10 delicious flavors of frozen yogurt and lots of topping to choose from. Super cute shop with tons of pre-packaged candy.

I walked in expecting pie. I don't know why. Would this place have cake; does this guy bake?…read more Perhaps Creme Broulee, oh what the hay! To what did my wondering eyes then appear, the familiar face of a chocolatier. A smile so bright, and a charm beyond measure. We had just tumbled in to some Texas style treasure. All the rhyming aside I'm totally wondering why no one has told me about this place. As a person who enjoys eating regularly (ok 4 or7 times a day) I am always looking for something delectable to top my meal off. Something decadent, a dessert that makes me feel like I've just had an out of body experience. The sign out front had the word CHOCOLATE capitalized and so I decided it was time to take the plunge after driving by at least 10 times on the way to school and going to the grocery store. A jovial young man comes out and starts telling us everything. Explaining what this is and what that is. Truffles, Brittle with BACON IN IT (er, uh Squittle that is) and peanut brittle with red pepper flakes in it (Bronco Brittle is what it's called here pardners). He handed me a small white peanutty explosion of flavor that had my eyes rolling into my head. This guy had me. Oh I was totally and undeniably chocolate candy whupped! So as I'm trying to decide what I'm going to buy the candies are still gliding across my taste buds. Is that my leg moving? No I just thought it was. I'm having a reaction of pure bliss and of course this man is totally doing this to draw me further into the chocolate abyss from whence there is no return. Gotta think now. Can't spend my whole paycheck here. I steeled my emotions and I bought a couple of things and took them home. NO I haven't eaten them all yet! HMMMMPH! Of course now I have to find a secret place to hide all this stuff. I wonder if the attic is cool enough to keep these this time of year? Shhhh, don't tell my wife. Everything here is Texas themed and is in no way just a regular type of candy. Yes he makes candy other than chocolate but I'm a chocolate fiend and it is hard to focus on anything else. There was that one piece of candy with the bacon in it though. Now I'm of the opinion that you can add bacon to just about anything and it will be good. Peanut Brittle called Squittle with bacon in it is masterful offering of piggy peanut perfection. I purchased some Tumbleweeds too: a concoction of chocolate and coconut that a put a look of unadulterated ecstasy on my wife's face. Hey I thought I was the only one that could do that?!?! We also bought the Texas Buckshot truffles and they were amazing. These were beyond excellent but the one thing I truly enjoyed was The Original Concho Caramel. Chocolaty coating around a chewy caramel center with pecans. This is 7th heaven kind of stuff. The familiar face I saw there was James Crowder the proprietor. I recognized his face from the countless times I had seen him as salesman of the month, year, century at a realtor many years ago here in town. I wondered where he had gone and now that I know where he is and the amazing talent he is sharing with us here in the Concho Valley I am a customer for life. I've had chocolate brought to me from overseas: Italian, Belgian, French, and Irish and they were great but James has taken chocolate to the next level. He's made Chocolate Texas' next big thing to brag about! Now you know. So go get some! Support your local chocolatier!

The service was very friendly and attentive and the food was fantastic. The elote corn rib appetizer was unique and very good. The winter salad with kale, sliced apples, pieces of crispy prosciutto, and Parmesan was wonderful. The braised beef short ribs were some of the best short ribs we've had in a while. The prime beef tenderloin was great and of high quality. The Brussels sprouts side with honey, bacon Lardon, and sliced jalapeños were a great choice. The cheesecake dessert with strawberry sauce was a great finish to a fantastic meal. We were told the peach burrata salad was a top pick, unfortunately they were out of Fredericksburg peaches during our visit. We also did not order the quail knots appetizer but they are supposed to be quite good. We will try the peach salad and quail knots next time. We highly recommend Una for folks looking for fine dining in San Angelo.
