My favorite store in all of Corpus Christi! This is a one stop shop for all of your Asian food needs. It appears to be a small store but they have great variety! Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Indian, and Taiwanese products can all be found here. They have a big frozen meats section, prepared foods (like dumplings, buns, eggrolls), snacks, fresh produce and herbs, sauces/seasonings, rice/noodles, and more. All of the workers here are very nice and will answer any questions you have. They do have some items for sale and it changes. You will see a nice handwritten sign by the on sale item. I really appreciate the kindness of the workers they're always welcoming and helpful. The food is very delicious, and they have a wide variety of items to choose from. The background music adds a nice touch to the atmosphere and makes shopping more enjoyable. They also offer balikbayan box services, which is super convenient. Here is a little Asia. This store is small. But the store has a lot of Asian food. I am from Japan. I mainly checked Japanese food. I found snacks, tea, and natto from Japan. Cool! I have to compare here with Hong Kong markets in Corpus Christi. The Asian market is well-organized and clean. The store put prices on many items! Good job. I saw a Japanese arare-snack. It said ' $1.75" It was cheaper than the same one at Daido in Houston! LOL. read more

Seems to be Filipino owned but definitely a great find in Corpus. I was really happy to see that they had a particular flavor of hopia (a Filipino sweet) that I hadn't seen since I was about 13. The employees were friendly and I got the impression that they had a lot of regulars from the area that shopped here. The aisles are a bit small and the store sits right next to a Chinese buffet(?) (the parking situation was a little irritating cause the area was packed at the time I went.) Overall a good variety of items and within a decent price range. read more

Always been a fan of the Asian Market. They used to be a little hole-in-the-wall (literally) corner store and now has grown to a full scale market with a great selection of Asian products; rices, noodles, sauces, some cooking equipment, fresh produce, seafood, etc. Their prices seem comparable to other markets I've visited in other cities. The staff there is friendly and helpful. If you're not sure which brand is the best, they'll tell you what most people buy (which came in handy when I couldn't decide on which fish sauce to get). My only complaint (more of a nag) is, they have SO much stuff in a relatively small place it's gets hard to maneuver around with other folks - especially when they bunch up around the checkout counter. But, I will easily take this minor inconvenience for their inventory availability anytime. read more

The Hong Kong Market is more vegetables which is okay but I prefer the better selections of meats, snacks and noodles that this asian market offers ! also if theres something they are out of they will get your information down and call you when it's back in stock ! This Asian Market is my new favorite tried and true market for Asian goods. They have a wide range of oriental selections, even the ones I wouldn't expect to find. The one con I have is that they don't carry matcha powder, which I was pretty disappointed about, but otherwise, they have pretty much everything you're looking for. It's a great overall oriental market whenever the other asian markets fall flat on items that you desperately need. read more

Didn't buy anything as I was in Austin recently and my stock was just fine, but went there to take a pick. What I saw was a diverse market with plenty of items to fill anybody's munchies. When I first moved to the states and knowing that I would be moving in to a small town like Corpus, I did not expect much about availability of Asian food let alone an Asian Market. Well, I was wrong! Although a bit pricier and not as complete as Viet Hoa in Houston, Asian Market in Corpus Christi has a considerably good selection of asian groceries. From different kind of spices to japanese snacks and frozen seafood. Owners are nice, they always try to help if you can't find something. Asian Market has your general basic Asian groceries and utensils. It's a bit small in size and selection, but very easy to navigate around. This little market also includes a mini selection of Chinese and Filipino beauty products (unfortunately, you won't find Japanese or Korean cosmetics here, but they're basically scented soaps and Vaseline brand shampoo. Yeah, I know. I had no idea Vaseline sold shampoo in the Philippines either!). Overall, this store won't have everything, but it does offer your basic needs in Asian Cuisine! read more

This place is awesome! I have been shopping at the Asian Market for years. I have purchased items for my sister that lives in Killeen Texas and a cousin that lives in San Jose Ca. simply because they don't venture out of their comfort zones. However, after I introduced them to favorites that I have enjoyed from the Asian market, they each approached people of the Asian ethnic group in their own town to inquire about Asian markets in their areas. The small aisles don't bother me at all. "when in Asia, I say do as they do." What I love most is the variety of products that they have. There are some items in this market that I have never even seen before, being of African American descent. However, because of this market, I have been exposed to soo many different cultures. The people that shop there are just as friendly as the people working in the market. I can question anyone about anything I see them preparing to buy and they are more than happy to tell me about how it's used or how it's prepared in their country.
