My family used to eat at Asian Grill all the time, and today we decided to try it again. Unfortunately, the restaurant is no longer a full-service, sit-down affair anymore. We had to order at a kiosk, but we were happy to see that all of our old favorites were still on the menu. For appetizers, we ordered the steamed dumplings and the lettuce wraps. The amount of dumplings we received was perfect for our party of four, and there was more than enough chicken and lettuce for the lettuce wraps. One thing I loved about the wraps was that the lettuce was fresh and crispy, giving each bite a satisfying crunch. We ordered way too much food for dinner, but it was all delicious! I had the chicken fried rice, and since my favorite part is always the fried egg, I appreciated the abundance of fried egg in the dish. The rice was a little too overly-sauced, but it didn't taste sticky or gummy at all. My sister tried the honey sesame chicken for the first time, and she loved it. My mother had the pad Thai (which I forgot to take a picture of--whoops!), and she appreciated that she could choose her spice level and that the noodles were very flavorful. One of my father's favorite dinners is Mongolian Beef, and the Mongolian Beef from Asian Grill did not disappoint. The beef was tender and juicy, and he enjoyed the meal at the "medium" spice level. On the way to the restaurant, my father was raving about the chicken noodle soup, so of course we had to order some! Unfortunately, we were too full to even try the soup, but we got a takeout container that we can reheat at home. Asian Grill offers Pepsi products, and the drinks were very expensive. One cup was over $3, and the bottled sodas from the fridge were around the same price. My reason for rating Asian Grill a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 is because of the atmosphere. The upholstery is ripping off the seats of the booths, we had to use plastic utensils instead of real silverware, and the floors were dirty. We also had to bus the table ourselves. The food is good, but don't order through their app. They also nickel and dime you on some ridiculous things items all of a sudden. I used their app to order my food. My ticket was submitted at 7:35 and I received an email receipt then too. The app told me to choose a pick up time, I chose 8pm. I get there at 8pm wait until 8:05 and ask for an update on my food. Hasn't been made yet and I was told it would be another 15 minutes. Get my food at 8:20ish and on the ticket, it wasn't even printed for the assembly line until 7:45...a full 10 minutes after I submitted my order. So I'll try calling next time. This isn't on the employees, but whatever system the store owners have set up. My more whiny complain is that all of a sudden they now charge you to make a dish "hot". DELICIOUS!! I got hot chili chicken and my husband got sweet and spicy chicken with fried rice. It was soooo good!!

We tried this place last night after recess coupon in the mail. They do have a dining room where you can eat there. They have two kiosks where you can place your order. They have both fountain and bottle drinks. Pepsi products gives them bonus points with me. We did start with vegetable egg rolls which were okay but we have had better. Then we got tempura battered veggies which came out in a big brick all stuck together and very greasy. They called it Kakiage. Then for entrees we got the Sweet n Spicy chicken and it was just terrible. Their chicken is so crunchy it's hard to eat. We also got the Hot Chili chicken which was much better but then it was the same chicken so again difficult to eat it was so hard and crunchy. Add to the fact they only have those cheap flimsy plastic silverware made things even more difficult to eat. The guy at the counter was obviously American so it was easy to ask questions about the menu. They use only chicken breast which was a bonus for us because that's all we eat. If we were to go back I'd try the hot chili and do beef and see if it's better. I paid extra for fried rice but there was something extra n there I haven't eaten before on fried rice that I didn't care for. Ordered Doordash from here the other night because I was craving Thai or Chinese food - just something different. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and it was ok - the flavor was good but I've had better and there definitely could have been more chicken. I love this place for convenience and tasty food. You can order from a touch screen, and the variety of Asian food is great. Are your choices basic? Perhaps. But when I can get some tasty pad Thai at the same place where I can get delicious Indian curry, I'm sold! You can also specify your spice level. The portions are a great value too. The only thing I'd knock it for is "regular" customer service. The staff is fine, but nothing stand out. But you aren't there for that- you're there for some great food. read more

Felt like I should update this since it's been four years. Asian Grill used to be one of my favorite restaurants, and it's definitely still good, but just not the same. They've completely redone the entire concept. No longer a sit-down, waiter-comes-to-the-table situation. Now you order at a counter, or even at a kiosk, and you go up to get it when your number is called. This has all sorts of ramifications...smaller menu (many of the best items slashed, like avocado soup, samosas, etc.), no ability to subsitute things or ask for things to be left out (they will tell you no). Theoretically this is supposed to make it all go faster, since one of the common complaints with the restaurant before was the slow wait time. My parents said they've been there a few times since the remodel and it was quick, but last night we went and it was not very fast, so makes me wonder whether the conceptual change accomplished what it was going for. Food is still good, I just don't feel strongly about it like I did back in the day. Hello, McDonalds of the Asian food world (high tech???) You lost the personal touch entirely. I wanted to ask questions about the menu but was ~THEY CAN NO LONGER MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO MENU ITEMS. Now, that's a big deal for someone like me who cannot physically tolerate chili pepper or black pepper of any kind. They used to be able to cut down or cut out the heat. No longer. And the menu is now predominantly spicy, whether mentioned on the menu or not. Even the side dish of pickled vegetables is partly hot. ~QUALITY CONTROL OF THE FOOD IS GONE. My white rice was dry and cool. My friend's fried rice was cold. Her hot and sour soup was cool (one of only two soup choices, by the way). My wontons were cool/cold. My Chicken Tikka had one well-heated bite, the rest was either barely warm or cool. My friend's dinner was also cool. ~DRINK CHOICES ARE EXTREMELY LIMITED. This place is a hidden gem in downtown Noblesville. The Shrimp chow mein and Mongolian beef are very good.

I went with a group of coworkers for dinner and didn't have a problem finding a table as it was almost completely empty. That made me a little nervous, but I think part of it was because we had a later dinner so most of the crowd was already gone and maybe it wasn't as popular. I ordered the Sweet and Spicy Chicken which came with vegetables and three little scoops of different rice. I think for dinner I would have liked an appetizer of a soup or salad, or an egg roll in addition to the meal to make the price more worth it. I didn't care too much for the dish overall. I would have liked more chicken, but I did like some of the rice options, but nothing wowed me overall. Service was good, but not exceptional. I really like the old town square it was in. We miss the actual sit-down , full-service Chinese restaurant! Online this place looked like it had some seating, so we were hopeful...nope, no luck. Not only was this a "self serve," you have to order from a machine on the wall. Prices are really high for what you get. 2 people 1 entree each, 4 sides (because NO rice is included, not even plain white) 1 fountain drink (which they wouldn't touch the cup to give it to you, just pointed to the side of the register) and it was $45. And they ask for a tip! We were ready to rate it just based on that, but thought we should wait as the food could be awesome... then the food was ready. You have to pick that up yourself, too. We ordered for "here" and everything was in styrofoam with plastic utensils. Small portions (or the fact it wasn't on rice might be the difference). Food was nice and hot for sure. Pretty greasy for the honey shrimp and the fried rice had standing oil in the bottom (photo). The Kung Pao, extra spicy, was the hottest I've ever had which isn't a bad thing, but no flavor, just heat. I usually use hot mustard on everything, but they said they don't have any. I know that they quite possibly have high prices to try and stay in business after Covid, but I wouldn't recommend it or return again so the high prices won't make a difference if they don't find balance. I am a firm believe you can not judge a restaurant only by carry out experiences so I will update my review again once we go sit inside. The delivery came well packaged with everything inside secured for delivery and well stocked with sauces and utensils. We ordered a yellow curry, chicken egg rolls, and dumplings. All three of these items tasted fresh and homemade which is a huge plus in my book. If you are a curry fan and like a little kick do not be afraid to order your curry "hot" . Today we ordered our curry "medium" and it was very tolerable. The egg rolls were cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of crunch! This restaurant is an incredible blend Asian fusion cuisine. My wife LOVES this place and I do too. I've never had a bad meal here. The decor and atmosphere is friendly and quaint and high end all at the same time. The food is what keeps us coming back. My wife who has Celiacs is able to enjoy their curry chicken, and she often asks me to get an extra order to take home for lunch or dinner the next day. The food heats up well, and is just as good the next day. The service is always good and courteous, and the pricing is fantastic. read more

I've loved this place in the past but the menu options have slimed at lunch and dinner. They used to have a "standard stir fry not "crispy" chicken entree with veggies and spiciness to ones liking but this was taken off the menu 6+ months ago. Tonight I ordered Kung Pao stir fry trying to stay away from "crispy" but it was definitely fried chicken not stir fry. The meat tasted like Chick Filet nuggets with minimal vegetables and almost ZERO King Pao sauce . The Innards of the Summer Rolls held constant but the rice paper in which they were wrapped stuck to our fingers which made them difficult to eat. I LOVE this place! We order from work at least once a week. Never had a bad experience. When you order something spicy they aren't messing around! The shrimp Pad Thai is my fav. The sauce that comes with the vegetable egg roll is so good you want to swim in it. The crab wontons are NOT rangoons. There is way more crab meat than cream cheese - which is delicious! The kakiage is very good, but if you order it take-out it will be mushy when you get home, definitely better if dining in. I am a long-time fan of Asian Grill. It looks very nondescript from the exterior, but it's the best kept secret of nobelsville in my opinion. The food is phenomenal, and I am still please after they downgraded to a more accessible, dine in/carry out experience (think panera or noodles; they used to be semi-formal with cloth napkins, etc.). I have been dining at Asian grill for many years and have always loved their take on asian food. They recently remodeled and it's not the same experience. Just the few times I've recently been there, customers seem disgruntled by the changes. That being said, I personally will continue to order their food again and again because it really is good. I will say this restaurant used to be somewhat of a nice place to dine, but now has a fast-food feel. If you want something quick and tasty to eat, this is the place for you! I truly believe it deserves every star and then some. We had honey sesame chicken and Bangkok Noodles w shrimp. The shrimp were so fresh and perfectly cooked - not breaded but with a crunch. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the service is fantastic, and the food is awesome. Bangkok Noodles are awesome. The heat is plentiful without adding additional spice. I wrote a review in September, It was really really bad. After that, the owner who had ignored our party the entire time we spent in the restaurant spent days trying to convince me to take off the review. If there had been half that effort while I was in the restaurant, we would not have had a problem. So I refused to alter my review as he requested, becasue he then accused me of lying about the condition of the restaruant and the service, because I felt others should know how bad it really was... however to my amazement, a few days later my review is gone from the web site. Asian Grill. What a fantastic place. This restaurant rebranded a few years ago, and what was once a slightly overpriced sit-down restaurant with a few good options became my number 1 go-to for Asian cuisine. (My favourite dish is the bangkok noodles)! Asian Grill is centrally located on the square in Downtown Noblesville. As a local business, they hang local art and flyers on the walls/windows, and the art is for sale, which is a nice way to support local artists. The design of the restaurant itself is strange (it's essentially a long hallway), but you're not going there for the drywall, you're there for smooth, rich, spicy noodles, classic Asian-American and Asian dishes, surprisingly good soup, and a team of cooks who are clearly passionate about producing quality food for all of their customers. When we've had street fairs/dances in the past, Asian Grill has always been a stand-out booth with very kind faces and very comforting food. Definitely reccomend Asian Grill if you're looking for some Asian comfort food on a rainy day. P.S. some may say that it is still overpriced, and I debated giving 4 stars over that, but the quality certainly matches the price, so I am not mad in the slightest. read more

But the food was amazing, everything was fresh and delicious and I would highly recommend coming here. MUST TRY! So glad we decided to finally try this spot, it was absolutely outstanding. It's right on the square in downtown Noblesville, so it's not gigantic, but not cramped like some smaller restaurants. We were seated immediately and got our drinks quickly. We ordered the crab wontons for the appetizer, very tasty, and they're made with real crab, not imitation like other places. Since we hadn't been there before, I asked the server for recommendations and she told me her favorites for each section of the menu, very descriptive and knowledgeable. I decided to go with Bulgogi, a beef dish. It was AWESOME!!! The dish came with three types of rice, all of them were great. It also came with a chili sauce on the side, there's a good amount of heat, so just apply the right amount for you. The last thing in the plate were pickled veggies, they were a wonderful balance of sweet, heat, and tart. My only critique would be the carrots could've been cooked a little more so they would've absorbed more of the pickling solution, but they still really good. My wife ordered the Orange Chicken and she loved it. If you're looking for a good selection of Asian cuisine, you have to stop in here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Can't wait to go back and try more. Update: we went back and this time took the in-laws. They loved it also, but I felt like the sequel was not as good as the original. Two of us ordered the small side salads and the other two ordered hot & sour soup. I got the salad and thought it had too much going on: cilantro, cabbage, fennel, green and red pepper, peanuts, sesame seeds, and then it was over-dressed. There was a puddle of dressing after I ate everything. For my entree I was excited to try the pad Thai, but unfortunately it was not at all what I expected. I'm not sure what the sauce base consisted of, but it almost seemed as though it was a tomato base. There was also huge pieces of tofu that was fried and was very chewy and tough. The egg wasn't mixed in like it traditionally would be, but that was not a big deal. The shrimp were good size and tasted great. I ate the shrimp, egg, and noodles, and it was alright, but a far cry from the outstanding experience I had on my first visit. I'm going on the record that I was extremely pleased with this place. We were strolling around the square and asked the shop owners for recommendations. Both mentioned this place as being fabulous. We each ordered hot tea and had many options. The locals suggested the mushroom soup and I will get this again! Great rich flavor!! We also got an appetizer of the crab rangoon. It is not the buffet kind but real crab (and you can taste it) and cream cheese stuffed into large wrappers. Excellent. I got the shrimp pad Thai and it was spectacular with large plump shrimp. My friend got a curry chicken (takki?) and she thought it was really good. Yes of course too much to eat so we had to get to got boxes. Very good and friendly service.
