Attentive staff. Super fast food. Husband got bulgogi, which says bul-go-ki on the menu. I've never seen it spelled that way before so we almost missed out. The dish comes with a salad- the sauce tasted like sweet mayo... the dish itself was good. Sweet and salty, thinly sliced tender beef. I got potstickers, they were good; enough flavor, not too salty. They are deep fried, I wish I could have gotten them pan fried as I prefer potstickers that way. I didn't ask so they may do it upon request.

Friday night, slow, didn't ask if I wanted a drink. Spring rolls are gluey, obviously frozen and then deep fried. Someone was preparing to go orders at the front, constantly wrapping up plastic bags. I don't know about you guys but I hate the sound of plastic bags. Anyways the food, pretty much an insult to Thai food if you've ever had good Thai. The pad Thai was overly sweet like a stir fry, and just wasn't right. Just don't eat here expecting good food. It's substandard.

Stayed at the westmark and the restaurant is conveniently across the street. Ordered Red curry to go and received a curry like soup with a small box of rice, if you add the rice to the soup you have yourself a curry soup(very unique) Also ordered pork fried rice and Mongolian beef. You really do get what you pay for.
One of the few Asian restaurants in Sitka Alaska. Hole in the wall restaurant in the strip mall. The Mongolian beef had very few vegetables with red chili sprinkled over the fillets of beef along with a few green onions and yellow onions no bell peppers in Alaska. Kung pao chicken came with squash, carrots, onions and red chili sprinkled over the chunks of white chicken. Both dishes had large serving sizes. Decent ambience with nice ceiling lights and colorful walls along with wooden tables and chairs. Would come here again read more

One of the few reasonably priced restaurants in Sitka. Portion was large, wait staff was quick and attentive. Food was tasty and full of veggies, chicken, beef and shrimp. Tables and chairs were clean and in great shape. read more

Food is terrible! As a tourist coming to Sitka, we don't know any better. 2 rolls of sushi for $20, terrible. Bad food. Pad thai? hmmm not thai food at all. Pho? terrible. broth is so salty. As a tourist, we come here only one time. Please don't come to this place. Pricey but the food is terrible. We wouldn't mind if food is good and expensive. read more

I'll start this review by stating I travel for work and frequent this establishment often (anywhere from 3-5x a month - whenever I come to town I have dinner here). When I first started eating here it was a very positive experience. I was always served by the same gentleman (to the point where he would know my order). I would read or watch a movie on my phone with headphones. The food always came out hot/fresh, and It was an enjoyable experience. Something changed though. The past 2-3 times I have gone there was a woman who would serve me. I don't know if she has problems with other females or what the issue is, but the service has declined. To the point where I don't feel welcome; I feel uncomfortable even. I used to work at a restaurant so I always make a point to be polite to the servers and over tip. Especially when the service is worthy of it. The food is tasty, so I am sad to stop coming here, but I feel I shouldn't spend my hard earned money where I'm going to be treated poorly. If you order take out then there shouldn't be an issue, but if you are a single woman who is planning on dining alone, maybe save yourself the trouble. If you do decide to eat here the tempura udon was my favorite. Followed by the ginger beef and egg flower soup. I hope your experience is better than mine. read more

Some bad reviews on here so I didn't go until today and the place was good! Not sure if something has changed or if it was just a few bad experiences, but everything we had was good. FYI, We didn't eat the sushi. read more

Asian Palace is exactly what I was hoping for... it was a small, dependable Asian restaurant. My wife and I weren't looking for anything too fancy; we stopped here for lunch while on shore from our cruise. It was good and hearty. The yellow curry warmed us up from the drizzly Sitka weather and the Ginger Beef had a flavorful sauce. It isn't the best Asian food I've ever had, but it was great and exactly what we needed on our trip. Oh! And my wife wanted to make sure I let y'all know the the post stickers are well worth ordering! Would definitely recommend! read more

I landed in Sitka and wanted something super warm to eat so my brother suggested eating some pho. We walked to this place and it says that it closes at 9:30pm. We got there at 8:30 and the guy said they are closed for seating but they could do take out. Why bother putting that you're closed at 9:30 then? Anyways, I ordered some beef pho and took it back to the house where my brother was staying at. It was pretty decent and the price was a little under $10. My brother had the curry rice and he said it was good but nothing to outstanding. read more

I have been pleasantly surprised by the Asian Palace. Food is always prepared fresh and very delicious. In fact it's some of the best Asian food I have ever had. Favorites include sesame chicken (not on the menu, just ask for it) pad thai, orange chicken, and egg rolls. One of the best restaurants in Sitka. read more

Based solely on our experience, I should be giving this place one star. Instead, I'm giving it two because a) the people are friendly; b) they're new and may need to get their act together (boy do they need to get their act together); and c) maybe they know how to do Korean or Chinese a whole lot better than what we had. We came in here one night for take-out and ordered what was supposed to be Thai food... the Tom ka chicken soup, and two curries. Wow, what a mistake. This soup is supposed to be sweet and based upon coconut milk, but I doubt that they'd done more than wave a can of coconut milk over it... it was sour and borderline inedible (I took three or four spoonfuls and threw the rest away). The curries weren't much better. Thai food at its best is a subtle mixture of spices and other ingredients, producing a rich, complex set of flavors.... this was anything but. Thin and just plain bad. Seriously, this was unequivocally the worst "Thai" food I have ever eaten (and I've eaten it in many places, everywhere from Thailand to Europe to the US). Perhaps the other cuisines they offer are better... for Sitka's sake, I sure hope so. read more

Had a craving for oriental food. Ordered a beef pho dish with veggies for $16.00. Was stunned when they brought me a ridiculously small portion of beef with a couple shreds of carrot & broccoli. Don't waste your money here. Try Sizzling Chow on Lincoln Str. The chicken adobo is great! read more

Located right across the street from the Westmark, Asian Palace is hardly palace sized, but the food was good. The server not only welcomed us and our toddler warmly but also made sure he had rice and sweet and sour sauce to eat before the meals came, and even hung around to try to make him smile a few times when he was giving his stranger-danger glare. Considering that this look rivals Chuckie, and that he left a mess just as profuse, she certainly earned her tip tonight! The food was average, the service was great. Definitely kid-friendly! read more
I ate here 4-5 years ago and hopefully this place has changed since then. I ordered an appetizer and dinner. The appetizer was great, the dinner was a pad Thai. And after 1 bite i couldn't eat it. I never had a bad pad thai in my life until that day. I apologized to the waitress and asked if they would take it back and take it off my bill. She said I'd need to order something else for dinner. I said to her i don't want anything else. I'd just like to pay my bill and leave. She said she didn't think that was possible but she'd ask the cook. At that point I should've left a $20 and bolted. I hear the cook screaming to her at the top of his lungs in the kitchen. I felt so uncomfortable. After 5 minutes of screaming at her he comes out and says to me I'll have to order something else because he'd get in trouble with the owner if I didn't. What does that even mean? I said I'd just like to go. He insisted on me ordering something to replace the dinner, I finally did. I was so upset I stayed and even decided to bring this up to the waitress. I did not ever go back there, and since then I no longer bring up complaints like that at any restaurant I visit. read more

We are in a place only served by airlines. No fresh food by truck here. So the fact that we are in isolated Alaska makes this place a 4 star. In the rest of the world it is a 3 star. But nevertheless this place is not bad for any where in the USA. Service was prompt, food portion generous, hot, tasty, and service friendly. I will go back. read more

This is a wonderful replacement for Roma's that Kenny installed in early 2013. Much better selection of Chinese dishes than his existing original place. In addition there are some selections of Korean, Vietnamese, and Thai dishes. Everything is good and the staff are very friendly and tell me to come back every day! read more

Just got off ship for Sitka visit. Tired of ship food. Tried Asian palace in middle of downtown Sitka ak. I had ginger beef combo with pad Thai. My two kids had pho and sweet sour chicken combo. Pleasantly surprised. We are Chinese and we operate a couple of Chinese restaurants in la. Food was good. Fresh. Taste is authentic. Would eat here again. read more

Nice atmosphere inside, custom muted painted walls depicting boats from Asia in red, Chinese chairs. The waitress service was a bit lacking, when asked for water for the both of us, she didn't bring water for my partner as he had ordered TsingTao beer. After a second request did she bring water out for him. The Ginger Tofu was a winner, good flavor, not spicy. The combo dish with eggroll, pad thai, yellow curry, rice was way too spicy with the pad thai and yellow curry. The crabmeat wonton was similar to crab ragoon. read more

The pineapple fried rice and the house fried rice are really tasty! My new favorite place to get some decent Asian food. The Korean style BBQ'd beef ( Bul Go Gi) is pretty good too! I will post pictures next time which should be in a month or less. This is e second time our family has dined here and the food is literally at your table 5-8 minutes after the order is placed with the restaurant at half capacity both times. read more

What a pleasant surprise!!! I'm always a little reticent about small town Asian restaurants with huge menus, but this place is a real treasure if you're a lover of Asian cuisine. Take out or delivery is available, but my husband & I opted to sit in for our meal and it was definitely worth it. The premises (including restrooms) were very clean & quiet with lots of room available for sitting. All in all, very neat and tidy! We were served promptly and by a very friendly and attentive waitress. She took our order & our food was delivered to us hot and fresh, & fast! We both ordered the Pho, I ordered the seafood & the husband ordered beef tendon, and they were both spectacular (and HUGE). Both had clean, fresh, & complex flavor. All the protein was cooked correctly and very tender. Considering my bowl in particular was jam packed with fresh scallop, fresh large shrimp, squid, noodles, & fresh veg, it was a real steal at only $15!!! Anywhere else in sitka this would have easily been a $20-25 bowl of soup, so you definitely can't complain about the price. All in all, this is a must stop for anyone who loves Asian food. We will definitely be visiting again, maybe even tomorrow for lunch!! 5 out of 5 would definitely recommend! As a whole we are very happy with our experience! read more

I really wanted to like this place, but the food that we just ate was mediocre at best. Service was meh. Not really much of a server, more of an order taker with no emotion. You get your food, and that's it. They never come back to you again unless you raise your arm and call them over. The one thing that bothered us when we went here was that they were advertising Bulgogi, but what came out was a weird, starchy, mongolian beef looking dish with a side of rice. We're from Washington state and had our fair share of Korean BBQs. This was not Bulgogi. I had the curry. The potatoes were not fully cooked and tender, barely even a centimeter of the potato was cooked, and they were diced into cubes too. It tasted bland. The Campbells sauce packet curry tasted better. I tried this place when it first opened, and it was lackluster. Thought it might've changed since the last 3 years. I'm sorry, but we won't be coming back. read more

Horrible service!! Arrived for a late supper at about 8:20. Times for closing posted on the door was 9:30. Ordered our food received @about 8:35. Along with our food he brought the bill and told us we needed to pay right away, they were closing and he needed to count out the till and they needed to clean the kitchen. I said so your kicking us out? We had not even tasted the food yet! My food was so hot I could not eat it right away so I had to nibble off the others in our party's plates. He went around turning on all the lights to hurry us out. Losing the ambiance and our appetite!!! We were out of there with a go container before 9:00. I called the next morning and got the managers number to complain and he said "sorry"... not good enough, since I was not even able to relax and enjoy my meal! When I told him I was a local and would not be back and would also spread the word locally as well as leaving a review on yelp he said "that's fine" I said "you don't care"? He said nuhuh!! We won't be going back either! read more

I love Asian Palace. I'm on a plant based diet and when I order a simple item like fried rice, I make about five additional requests to change the dish for my diet. They are always so accommodating and make sure the dish is what I ordered. I'm so appreciative of their great service! read more
