Went to Jason's Deli on Knickerbocker Rd. I've been to J.D. in other cities, but not in San Angelo. Decided on the Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Basil Soup. Arrived at Jason's, and there was a line more than halfway to the door. This might take a while because I noticed only one person taking orders. Before you know it, I was next to order. Then I saw a hand wave above the cash register, motioning me to come over. That's when I noticed they have three areas open to take orders, and two of them are, let's say, not very tall people. Their heads were lower than the cash registers. You could not see them, but that line disappeared really quickly. Anyway, I placed my order, 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Soup, and a Diet Dr Pepper drink. The lady replied back my order and asked what kind of soup, Tomato Basil or Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw. I asked her to repeat that, and she said, Tomato Basil or Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw. I said, I'm sorry, could you repeat the last part. She said, Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw. I then said, Tomato Basil Soup will be fine. For the life of me, I could not understand what kind of soup Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw was, and I don't know if that sounded good or not. But I do know Tomato Basil Soup is a good soup. FYI, the 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread has two-slices of Cheddar Cheese and one-slice (in the center) of Muenster Cheese. That really sounds gooeygoodness to me. I grabbed my cup and number, filled my cup with Diet Dr Pepper (the Texas Coke), and located a table. This place is really busy with only a couple tables open. When one table is available, their Table-Cleaner is right there preparing it for the next customer. That is Service at its Best. Nicely done Jason. In a couple of minutes, my order arrived, and the Tomato Basil Soup was served in a Kettle Bowl style with Chunks of Tomato throughout and melted Chedder Cheese on top. Not what the picture showed on-line, and that looked delicious, and this looks better - Love It. However, the Grilled Cheese Sandwich is cut into small quarters. This 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread is one-tiny-slice, but nicely toasted. Peeked inside for the cheese, and it's only a small dab of yellow and white. This is not a "Brylcreem Commercial" where a 'Little Dab Will Do Ya', it's a Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and I'm looking for the Cheese. I do not see how this could be three-slices, which doesn't even go to the edge of the toast. The Tomato Basil Soup is absolutely Delicious and Flavorful, and loving those chunks of tomatoes. Love That Soup. The 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread is toasted perfectly and has the perfect crunch in every bite. Once in a while, you could actually taste a little cheese, but not often. The only thing I was disappointed in was their Grilled Cheese Sandwich with very little cheese. Other than that, I enjoyed my lunch and loved their Tomato Basil Soup. When I left, there was still a line, and it was moving pretty fast. Now I'm wondering what that Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw soup was and how it tasted. I didn't see it on the menu board, so it must be something new they are trying. Maybe next time I will order it, but with something other than the Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Check out a Jason's Deli near you, and if they have it, try the Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw soup and let me know how it taste. read more

The service was amazing. The cashier answered my questions. And she greeted me with a smile. The ambience was nice , clean areas, and not very busy when I got here but after I ordered, it seems like they received a rush. As far as the food, I didn't really care for the chicken, but the rest of the sandwich is great. Ok, but the pumpkin cake BOGO special was a rip off. The cake in the photo was a decent sized normal piece of Bundt cake for $4.19. What you actually get is two skinny pieces for $2.10 each. Looking at the two photos, the first one with a fork next to it is from the advertisement. I don't know who was in charge of making my house salad but you made me one happy camper. The proportion was insane and will feed me for the next two days. Best of all, the toppings were incredibly fresh and crisp and they didn't miss a single topping (I chose a lot) I've had a lot of a salads in my life and this was hands down, the best I've ever had. read more

The employees are very lazy I had to ask twice for a lid for the to go containers for the salad and I had to ask for bag for the salad. The salad container is very thin. The salad bar is very dirty the workers don't wipe up the messes they just smear it around. Most of the items on the bar were out or were very old and dried out. The teas were out and one other employees asked about it. And said it not my fu#$&ing job. They were out of ice cream cones . The mini muffins were out the ginger bread one's were all smashed up. People should not be aloud to bring strollers in and block the isle when people are walking to there tables. There was a tall package by the front door that should have been put outside or in the back and not blocking the entrance. read more

Location Overview: You can find this franchise on Knickerbocker Rd and Commerce St, across the street from Little Ceasar's. It is located on the back side of the build. Customer Service: 1st day Grand Opening while it was pretty busy. Things moved pretty smoothly. I have gone a few more times and have not had any issues, staff are pretty attentive. Quality/Quantity: The quality of Jason's Deli is always fresh. I have never had this problem with any location. As of course this location is new, but the salad bar is being well maintained. Every time I order from this restaurant I bite my tongue because they always forget a item I ordered. This time I called and wanted to give a heads up to the management staff that someone there is leaving out stuff from people's orders and I got a lady named Angie and her response was that it's the dashers fault for not opening the seal food bag to check that everything was in there. So god forbid I don't order a sandwich with no onions. I guess my dasher needs to open my sealed bag and finger through my food to make sure the people working there did there job. read more

We've eaten here several times this trip to San Angelo because of the constant satisfaction of doing things the right way. Went here last Sunday for lunch and it did not dissapoint! It was packed and the line was long, but the food still came out timely. Our meals and drinks were good (there's a large sweet tea variety to choose from). There's plenty of indoor as well as outdoor seating options too. Lived in a big city so long time Jason's Deli fan. Eaten at the San Angelo location twice. I must be picking the wrong things on the menu to eat. Had the Rueben the Great and the New Yorker. Nothing worse than biting into a stack of meat that is dry. Never had sandwiches this dry from a Jason's, twice, not to mention anywhere else. Had an unfortunate spill of tea. They hide the napkins, so I had to go up front to the countert to get some. Their cleanup people walked by the table several times never offering to take the napkins. I've been going to Jasons deli since the late 70s when I lived in southeast Texas, and have never had any bad food or a bad experience. Food is good. Staff is friendly and helpful. When I see a bad review for a place that I've never had a bad experience with and the food has always been good, I can't help but wonder if that review isn't given by somebody who works at a competing business. Never had an issue of any kind at any Jason's Deli and I've been to multiple ones here in Texas and also South Carolina. read more

This place is pretty expensive, but the food was great. I had the chicken salad sandwich in a croissant bun, which was great. It has pineapples in it, which surprised me. The cheese and broccoli soup was delicious as well. However, the dining room was dirty and many tables weren't cleaned up. read more

The manager lied to us or he just wasn't familiar with the buy one get one special that they're having right now. We asked if that was available ? he said it was on the weekend so I asked is Friday considered part of the weekend and he said no just Saturday and Sunday so I walked back to the door and read the sign and it stated that you needed to download the app to get the BOGO. I walked back and let him know that there was no weekend but needed to download the app and he totally blew it off, no response at all . At that point it was obvious to me, he could care less about us being there spending our hard earned money. Anyway, Terrible service coming from a manager. I am visiting from out of town but grew up here and lived in San Angelo many years, all the while wishing we could get a Jason's Deli. I was so excited to find out there was finally one in town! I ordered two salads on the app for drive thru pickup with an estimated pickup time of approximately 20 minutes. I headed to the restaurant and pulled into the drive thru line behind one pickup. We waited, and waited, and waited, until I finally pulled out of line, parked, and went inside. Once inside I gave the server my name for online order pickup, asked if I could go ahead and get my tea so she handed me a cup, and turned around and did a halfway glance around the counter for my order. She didn't even thoroughly check the items on the wire rack by the drive thru window and proceeded to tell me, "they're still preparing it". I continued to wait, with 3 other "to go" customers, and the young lady standing beside me was a food delivery driver that told me she has had a bad experience with them having food prepared in a timely manner AND when she ordered, the person kept asking her to repeat her order over and over, she got to the restaurant to pick up the food 20 minutes later, only to be told they couldn't hear her on the phone and decided to just wait until she came in to pick up her order so she could reorder, they hadn't even started to prepare it. The kicker here is it was the MANAGER that took her order on the phone and "lost" it and said they couldn't hear her. When he found out she was a food delivery driver he started back tracking. But the order was still way overdue. As she finished her story I looked at my watch and I had been waiting 40 minutes for 2 salads! I know they were busy but there were literally 9 people, including the manager, working the counter, food prep, and drive thru window, and not one of them appeared bothered by all the people waiting for their food. I finally asked again for them to check for my order and lo and behold, it had been sitting on the wire rack by the drive thru window!! A different girl preceded to hand me my food and a tea that had been prepared by them but saw I had a tea in my hand and said "did you already get a tea?" I said , "yes", then she preceded to reprimand me by saying, "did someone give it to you? Next time you order online you need to wait for us to give you the drink" and pulled the prepared tea back to make sure I didn't get two teas. I didn't want two teas and didn't even attempt to take it. ‍I told her I asked the server for the cup and she gave it to me, no problem, then I pointed to the girl that handed me the cup. I told the server that I asked for the tea cup when I came in after waiting a very long time in the drive thru, and I said it with frustration. By this time I had been waiting close to an hour for my food! That could have been prevented if the original server would have actually looked through all of the prepared orders to see if mine was ready! Worst experience ever and the other people waiting were also very put out with the amount of time it was taking. The manager needs to heed warning with the bad reviews. San Angelo has a hard time keeping good restaurants and just because Jason's Deli has a good name doesn't guarantee people will do business here if the service is awful! Worst Jason's Deli I've ever been to. At only 1/3 full, the noise was unbearable, and the cashier didn't even try to understand us. The salad bar was nearly empty, and the food looked old.
