plentiful. There was a large rib bone in my soup. The meat was so tender, and fell right off the bone. The broth was meaty and full of flavor. There wasn't a whole lot of glass noodles, so I suggest you add the meat dumplings for an extra $5. Otherwise, just add the rice that comes with it. It was perfect with the rice. The banchan sides were also very tasty. I was surprised that the kimchi wasn't overly spicy. I really loved all the different flavors. What's even better is that they don't rely on salt to make it tasty. All the natural flavors of the rich rib meat shined through in the broth. It was a meal to be savored slowly as the broth started cooling off from the hot temperature. You can actually carry on a conversation while enjoying it, and not worry about your soup getting cold. Again, it was a very comfortable & enjoyable experience! We wanted to try the Korean Hotteok for dessert. Unfortunately, they didn't have any that day. I definitely want to go back and try that. I'm also very interested in trying their vegetable ramyun & gimbap lunch combo. There was a Bulgogi Wrap special that also looked very reasonable. They have different specials each month. Everything was great! I could definitely tell that a lot of hard work goes into making each and every dish. This hidden gem deserves multiple return visits. It's very close to the Manatee Viewing Center, so you might as well check it out while you're in the area.

FYI: we ordered the Korean cheesy corn appetizer first and this is delightfully cheesy and sweet. It doesn't feel like Mayo more cheesy. It's so good! Back to the soup: I wanted their Soft Tofu Soup since I had one in Orlando that I still dreamt about. I had the Beef Soft Tofu soup mild. I was afraid that the flavor would get lost due to not being spicy. I still really liked this soup and I just have to have rice with it, and I just couldn't stop. It was so good yet, it's so easy to eat this soup and enjoy it slowly since it's so hot. It really warmed me up a lot. My friend ordered the galbitang which is beef on the bone and it's a clear soup with eggs and veggies. It tasted very good, not too salty, & reminded me of a caldo de res soup at a Latin restaurant or beef soup clear broth per se. Just to try to compare it. They provided us with 3 banchan sides and rice. I really wish we had more banchan and different types but ours were very good. The broccoli was my fave, the kimchi was not too spicy and the 3rd dish was good and starchy. Our server was a doll. So sweet, so knowledgable and so helpful. This was a great experience at this Korean restaurant. I would love to try so many items on this menu, but it's not really an area I frequent.

We came to celebrate my friend's birthday. They don't take reservations, and we walked in with a party of five. Right away I noticed none of the tables had hot pot or KBBQ setups, which confused me. Turns out this isn't traditional hot pot. You order it and it comes out already prepared in a bowl with a small gel burner underneath (bright purple/fuchsia fuel). They use way too much fuel, and the flames come out the sides. The bowls are visibly burnt, and at our table a napkin caught fire because it was too close to the flame -- not exactly comforting. This is also a buffet, which I personally don't love. There are a lot of options, but most of the food was either too salty, too bland, or after a while everything started tasting the same. Another thing that stood out was our server's attitude. It was a little too much for my liking and made it feel uncomfortable to ask for anything. I hate when service comes off that way -- especially when your job is to serve and help the table. On the plus side, the place is new, clean, and reasonably priced. If you're with friends, really hungry, and just want a quick, casual spot, it works. Just don't come in expecting a real hot pot or Korean BBQ experience, because that's not what this is.

(Also iykyk BTS members were here too :DD) We arrived around 3 PM, and the restaurant was super busy and packed. I was expecting a wait but we got seated right away. Initially, we asked to sit outside and it was really nice at first. The breeze and fresh air in the shade were definitely 10/10. But as the afternoon went on, the sun got much hotter and the seagulls became absolutely VICIOUS LOLL, so we ended up asking to move inside. The staff were so accommodating and let us pick whichever table we wanted, which I really appreciated. Now onto the food, WOW was the first word that came out of my mouth the portions are HUGE. There were a lot of great options to choose from, but I ended up getting the grilled lobster mac and cheese. The portion was HEFTY. I ate so much, yet it still looked like I barely made a dent in the bowl lol. The flavor was good, but it was saltier than I expected, and the more I ate, the more noticeable the saltiness became. I didn't catch the names of my friends' dishes, but they all really enjoyed their meals. Overall, it's a great spot with amazing views, generous portions, and great service. The location on the water is beautiful and the patio tables are great, with fans to help with temperature control. The meh: This place is super inconsistent, even within the same visit. I had one spicy margarita that was amazing and had a couple of jalapeno slices. My friend ordered one that was missing the jalapenos and was just ok. The cooks forgot to add the honey sriracha sauce to our brussel sprouts (which I've had here before so I knew something was missing). The solution to just bring a cup of the sauce to the table was not it. The bad: That parking lot. Not a single place to park, yet the restaurant was not at all busy. It seemed like people parked there and walked next door. Just ok. $75 for two drinks and two apps seems excessive when they just can't get it right.

There truly are some standout items, and when things are done well, they are really done well. I especially loved the seafood broth in the dish with corn, the broths used with the fish, and how they pair with the incredibly fresh seafood. When those elements are fresh, they are absolutely delicious and a highlight of the meal. The fresh sashimi, crab legs, and shrimp continued to live up to their reputation, as did the mushrooms, seafood dishes, fresh cucumber salad, and cabbage. These items were very fresh and made it easy to create an excellent meal. There is a lot of potential here, and many of the offerings truly are amazing. That said, I feel strongly that the buffet would benefit from fewer options done well, rather than a larger variety that isn't consistently fresh. Unfortunately, some items were clearly spoiled and should not have been served. I honestly believe that if everything were taste-tested before being put out, some of these issues could be avoided. The pickled ginger, in particular, had gone bad and so it had a strong unpleasant odor and a slimy texture. This seems like something that could easily be prevented by serving smaller portions, keeping the rest refrigerated, and checking it daily before serving. While I thought the sushi was good, it felt amiss without the pickled ginger. More disappointing for me was the fresh fruit. The oranges, honeydew, and cantaloupe all tasted off and had a bad odor and slimy texture, which is the primary reason for the 3 stars. The bubble tea however was still delicious, but I was really hoping to finish my meal with fresh fruit, and that just wasn't possible this time. I also continue to wish there were more ice cream flavor options. There is so much that is great about this place, and I truly hope management focuses on freshness and quality control so the best items can shine without being overshadowed by a few spoiled items.
