I ordered Bi bim bop, with bulgogi. The cook forgot the meat, my wife was eating bulgogi and gave me some of hers. When I complained she didn't believe me. No apology, nothing. Also traditional Korean food comes with kimche and other vegetables and with this meal you usually get seaweed soup. They gave nothing but the entre. When I asked her where the kimche was, she said "I could buy some from the store" read more

This place is a great hidden treasure. The store has so much. They even have a little cafe inside which has a great menu.

Very overpriced but I get it, this stuff is imported straight from Korea. Lady at the counter didn't speak a word to me when she rung me up, I think it may be that she doesn't speak English well. She also didn't give me a bag for all my stuff so I had to hang carry it all in my arms, despite there being plastic bags at the register. At the end of my total she hand jammed the system and charged me $6, I'm assuming was taxes (?). Also in Korea an instant ramen bowl is around $1 equivalent in won ₩ but here the same brand and size was $5.99. Just an example of the overpriced items. My daughter goes to ASU and comes here often for lunch. I like some of the meals even though I am definitely not Asian. I like their selection of snacks. It's fun to try new snacks recommended by my daughter. The ladies at the front counter are friendly and helpful. They have quite a selection of Asian foods in their frozen food section. I think it's a great place to buy Asian foods. read more

The best Asian Market in Texas no doubt! If you want an authentic experience of Korean Cuisine without having to travel to Korea, go here! I've spent a month in Korea and fell in love with the culture and the food. This place is as authentic as it comes, right down to the food and the people speaking the Korean language through out the store/restaurant. Every time I come to the Asian Market it's like I'm back in Korea, brings back so many adventures and happy memories. The owners are warm and friendly and are always happy to share their hospitality with you! The food is so delicious! I drive from Abilene to San Angelo to eat here! I ordered the Kimchi jjigae. What a great find a Asian market in a Texas town. Fresh Asian vegetables are I. The the walk in refrigerator on the right side of the store. They had my beef ball for my Pho I was making. Normally they have Thai Basil but it sell out quick the owner said he get a delivery every Friday and it was sold out by Saturday this week. I got some fresh mint instead. It is also a restaurant check my photos for hours. So happy I can get my Pho ingredients in San Angelo. read more

Bibimbap was good, had good portion of rice and veggies. Not alot of meat. But food was good. Comes hot and fresh. Very tasty meat. Japchae / noodles were so flavorful. My favorite so far. You can tell this was made with lots of love. Meat is very well marinated. Rice and marinated beef- hubby said it was okay. Good variety of asian grocery. They even had frozen golden pampano which is awesome since there seems to be no place to buy fresh fish out here. The ladies working there were very nice/sweet. read more

I am absolutely thrilled that I went here!! It has been so long since I have had such a delicious bibimbop!! I ordered my food to go but I will definitely be returning to eat inside the decor is very nice and the atmosphere is cozy. On top of the delicious food there is a great selection of ingredients I haven't been able to find near me like katsu sauce and full star anise seeds. I wish there was a greater variety of produce and seasonings, but I understand the market here is very small for Asian products. I wish they had more complex Korean dishes as well, but again, I understand that the market is small. What I do love is their kimbap though. I would come just for their kimbap. I get my kimchi here too, but mostly because it's fresh compared to the American stores. read more

A great addition to San Angelo! This is a small Asian grocery store selling various products to include frozen goods and meat. In the back there is a kitchen and a small seating area for dining. If you want to enjoy one of their delicious Korea dishes, place your order with the friendly man at the front counter. They have pictures of the dishes on the wall next to the counter to help you decide. I ordered the Japchae and was very pleased. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. This is definitely a nice spot to grab food while checking out some of their products for sale. read more

I visited this market in September during my first trip to San Angelo and I could not find it lol. I went to this previous address of 405 W Ave N and they directed me down the way just before Angelo State University. You make a left on Johnson Street and it is there on your left next to La Chilanga restaurant. This island girl will find any and every Asian Market where ever I go usually...lol...and they had a great selection of Asian groceries. I bought some spicy dried ika (dried, shredded squid or dried cuttlefish that tastes the same to me. I think this one was squid ), Aloha Shoyu (a.k.a.soy sauce and Aloha is the BEST brand just FYI for you folks who have never tried it), some mochiko sweet rice flour (to make mochi), fishcake, sake and various other beverages like this japanese iced coffee that I love so much. You get the idea. They also sell other various Asian household goods like most Asian stores do. The owners of this market are Korean and they were very polite and this store seemed very clean. read more
