Hmm this place is good, don't get me wrong. The portions are good but some dishes are not worth the price. We ordered chicken chow mein, but instead got a vegetable dish. I called the next day and was told it was just a vegetable dish. If it's a vegetable dish then don't call it chow mein!!! I get that they have a lo mein dish that has noodles but chow mein is also noodles, the only difference is how it's cooked. Anyways for the "chow mein" dish it was watery, not worth it at all. Not even flavorful either. But the rest of the things we ordered like the lemon pepper chicken was real good! Their salt and pepper shrimp was good too but I wouldn't pay that price especially for how many you get. But, will we be back? Probably, this place is by far the best Chinese food we've had since we moved out here. A lot of places out here suck (no offense) but at least next time we won't be ordering the chow mein anymore and we look forward to trying other dishes from here. read more

We love the food there. The owners there are super friendly and I have yet to have even a slightly bad meal. Their curry chicken is to die for and my wife loves the Dragon & Phoenix dish. We have now eaten there three times since they have been established and they do not disappoint. My son and I decided to give Asian Place another try for lunch. This time, the service we received was MUCH improved. The server was pleasant, very attentive, and efficient. Service alone was a 5 this time, a huge improvement over our last visit. The restaurant was clean and simply, but attractively decorated. The food, we feel, was still a bit lacking, though, which took our rating down to 4. The wonton soup had a tasty broth, but the wontons were terribly overcooked and falling apart, with the fillings escaping and floating independently of their soggy wrappers. The egg rolls were hot and crispy, but small and pretty standard, with a strong cabbage flavor. My chicken lo mein was okay, but not anything incredible. There were a few vegetables in it, but not many, mostly celery, green onion, and bamboo shoots. The bamboo shoots had an "off" canned taste. My son said that his general tso's chicken was okay, but he probably would not order it again. The broccoli in the sauce was soft and overcooked, so he pushed it to the side of his plate. He said the sauce itself was acceptable, but has definitely had much better. read more

Sorry I did not take any pictures of this place. Had dinner here with a friend on September 16, 2016. Amazingly CLEAN restaurant. Excellent food. I enjoyed their Cashew Chicken dish. I also ordered an egg roll. Rice choices are white (steamed), fried or brown. Very nice place, excellent service. The embroidered tablecloths are fabulous. We are from Cleveland, Ohio and wish this place was closer to home. I would be a regular. They do a brisk take out but sadly, we were the only dine "inners". Eastern Panda has had a tumultuous history in Northern KY, but I'm very optimistic about where its going. It is recently under new management and slowly but surely - it is turning around. They have a new menu, a new cook, and new staff - AND they're in the process of updating the space. The menu is traditional Chinese and it is better than it used to be - much more fresh veggies and more vibrant tastes, less sodium and bland cabbage. The physical menu is much brighter and offers a wider variety. The service is still friendly and very competant. Since EP had gone downhill the past few years - its not busy, so service is quick too. Yes - the decor and seating and space was very rundown. They're building it back up. They did just get new booth seating which was in very bad need of repair. My guess is they'll continue to update as business picks back up. I really want this business to succeed and now it seems they have the right things in place to make it happen. I travel 15 minutes just to come to this place even though there are two other places very close to me. Crab rangoon and the lo mein are definitely my favourite picks. While Oriental Wok has the market cornered on high-end Chinese cuisine, Eastern Panda is where you go for quick and cheap carry out. It's dark and kind of dingy, but the food is great classic American Chinese, and always super quick and friendly with the order. I hope they do a steady carry out business, because I rarely if ever see anyone dine in. It's definitely more of a carry out kind of place, for sure, and I highly recommend it for those nights when you don't feel like cooking and need something more substantial than a Chipotle salad. Once again, parking in this shopping center is the pits, but there's usually a "retail only" spot open right in front of the restaurant front. And a call-in order usually takes less than ten minutes, so it's not like it really matters much, either. read more

I've tried this place several times, wanting badly to like it since my friends do. But it's never going to happen. The place is run down, which doesn't necessarily signal horrible food. And the food isn't horrible, it's just not that great. The rice is dried out, the egg rolls are too salty and the pad thai does not look or taste like pad thai. The moo shu pork is edible. I live up the street from this place and the well-known Oriental Wok. While Oriental Wok is my go-to for sit down, classy service, Eastern Panda is my everyday Chinese spot. Their food is inexpensive, delicious and fast. No MSG. Fresh ingredients. Awesome employees. The woman who usually takes my carryout order is also the bartender. She always has a smile on her face. The restaurant itself has a cozy, personal feel to it, all the way down to the worn booths. Love this place. Their kung pao chicken is different from most interpretations too, slightly sweet and made with lots of water chestnuts. Check it out if you're in the area. It's just good. read more

Long story short - I love this place!! I go back every time for their shrimp mei fun. This is something I have never seen before at any Chinese restaurant around here. Everything that I get is amazing and the staff is awesome! They always seem to remember us, and we don't really go there often. The sizes are pretty big and they put them in containers that are microwavable safe. This makes it so sweet because I can bring the leftovers in to work and eat it for lunch the next day and just pop it in to the microwave. Just to sum it up, this place is awesome! read more

They are very concerned with your satisfaction. My new favorite dish is the Crystal Walnut Shrimp. We used to go to this location regularly when It was Eastern Panda. The food and service got kind of iffy when it changed hands a few years ago. We heard that it hand changed hands again and was greatly improved, so with some trepidation we decided to give it another chance. We are So glad that we did. We've now tried Asian Place three times....and each time was better than the previous visit. The decor is minimal, but then again, I don't go to most restaurants to stare at the walls. The new owners (this used to be "Eastern Panda") have remodeled the dining room and brightened it up considerably. Its been spotlessly clean each time we've been there. The food is exceptional. We're very picky about our Chinese food and so far, Asian Place has not disappointed. Their chicken-on-a-stick (Teriyaki Chicken) appetizer is the best I've ever had *anywhere*. The General Tso's Chicken is excellent (that's usually the dish by which I judge a "new" Chinese restaurant). I tried the "Capital Chicken" on our most recent visit. It's fried chicken pieces (all white meat) fried with a light brown sauce with a spicy zing. I loved the spice... enough to give it a great flavor... not so much that it "burned". I've never had anything like it elsewhere... and I loved it. I definitely recommend it and will have it again. The hostess/server is friendly and inviting. We ate here last week and both really enjoyed it. They have an extensive menu and the prices are in line with most other Chinese carry-out style places (they do offer dine-in as well). What sold me is you can request white-meat chicken in any dish. In some cases it is an up-charge, if the dish isn't normally prepared that way, but to me that is 100% worth it. I hate ordering from Chinese menus and not knowing if I am going to get mystery meat or nice pieces of chicken. Problem solved! You have a choice of white, fried or brown rice with the dishes that include it. They also can accommodate different spice levels, which not all Chinese restaurants offer up front.
