Just tried KC-HEB KINDLY CULTIVATED organic green leaf& baby romaine lettuce and it was the crunches, freshest and most flavorful greens I've had outside my own garden. And grown in Temple Texas. Forget all other droopy, chlorinated salad mixes. No comparison!!!! Thanks KC and HEB! read more

This is absolutely my favorite grocery store in Texas! The service at all of their stores is outstanding. The quality of the produce is terrific, and the prices are as good as they can be given the current economic challenges. HEB does a lot with combo Locos. Many of the new stores have a terrific ambience and a very modern looking feel. My one wish is that they would accept Apple Pay. read more

Fair selection of allergy-friendly foods. Wish they had a bit more but understand there may not be a great need in this area. Staff were friendly, and store was well-organized. Update: Tried their coffee and the treats I picked up....and that coffee...THE best! Seriously! So good! Ordered 3 more bags online because that's how yummy this coffee is! Great store that's always packed and well stocked. Bbq on site restaurant is excellent offering very decent brisket. They have the best on site tortillas but lately they've been out which is frustrating. Best grocery store,, hands down if you can brave the crowd. read more

Confession: I don't like this location as much as the other one down the way on Sherwood. There really isn't anything wrong with it, it's just organized differently than the other and that makes me feel weird lol. Anyway, just like any other HEB, I feel like they have just about everything under the sun that you could want, so there's that! I have noticed though, that you may find some things at this location that you won't at the other location down the way and vice versa. Either way, the staff is just as unhelpful for the most part - unremarkable really, but I'm sure you'll find what you need. read more

I ordered groceries to get delivered and it took four attempts to get them delivered correctly! First , there was a system outage, second they delivered on part of my order, third they delivered to the wrong address and crossing my fingers that fourth time they get it right! I am so frustrated and disappointed in the service! Sad to see how the customer service has gone downhill! read more

We were looking for wine at 10:30 pm and I saw H-E-B! We drove in and found a bottle of moscato with a screw-top lid do we didn't have to buy a corkscrew while traveling. I have so bought my fair share of corkscrews this way. Their prices were goods, the people were nice and we were in and out. read more

A grocery store to write home to mom about. This reminded of all the healthy of Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, but they had an added mom and pop local feel. It was the holiday season, so they were sampling food and beverages every where I looked. They had everything I good imagine, but I didn't check on cauliflower rice, but that is for next visit. H-E-B is a fun place to shop and meet your neighbors. Get some healthy bites or delicious calorie filled delights in the bakery section. The wine and beer variety was vast to mention it lightly. I will put this on my monthly shopping list. The store has a nice energy and I could easily spend and hour in here and not see everything. I liked this grocery a lot. As I was fixing to exit the wheel locked on me. supposedly HEB has the lock so no one can take the carts off the premises why not say what they are really there for. read more

This is our main grocery store we go to since it is the closest to our house. Prices are competitive and there are frequent in-store/coupon specials. The quality of the produce and meats is great. The employees are always friendly and helpful and obviously enjoy working there (unlike the grumpy employees I have encountered at other stores). I just wish they would carry a few certain items, for which I have to either go to Walmart or Market Street, otherwise I would do ALL my shopping there. I moved here from the Northwest and at first missed WinCo, but H-E-B is just as good, if not better and we don't have to bag our own groceries :) Here, everything really IS better. read more

Great grocery store but because it's located at what seems like the crossroads of humanity, it tends to get crowded. You will either have a pleasant shopping experience as you peruse the aisles looking for some of the favorite take home items or you will feel like you and your sports car shopping cart are back out in traffic fighting with the tailgaters and lane switchers. "Use your turn signal bub!" They carry just about every brand a grocery store is expected to carry. The checkers are friendly and the place is tidy and clean. Lots of parking out front. Get there before everyone gets off work and you'll be straight. Try a Saturday and you might dread the check out line. read more

What can I say for the biggest, busiest grocery store in town. It is a cluster... Trying to get in and out of here is a nightmare. I know so many folks that won't here because of this cluster. We came by for a few odds and ends while we were in town to visit my mom. We needed vegetables and HEB is the place for fresh Vegetables. I wish SA had more than one HEB to alleviate some of the headache of actually trying to shop here but why would they? What will it take? Hopefully it's on its way soon. read more

Pharmacy told me my meds would be ready in an hour... I went to pick them up and they told me they told me they would not be ready till the next day... Went today they told me 30 min ... I went back hours later and they told me another 45 min ... And they were not very nice though the whole process ... Do not go here !!! read more

I love HEB, it is my type of store. When I moved here from Houston 8 years ago I was surprised how organized and wonderful one store can be. Constantly I see new changes and improvements happening. Not only in the new store but in the older store as well. I prefer the older store because I just have the feel for it. What other large store can you go into and still have that mom and pop feel once you walk into the front door. Everyone are so friendly from the stockers to the Head Manager who is a working Manager. I go up to him and ask for something and the next time I am there so is the item. No one is ever to busy for you. This is why I call HEB, MY HEB! I guess it makes me a bit of a pretentious brat that what really makes me happy about this store is that their express lanes use correct grammar, instructing people that they can have 10 items or FEWER instead of less. Seriously, though. The service is wonderful, the selection is great, and there is a great deal the store has to offer over and above groceries. They have a great kitchen supply section, a wonderful business center (a bank, too) and a good, though small, selection of books and movies. We used to do most of our shopping at walmart, but now it's one trip a month to walmart and the rest right here. read more

I try, and you should too, to reward the low price leader, to reward good behavior, and promote low prices by buying who is the cheapest. Especially if you watch the weekly food ads that reset every Wednesday, then stock up you can save more. For example, this week 6 oz blackberries 98 cents, 10 pounds potatoes $1.99. Last week, pears 87 cents/pound. The smart stores in the grocery market should price their healthy foods like gallon skim milk, fruits, vegetables, all natural non sugar cereal/oatmeal, and wheat bread cheaper to promote healthy lifestyles, even if little to no profit is made. Here are recent everyday prices from my survey: HEB's milk at $2.98 the low price leader, with Target $3.19, Sams $3.58, Albertsons $3.69, WMT $3.78, Lowes $3.79, CVS $4.29, Walgreens $4.29. Bananas 48c/pound the same as WMT. Glad that HEB is giving WMT some competition. read more

HEB...Hmm... I think I like it better when it was smaller, before they've expanded to the whole building. But I like how they are close to a Central Market now. They have everything and great selections. If you want real help on finding stuff, look for the managers, they are always floating around or looking for those who have a badges that says how long they've been there. They're the ones who can help you. If you want specific cuts on meat, yeah, ask the older butchers, they're more willing to do it for you. I usually only go late at night, even then, there's lots of people but at least I can find a parking spot remotely close to the door. read more

Evan their night manager turned me away at the door at 10:50 pm. They close at 11:00 pm I had 10 minutes to grab one item and hit the self checkout. I could see people walking around still shopping. I tried explaining to Evan that I only needed one item but power tripping Evan the night manager told me that I couldn't go into the store and spend my money at this particular HEB like I do week after week for years now. I spend at least $600-$800 a month on groceries at this store. Not anymore thanks to Power Tripping Evan. Just made a wasted trip to HEB. My last for certain. If HEB can't do a better job then that when they hire their Lame Power Tripping Managers, and I use the term managers loosely, then HEB doesn't deserve my money. Tell Evan I said thanks. Treated like a criminal at this location. Walk up to about 5 people in line, the girl guarding the baskets is flirting with another young worker, I wait for about a minute to never be acknowledged and so I grab my own basket, she then turns to me and yells at me to not touch the basket. Then pulls the very one I already pulled out to give to me... can I touch it, can I use it?! Wait in line to get it to see people touching things all over the store.. not sure why I can't touch a basket but and touch everything else in the store. Go to check out and can't be behind or in front of the plexiglass divider.. guess what HEB, if I was carrying the virus and it's as contagious as they say then you would have already infected.. the crap makes no sense, the little tiny divider isn't protecting anything. The customer service has turned sour here and I'm extremely unhappy with heb. HEB has always been my favorite store to shop and had the friendliest workers but that's all changed since communist style shopping has taken over. Market street is not as great of a grocery store but I will be shopping there and not heb anymore. You can walk into market street and be treated nicely. Which I happened to have to do after leaving here because they didn't have a few things I needed. I was greeted with an older woman spraying down baskets in which she told me "these are all clean honey, don't worry we are keeping up with disinfecting", I was "allowed" to grab my own basket and walk freely into the store to a wonderfully quiet and not chaotic shopping experience. read more

I have never been to a grocery store quite like HEB and I love it. I recently moved here and was so happy to find a store where I could get most of what I like to buy for my family, plus organic and local options. I love how the store brand products are sourced here in Texas, makes for a smaller carbon footprint. The bakery is awesome and their fresh baked bread is waaay better than anything you'll find on the regular bread aisle. Treat yourself! And I can tell the bakers and butchers really enjoy what they do. The butcher counter is great. Friendly and speedy service and fresh meats with a wide selection. I also love the natural products aisles. Great selection of essential oils and natural home products. Oh yeah, and check out their bulk section too, you'll find cheaper options for grains, granola, beans, and healthy snacks!! Thanks HEB for giving a California girl a great welcome! read more

Pretty good! The other location in town is better because it's new and cleaned up because of that but it is still great. Love the sushi and fresh produce. Meat is always really great quality!! My daughter almost was hit by a car, on several different occasions in the parking lot with me holding her hand, her in the shopping cart, etc. though so keep your kids close because these San Angelo drivers can sometimes not pay attention. read more

Ok, thought all HEB's were relatively the same...but wow...some are just nastier than others. Management, please...have your cashiers clean the conveyer belt. I almost put my groceries on it, but when you can almost see the salmonella swimming on the belt, it's time to clean it up...you're not that busy. I ordered today, and Runner delivered my groceries within a few hours. Thank you HEB for this service. During these trying times, Grocery workers are on the front lines, like our Doctors and Nurses, First Responders, Military and all the workers that are serving us as we stay at home. I'm very disappointed in you, heb. I stopped in this morning at 8 am to get some fruit to take to work. when I got up to the register area there was over 20 people waiting in the one express line open. There was two regular registers open with 4 to 6 people with full baskets waiting. An employee was doing something at a nearby register, I asked her if they were going to open another register. She said no. just no. Really HEB?? People are trying to get to work and don't have that much time to spend waiting on one register. I didn't, so I just left. I guess I'll try Walmart tomorrow. It's a shame, too, because in Abilene and big spring heb is my favorite grocery store. 05-17-14 OK so, I've been back several times since at the same time and never saw this happen again. We are originally from Dallas, where they don't have an HEB. I miss so many places back home, but this is one place i would really miss, if we ever move back home. I love HEB and their brand of everything, is even better than the name brand products! The staff is always very friendly too. The only thing i don't like, is how busy it always is. I hate crowds. H-E-B has a totally respectable selection of all kinds of foods that you can't find at many San Angelo groceries. They have an imported cheese section that doesn't compare to a place like Whole Foods, but is still pretty good. Their produce selection is admirable, often carrying rarities like fresh figs, tamarind pods, and lychees. Their seafood options are also very good considering that it's in West Texas. read more

i go to HEB for everything i need. No other grocery store has the awesome selection of organic produce. Also HEB promotes local to Texas merchandise which I think is a great thing. Just like any grocery store avoid it around paydays and on the weekends and you'll miss the crowds. read more

This place is great. They've expanded into the whole plaza and have lots of good stuff. I like the fresh tortillas and rotisserie chickens. Their meat market is good too. I'm not sure why anyone would give them anything less than a 5. The quality of their products is really good. The produce selection is the largest, highest quality, and freshest in town. Typically HEB is our store of choice. This one is ok but was a little dirty. Looked it had not been swept or mopped all day.

I can't believe some of the coupon deals they set up (you don't even have to clip coupons to get amazing deals, although you can!) Comparable to Wal-mart. Has a great produce selection. Slightly higher prices than Wal-mart but a little cheaper than typical grocery stores (i.e. Albertsons). read more
