Best. Brussels sprouts. Ever! I know! I'm at a seafood place with great views and tons of tropical drinks-and I appreciate all of that, too. But the Brussels sprouts... wow! They're made with honey... and honey, they're gooood! They're magical-and after an extra long work week, they were also medicinal. Finn's sits right on the water, in Apollo Beach. It's tucked back in a residential area, not far off U.S. 41, right next to Circles. We were there at 12;30 on a Friday afternoon and parking was already scarce. (I can't imagine weekend nights) But don't let that hold you back. This is a fun spot-with inside dining-a huge covered deck and two other outside areas-all with great views. The food and bar menus have enough temptations to keep you coming back for that alone. The blackened mahi was cooked well and not too spicy. It comes with pineapple pico-that was balanced-not overwhelmed by onions. And the fries were really good-nice crunch-came out piping hot. And don't forget the Brussels (I sure won't!) I thought $21.99 was a fair price for the generous portion of fish and two sides (they have a large sides selection!) The drinks were good-nice kick, but not too strong--just right. I hadn't had a rumrunner in *years but suddenly had a craving for one. I knew it would be sweet-and it was-but I liked it. The key lime colada (made with Rumchata coconut!) was very sweet but really good. The perfect dessert. The vibe is casual, laid back and fun. Service was warm and super efficient. This is a beautiful little restaurant with an amazing atmosphere and view, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered the Caprese salad, and it was incredibly salty. I was with a party of 11 and at least three other diners in my party complained about the saltines of their food, which were all different entrées. Finns was solid, but nothing special. Location is great, right in the water! They do have a small parking lot which will for sure fill up on the weekends, they did not design that very well. No overflow parking options so you're forced to park in the middle of the divided highway. Food was okay, oysters were good but the shrimp po boy was lacking. Over cooked and the bread was stale. I've wanted to try this place for a while since I grew up in the Tampa Bay Area but live more near lutz. Finally was able to try it and honestly the food wasn't impressive at all. I for one will pay top dollar for good food but the prices don't reflect the food quality imo. The buffalo dip was served in what looked like a frozen pizza dinner container (tasted microwaved). Stopped in to Finn's after spending half the day at the Teco Manatee Viewing Platforms. We had a very nice experience at Finn's. We started with a round of coconut shrimp. Shrimp were large, well cooked and piping hot. Then we did Cobb salads with blackened grouper. The fish was so fresh. We also split a shrimp boil. I came here with a big group of friends to celebrate a birthday. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had an indoor and outdoor area as the night we went It was a bit chilly. It was nice to have the option to sit inside. They also had live music, which was a nice touch. I really love the beachy vibe. This restaurant is right on the water with that said definitely recommend coming to see the sunset. The food is very good and the portions are large. I recommend the lobster mac & cheese. This is not your normal lobster mac & cheese as they give you a whole lobster tail. I was definitely impressed with that. They have a full bar with an array of drinks. We ordered margaritas to start they were in a small cup for the $12+ price which seems a little high but my friend said it's the norm in the area. After being a loyal customer for the past month and even considering hosting a large company event there (I had just spoken with a manager named Bernadette who gave me Kyla Hayes' business card for event planning), I was suddenly and rudely kicked out. It started with a simple, innocent comment about a waitress's mouth reminding me of Betty Boop. Moments later, I was accused of something I never said. I believe they completely misunderstood my accent--I'm Cuban, and my English isn't perfect--but instead of giving me a chance to explain, they just threw me out. This felt not only unfair but frankly quite discriminatory. I want to emphasize that I'm a father, a husband, and a gentleman who is always respectful towards women. Everything was exceptional! From the parking and ramps to the restaurant, to the hostess, table, view, server, appetizers, drinks, and food - all at a great price. We decided to visit the manatees at Apollo Beach with my elderly parents, Dea and Len. Unfortunately, the manatees didn't want to make an appearance, but the location is still a pleasant place to visit, even without them. Afterward, we were in the mood for lunch and found Finn's Bar and Grill nearby. What a great discovery! It was a Sunday around 1:30 pm, and we had no trouble finding parking. There was a ramp available for Len, who uses a walker, which made accessing the dining area easy. We were quickly seated at a fantastic table on the deck with a beautiful harbor view, thanks to a warm and welcoming hostess. There was live music, but our seating was far enough from the band to enjoy the performance without it being too loud to have a conversation. We kicked off with drinks and appetizers: Bud Light, Kona Big Wave, a Margarita, and Cabernet, along with Grouper Nuggets and Buffalo Chicken Dip served with tortilla chips. The grouper was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. Len and I enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken Dip as well, though the girls thought it was a bit too spicy. Our drinks and appetizers came out quickly, and our server, Brande, was outstanding. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, made great recommendations, and added a touch of humor that made our experience even more enjoyable. She's definitely a top-notch team member at Finn's. Len and I opted for the Party-Sized Steamer Basket, which included Mussels, Shrimp, Smoked Sausage, Steamed Corn, Old Bay Wine Sauce, Grilled Lemons, Garlic Herb Potatoes, Fresh Pico, and Ciabatta Bread. Brande suggested that we add the lobster tail, which was a great idea. It was a flavorful feast! Mom(Dea) and Diane tried the Dockside Dive Burger, which featured two burger patties, Yellow American cheese, Pickles, Shaved Red Onion, Sliced Tomato, Lettuce, all on a Brioche Bun - a satisfying and tasty choice. We couldn't finish everything, so we took the Seafood Platter and leftover dip home. A special mention to Brande, who skillfully transferred everything from the steam pot into a container for us - she handled it like a pro. Our first and last visit to Finn's. We waited exactly 1 hour and 15 mins for our meal. The waiter kept disappearing on us with no explanation. Our meal was not worth the wait. I ordered crab cakes. They were burnt, tasteless, and had way too much salt. The French fries were crisp but also too salty. My husband ordered the jerk chicken and coconut shrimp platter. They forgot to include the coconut shrimp. He did enjoy the coconut rice.. One daughter had salmon salad. Overall she said it was ok, The salmon was cooked well but had no flavor. The other daughter seemed happy with her meal. This was our first with both daughters in Florida and we wanted to take them to a really nice and good seafood restaurant that was close by and we thought to try Finn.
