Food King is our local go to Chinese restaurant for takeout. The food is always hot, fresh, and well packaged with plenty of sauces and fortune cookies. I particularly love their sweet and sour chicken and this time I also tried their szechwan chicken (mild spice level). The szechwan was packed with stir fried veggies and chicken and the sauce was just the right spice level for me. I also regularly order the orange chicken which is always crispy and coated in a sweet and citrusy sauce. You may find some orange peel in the sauce which is just an indicator to me of the freshness and flavor of the sauce. Three stars for food & one for courtesy. On a whim, I decided to try this restaurant for their lunch special. I saw that Yelp had no real current information but thought I'd chance it anyway. At the time there was just one gentleman who took the order and cooked. He was very polite and gracious. I ordered the orange chicken with fried rice & a spring roll. The spring roll was small, but so fresh & flavorful tasting and crispy. I would go back just to order a few of those. My lunch container was filled to the brim! I felt the rice was a bit bland for my taste but there was plenty of sauce on the chicken to compensate for that. The kitchen is right there in the open so you can watch them prepare your food, which is a good thing Of course the restaurant itself is extremely basic. I wouldn't mind sitting there for a quick lunch but I had my food to go. I will post photos of the current menu since there was nothing on here that was up-to-date. I decided to treat myself to some Chinese food for dinner at Food King. This is a small Chinese takeout place in a strip mall off of E 86th street, but I ordered through Uber Eats. I have driven past the restaurant and looked inside, and does not appear to be much impressive ambiance wise from the outside. As far as the food is concerned, it is decent and tastes good. I ordered the crab ragoons since it was a buy one, get one free special through Uber Eats, and the sweet and sour chicken. The crab ragoons were delicious, but nothing to write home about to your parents. The sweet and sour chicken is the same, but tasted great. This was definitely comfort food and Food King delivered that to me with great expectations. If you are looking for simple Chinese food for a nice dinner, Food King is the place to go to for your needs and wants. So far so good. Food King is your typical Chinese restaurant a coworker told me about. I'm accustomed to East coast flavor and Food King provides me that. I feel like I'm part Asian and I am always looking for Asian cuisine as my comfort food and I'm always on the look for a great place to satisfy my craving. They have a pretty good list of lunch items for a great price. I couldn't decide between the general tso's chicken and the Szechuan chicken but ended up getting the Szechuan because it had veggies (trying to end 2018 on a healthy note). I've gotten it twice and have been satisfied both times. I wish the sauce had a teench more flavor but it's good. I think I'll try the general tso's chicken next time. Potions are really nice. Their dinner portion was enough for two meals for me. The staff is friendly. The lady was able to tell me about my order history; I guess they keep track of your orders based on your phone number. I liked that because if I don't remember-they will. So it'll be on my list; probably a place I'll visit often. read more

Rangoons were awesome and had a good amount of filling. My only recommendation would be getting vegetable fried rice rather than whatever comes with it. I couldn't identity the type of meat cooked in the rice (the white item in bottom left of pic) but it was my least favorite part. The drastic color difference made it questionable. Ordering was easy over the phone and it was delivered in 20 minutes. They take care over the phone and you have to give them a tip amount here. The receipt does not have the fill in the blank option. I originally found this spot via DoorDash. Yet once I tried the food and found out it was so close to our house, we started making the short drive on a pretty regular basis. First things first: don't let the strip mall location and outside look detour you. The dishes are always made fresh and portion sizes are worth the cost. Our go-to meals are the General Tsos (extra spicy) and their Chicken Lo Mein. They also have crab Rangoons that are pretty good as well! Service is quick, friendly, and they sometimes give us free cookies or egg rolls with our meals. I do sometimes think the meals are a bit expensive, but most restaurants are these days. They do have a $7.99 lunch special though! I do wish they would upgrade the inside of the restaurant, it's not very welcoming to sit in so we always get our food to go. My husband and I are not from Indiana. However, we love our Chinese food so we found this restaurant close to the job site at Nora Plaza. My husband found this restaurant to be extremely good and fresh tasting. He always orders the shrimp lo mein and the shrimp fried rice combination plate. We have also tried the chicken wings. My favorite dish is shrimp egg foo, young, however, the one time that I ordered the dish from them, when I got back to the hotel I noticed that the gravy for the dish looked very different than I've ever seen it. Without even trying to open it. I called them to explain that they must have given me the wrong gravy when the young lady came on the phone. She explained to me. that the gravy they make for their shrimp egg foo young is homemade. The only issue I have with that is that I've only had shrimp egg foo young a certain way and it normally comes with a brown gravy. I tried this gravy in the container but I didn't like it. It was Sweet, which I didn't think went with the shrimp egg foo young. However the part that I was happy and impressed about was when I called to explain that I was not thrilled about this different homemade gravy for the egg foo young, the young lady offered to give me some shrimp fried rice. Which is what I said I would have ordered if I had known about the non traditional sauce. I have never ever been given that opportunity like that before if I didn't like something from a Chinese restaurant, they normally say you buy, you eat no refund. They are extremely nice and have excellent customer service. The shrimp egg foo young itself, tasted pretty good. I can't speak for all of their dishes, because I only eat dishes with shrimp in them, but I love their customer service. read more

They have great portion sizes and pricing. I went for lunch last week and got potstickers, egg drop soup, and an egg roll for under $10 before tip! The order of potstickers came with 8 potstickers that were fried and decent size. The small egg drop soup was enough for me to have half one day and half the next. The food was all delicious! Okay, I'll confess there are just some days when I don't want to cook and nothing sounds better than Chinese Food. I went in for my typical take out order and they have changed one of my favorite menu items. (insert sad face with tears running down my cheeks here). Previously they offered Steamed Dumplings (the fat soft doughie kind) and Pot Stickers (the crescent thin dough kind). Now they still say they offer Steamed Dumplings and Pot Stickers but....alas... They are now only offering the Pot Stickers (the crescent thin dough kind) steamed and calling them "Steamed Dumplings" and the same thing fried is called "Pot Stickers". No more of the yummy fat soft doughie Steamed Dumplings, sigh.... the rest of the menu items appear to be business as usually and still yummy.
