I'm of the firm opinion that the average rating for this place is the right rating. Very confused by the 4 and 5 star reviews and somewhat understanding of the 2 star ones. It is by far not the best mongolian grill I've been to -- but I mean, there aren't that many of these things around, are there? Let's take this chronologically. I was excited to discover that this place existed as we were driving north on 25 to Denver and happened to be passing Pueblo around lunchtime. The fact that it's super accessible from the highway made it ideal. When we walked in, I almost walked out. The entire restaurant smelled like bathroom. Literally like I had walked into a bathroom. I have to assume that this is unusual. I was surprised people were actively eating. We wandered over to the food/ingredients line to see if our noses would adapt and to check out the situation. The food looked good. All the vegetables looked fresh, didn't see any wilting. The freeze-dried rolls of meat were still appropriately freeze dried and not melting into a pile of meat goo like at some places. Ok. Food - check. We got a table and came back to the food line. This place charges by size-of-bowl (I've seen some charge by weight or be AYCE) and you can tell the regulars because they KNOW how to fill a bowl. If your bowl is not overflowing to the point of nearly toppling over, you will not get back a full bowl of cooked food. I was only middling hungry so my mid-sized bowl merely heaped. I especially liked the sauce bar. Quite an extensive selection of sauces, with all the usual things plus some extras. I can imagine as a regular you could have a really good time exploring different combinations. Alas, not for me as it's unlikely we'll find our way out here again anytime soon. The food was good. The service was good. If the eating-in-a-bathroom thing weren't so distracting, I'd be saying four stars. read more

First of all when you walk in there is always an odd smell. Owners stare at you but never speak to you (unless you overfill your bowl) they usually always have a mean look and seem unapproachable. The food is pretty decent, if you know what you're doing. Some foods are fully frozen and are sometimes in ice water as well as the sauces. The food is WAYYYY OVERPRICED for food that is sometimes fresh. The chef usually always seems to step outside for a cigarette after cooking a few bowls and rarely speaks or smiles. The waitress is honestly the only sweet and approachable person there. The place is pretty run down, most of the booths are broken, there are sticky tables and the place does really smell like a bathroom. The bathrooms are pretty disgusting. It makes sense why if you come around noon during lunch it is pretty empty, but hey no wait time! Overall, the flavors are pretty good, these owners just need to work on CUSTOMER SERVICE and with those overpriced meals get some new tables and chairs and hopefully a better attitude. read more

This place is pretty good. It's a build-your-own noodle bowl. First off the food taste great! The chef cooked everything properly and the sauce selection was pretty large. However, I kind of felt like the food was not fresh. For the most part, everything was frozen. In fact, a lot of the vegetables were sitting in ice water. I also got the taro boba smoothie and I absolutely loved it! The restaurant itself is kind of worn down. It kind of felt unclean. But I don't think it's a deal breaker. I wasn't really impressed by this place, I wanted to enjoy it but as soon as you walk in there's this weird odor. I couldn't tell if it was pee or old food. Table was sticky as was the menu and the place wasn't really kept clean. Staff was ok. When we went to go grab the bowls to put food in ,the bowls were dirty, I had to look through the bowls to find a decently cleaned one. The food was pretty good but it made me worry with how dirty the place was. 40 for three people seems a little pricey for a run down place. Really unimpressed, but we tried to support a local business. The ingredients were not well maintained and were a mess. Every surface was sticky, including the counters and the table and where you pay. The sauce area was poorly labeled and stuff was spilled everywhere. The noodles were just spaghetti noodles. The flavor is the sauce was okay. I was disappointed that shrimp were not in the lineup nor eggs nor rice. Everything looked dirty. The server was friendly but checked on us once, the guy at the grill didn't say anything at all but was efficient I guess. The owner (I think?) sat at the register the entire time we were there. She was nice enough and I hate to give a bad review because I know so many are doing their best right now. But there is a lot of room for improvement and things as simple as wiping down the counters. Everything just felt gross and the food wasn't very good at all. Bummer. Maybe it was an off day but I don't think we'll be back to find out. The waitress was confused and did not give me a bowl to go gather my food. I picked out a bowl by myself and they fried up some food. It was not much food, just a small amount. I had to stand up and wait in line for 15 minutes to get my food prepared. It was not busy, just slow service. No service to the table. No buffet like it says online. Small portions. So I have eaten at this Mongolian grill for a long time. I have really enjoyed their food until what I just saw there tonight. The old lady that works the register there was cleaning up the food stand when I saw her take food that had fallen out of someone's bowl and put it back in the food bins that are on the food stand. I want to warn people to check the bowls as well. I looked at 18 bowls before I saw a clean one. The way they stack their bowls the insides as well as the outsides have to be clean. I will never be returning sadly, I was so repulsed by what I saw I am also going to call the health inspector tomorrow and inform them of what I saw tonight. I will miss eating there but that is unacceptable!! read more

I love this place! Its basically a chinese stir fry. You can't really mess up your bowl because you are picking what goes into it. You add your meat, veggies and noodles into your bowl. They have a large variety and fresh selections of veggies, I would recommend to follow the sauce recommendation board they have set up and add chili oil to add some spicy kick. The waitresses are really nice, the lady at the front is so sweet. The cooks seem to love their job and everyone is so hard working. I would recommend to anyone! Just discovered this place last week while running errands with some time to kill. Keep in mind that whatever you put in your bowl will shrink about 30% when cooked, so pile it on. The sauces were great and everything was good. Service? What do people expect at a do it yourself? Waitress kept my drink filled and that was all I really required or wanted. There can be a line at the grill itself, but don't go to this type of restaurant if you are expecting to NOT wait for your food to be cooked. I'll be back again. read more

Service wasn't good, there were BABY COCKROACHES crawling around the food, wayyyy to expensive for the food you get. $16 for a soda and large bowl for food that makes you feel sick. I feel bad for giving this review I seriously used to love this place... I don't know what happened. However I will give an honest review... Dining environment is dim and not well lit. It definitely has a rustic feel. The food is by far the best part and therefore brings the whole dining experience to a 3 star at best. It is more of a buddy lunch place ten a date experience. read more

Very nice friendly staff and tasty stirfry. Has a wide variety of vegetables and meat. Anyone can come and enjoy.

My family and I had lunch here on Sunday and it was a horrible experience! The woman serving the food on the buffet was very rude, the little bowl of rice they gave me was cold, my 4 year old grandson was eating his egg drop soup and bit into a hard piece of plastic and poked his mouth with it! We did bring it to their attention and all that was said was "I'm sorry" they didn't even offer another one! Then we go to pay and it was $70 for 4 adults and a 4 year old! Definitely not worth the price!! I understand people are raising prices due to everything going on with Covid but at least post the prices! I only go there because it is the only stirfry place I can fix it myself. The woman who runs it is very rude. Are usually have to get carry out because of my schedule. I do not think it is right that because I do not eat it in their place that I do not get for example the dessert bar and I didn't even get rice to go with it. This place could sure use some competition. It's too bad HuHots does not put in a restaurant in Pueblo. I usually try to get my stirfry when I am in Colorado Springs. Ingredients are frozen and not appealing. Its kind of a free for all you stuff a bowl full of frozen ingredients and cover it with sauces and give it to the chef and hope it tastes ok. Strange but I guess in the end if it turns out terrible you just cover it with the mystery sauce left on the table.. read more

I give this place 4 stars because I enjoy the buffet style make your own bowl concept. The only reason I can't go higher is to be honest the place is not very well maintained. The owner is always short on help and the staffing stays at or near bare minimum. It's unfortunate because with a buffet people are always making a mess so it adds to the poor condition of the rest of the place. The dinner menu that is supposed to guide new comers to a how to guide for flavor is as old as the store itself and in need of replacement. I am not a big atmosphere guy because I dine out to enjoy someone else cooking for me, but this place is stretching the limits even with my low standards. Once good, now not so much. So there is this greasy film on every surface in the place. That kind of film that says "we'll clean when we want to, not when we need to." (Get a clue and get some degreaser and some bleach). Bathrooms had not been cleaned from the previous evening and trash cans were still overflowing. Pee and poop stains and spots all over the stalls. Can't believe this place even passes their Health Department inspections. What concerns me the most is the lack of attention to the food line. Doesn't seem cold enough and never gets wiped down or cleaned. Grill area is a mess and there is a lot of cross contamination as food is cooked. It's only been 7 hours since we ate, so I can't comment on whether or not we'll get some kind of food born illness, but the evening's still young. I absolutely love the food and crave it on the regular. However, there are a lot of problems. For one, many of the foods & spices/sauces lack labels & I question whether they are being kept at safe temperatures. They are also uncovered. Second, everything is very overpriced. Especially when you consider that the food is going to shrink down quite a bit & you may not get the amount you thought you would. Lastly, the WORST thing about this place is the atmosphere. The staff is usually quiet (especially the main lady). There is no music playing. The TV is muted. It's uncomfortable to break this silence. The lady often sits at the podium watching videos on her phone (loudly), doesn't check on the tables to see if they need anything (I always have to get my own box & go out of my way to get a refill/chopsticks- she once video chatted loudly), and always comes off as very rude when it's time to go pay. DO NOT EAT HERE! I didn't mind the food (it was quite mediocre), however, my child and I got violently ill after eating here. When I brought it up with a few co-workers, they also reported having had the same experience. Very rude, insulting owner. She glared, became hostile when we politely asked her to turn up the a/c (high temp near 95 again today and my visibly pregnant wife with me, and kept walking by with hostile looks after that. Strange and demeaning. When I went up to pay the bill, the owner refused to look at me, refused to respond to "thank you", and loudly talked at length in another language on her cell phone while keeping me waiting and waiting -- even though we were the only customers on line to pay at the counter.... As for the food, the soup was not good, and the selection of meats was far more limited than BD's and many other mongolian bbq restaurants.......... This person needs to find another line of work where she does not deal with the public or need to display basic courtesy, respect, and service. read more
