When I walked in I immediately noticed that the buffet underwhelming. One of my children was charged as an adult because he's tall. The food was 1/5. This used to be one of my favorite places to go in Pueblo West, but we went there a few weeks ago and it was just okay, but things happen. I went with my 10 year old son this evening, and it was so very disappointing. It was an hour before closing time, so I get with buffets that's never the best time to visit, but I think an hour is plenty of time to still provide a good product. There was hardly anything left, and what was had been there for a longtime and there were no fresh options. Ourselves and the other customers were just circling the buffet trying to find something that looked appealing and eventually headed back to our tables with half a plate of dried up chicken, and soggy lo mien. The most frustrating part was at the end, it was $41 for my son and I to leave hungry and dissatisfied. I mentioned that it wasn't good to the cashier, and it was completely blown off. That's the biggest reason for the one star. I get the restaurant business is tough, and I write this not to deter people from going, but hoping they will improve. I really like this one! I'm pretty picky about Chinese food. But this is really good. Nice, sizable pieces of moist pieces of chicken in the fried rice. That's my minimum standard. If the restaurant doesn't have that, nothing else on the menu is going to be good. But Asian Garden does. The seasoning is good. My husband ate egg rolls, spring rolls, soup and clams and tapioca. He has been sick with severe food poisoning for 4 days and is still not over it. We ate here in a whim because of the storm approaching Lake Pueblo. The place looks like it's been here forever and were pleasantly surprised. They kept the buffet portions small so everything stayed fresh. They had the coconut shrimp which is a huge boost for my rating. The service was incredibly friendly and reasonable prices. There isn't a huge selection but it's enough to satisfy all appetites. My family ate a little of everything and finished off with scoops of ice cream. My cousin and I ordered food from here and payed an up charged delivery fee but generally we love their coconut shrimp. But when the delivery got to us there wasn't the lo mein in the bag that we ordered and paid for and when we called to ask about it they said they didn't know what to tell us and that it was in the bag. Pros: Pulling into the private parking lot you could immediately smell the food upon entering the waiting area. We were greet and sat very quickly. Now granted today is a Monday at 5:10 pm and only two other tables are being sat at. Kind of a surprise. Maybe people are working overtime. Food was very good. I loved the salt and pepper shrimp the first go around. Enough of a decent selection to satisfy people. Plus you can also order off a menu if you don't want the buffet. Cons: Some items like the cheese wanton were eh. They were tough to pull apart with a little too much cheese. They could have been cooked a little more. Think of when your busy putting ketchup on a hotdog only to be distracted by the sizzling porterhouse steak next to you. Too much ketchup to soak the bun. On the second go around with the salt and pepper shrimp, and maybe I didn't realize it at first; they are not deshelled. Meaning you will lose all the flavoring of the spices when you deshell.
